Manor Holding Cottage – Sleeps 4
Manor Holding Cottage features a well-equipped kitchen/scullery opening off the dining room. Facilities include double fan-assisted ovens, a four-burner gas hob, multi-speed extractor hood with high-intensity lighting, a large fridge and freezer, washing machine, double sink with drainers, microwave, airing racks, external washing lines, toaster and hot beverage station.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms: one super king-size double and one twin room. Downstairs, opening off the entrance hall, there is a cosy snug or study with Wi-Fi and a CD player, along with a larger sitting/dining room complete with TV/DVD and a highly efficient wood-burning stove.
Outside, the cottage enjoys a separate, enclosed and sheltered front garden with two lawns, an intimate viewing terrace and shady seating arbours, ideal for warmer days.
Manor Holding Byre – Sleeps 2 + Single Sofa Bed
Manor Holding Byre is an elegantly proportioned small barn built from distinctive handmade brick in a warm tangerine hue. The property has one twin bedroom accessed via external loft stairs, while downstairs there is a full-height living room with a kitchenette and a wet room shower and toilet. A sofa bed is also located downstairs.
The Byre has been carefully restored using appropriate materials, including matched handmade brick, natural stone, green oak and traditional clay tiles, preserving its original character. New casement windows complement the style of the adjacent cottage.
Visiting the Area
Buttonoak provides an excellent base for exploring Shropshire and the surrounding countryside. Guests can observe wildlife within Manor Holding’s own five acres (2 hectares) of wildflower meadows and ancient orchards, explore the adjacent Ancient Woodland National Nature Reserve, or walk along the Neolithic ridgeway long-distance path, part of which includes the property’s drive.
The Wyre Forest itself covers 35 square miles, offering an extensive network of off-road cycle trails and bridleways leading directly to the cottage door.
Nearby attractions include the West Midlands Safari Park, where visitors can experience close encounters with wildlife and enjoy the adjoining funfair. Guests can also take a scenic steam train journey along the Severn Gorge on the Severn Valley Railway from Bewdley, Arley or Kidderminster.
For those seeking relaxation, there are local fishing ponds and rivers, as well as several high-quality golf courses within easy reach.
Rates range from £290 to £823 per week, depending on the season. Prices exclude VAT.
Maximum occupancy is four people plus a cot.
An additional charge of £15 per night per pet applies, up to a maximum of £45 per pet per week.
