Whether guests are seeking outdoor adventure or a slower pace by the sea, the cottages offer comfortable and well-located accommodation for couples and families alike.
The Anchorage – Sleeps 7
The Anchorage is a spacious and stylish detached Devon longhouse, ideal for families or groups of friends. A large gated driveway provides ample private off-road parking and leads to a practical porch area, perfect for storing shoes and outdoor equipment.
At the heart of the property is a generous bespoke kitchen, designed for cooking and gathering together, complemented by a separate dining room for relaxed meals or special occasions. The main living room offers comfortable seating along with a TV and DVD player, while additional cosy seating areas can be found in the rear hallway and an upstairs snug, which also includes a TV and a sofa bed. Two staircases lead to the first floor, where there are two attractive bedrooms, one of which benefits from a spacious en-suite bathroom with a separate shower.
On the ground floor, there is a double bedroom, an adjacent bathroom and an additional WC located off the utility area, providing excellent facilities for larger groups. Outside, a warm outdoor shower is ideal after days spent at the beach. Across the driveway, a fully enclosed garden with lawn and large patio offers sun loungers, outdoor dining furniture and a Weber barbecue, creating a safe and relaxing space for al fresco meals and laid-back evenings.
Manor Farm Cottage – Sleeps 6
Manor Farm Cottage is a charming 16th-century, oak-beamed, thatched retreat, beautifully refurbished to accommodate up to six guests. The cottage is surrounded on three sides by secluded gardens, offering a peaceful and private setting.
The front door opens into a small hallway leading to a comfortable lounge and dining area with Freeview TV. From here, guests access the well-equipped kitchen, which includes an eye-level oven, hob, fridge, microwave, breakfast bar, dishwasher and washing machine, along with complimentary Wi-Fi. The main bathroom, with bath, shower and WC, is located off the kitchen.
A ground-floor double bedroom overlooks the western garden, while upstairs there is a spacious double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC, along with a cosy twin room. Linen and towels are provided, and a cot and high chair are available on request. The gardens can be accessed from both the front and rear of the cottage, and a Weber barbecue is supplied for summer evenings. Well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement.
Thatch Cottage – Sleeps 4
Thatch Cottage is a characterful 16th-century, oak-beamed property, thoughtfully refurbished to a high standard and ideal for up to four guests. A small, secluded garden lies to the eastern side of the cottage.
On the ground floor, the entrance hall leads to a bathroom with bath, shower and WC, and through to a well-equipped kitchen with electric cooker and hob, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. A stable door opens from the kitchen into the garden, where outdoor furniture and a Weber barbecue make summer dining a pleasure.
The cosy lounge-diner features comfortable seating, a Freeview TV, electric fire and night-storage heating, with complimentary Wi-Fi included. Upstairs, there are two inviting bedrooms, one double and one twin, with linen and towels provided. A cot and high chair are also available if required.
Guests staying at all three cottages benefit from complimentary parking at the multi-award-winning Putsborough Sands beach for the duration of their stay.
