Henblas Holiday Cottage in Abergele is a converted Welsh stone farm building originally built in 1860 and now offers superb self-catering accommodation. We are based in a lovely part of Conwy and in the ideal location for exploring the area.

The cottage sleeps up to 6 people and we have a cot, highchair and safety gate available (if required) for our younger visitors.

Our cottage is tastefully furnished and comes with a cosy living room with Freeview TV and a DVD player. Rustle up some delicious food in the well-equipped kitchen which has a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, cooker, hob, crockery, cutlery and saucepans.

The beds are made for arrival with quality bed linen and on the ground floor has an en suite bathroom. A shower room and toilet is also on the ground floor and on the first floor is a toilet.

Outside there is a garden/patio with a BBQ for al fresco dining.

Henblas Holiday Cottage is situated above the old market town of Abergele & nearby villages of Rhyd y Foel & Llanddulas and is surrounded by farmland, forestry and wildlife. This beautiful area of North Wales offers our guests peace and quiet, with stunning views of the North Wales coastline (only a 10 min drive from the cottage) and views across the fields and hills to nearby Betws yn Rhos and the Denbigh Moors.

We are in the ideal location for experiencing the amazing natural scenery in the area. The accommodation adjoins the RSPB Coombes Valley Nature Reserve, offering lots of scenic routes for walkers for cyclists. The stunning Staffordshire Peak District set in the Peak District National Park offers the wonderful Manifold Valley and the picturesque Tittesworth Reservoir. You can visit the historic market town of Leek or enjoy the adrenaline-filled rides at Alton Towers.

Snowgoose Mountain Centre offers various activities located within the large Fort William village of Corpach. As well as activities there are several self catering accommodation types available on offer. The location is a great base from which to explore the west coast of Scotland as well as taking advantage of the adventures that the mountain centre has to offer.

The Smiddy

This is a self catering bunkhouse that can accommodate 10 people in 2 bunkrooms. The bunkhouse has wonderful views of the Caledonian Canal and of the Harry Potter train. There is an open plan living/dining area which has things to read, fire and dining area.

The well equipped kitchen has 2 ovens, toaster, microwave, 2 kettles, fridge and freezer.

Blacksmith's

The Blacksmith's is a hostel which can sleep up to 14 people in 3 bunkrooms. Like The Smiddy, there is an open plan living/dining area and kitchen. There are wonderful views over Loch Linnhe.

Farrier's Apartment

This first floor self catering apartment has views of the loch and nearby islands. The living spaces are open plan and equipped with an oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, 2 kettles, coffee maker, TV and dining table.

The apartment sleeps 6/8 people in a double and 2 twin bedrooms. Farriers also has its own large pine clad porch area for boots and wet gear.

Forge Apartment

Forge is also a first floor apartment with picturesque views. Like the above holiday apartment, the living spaces are open plan and well equipped.

This self catering apartment can accommodate 2/4 people in a twin room and a double sofa bed.

Anvil Apartment

This holiday apartment has excellent views over Ben Nevis and it can sleep 2/4 people in a bunk room and twin room.

Woodend is a collection of self catering holiday homes sleeping up to six people, nestled in a remote location within a relatively quiet and unspoilt area of the Lake District National Park, just a short drive from Ulpha near Broughton-in-Furness. From the holiday cottages, guests can enjoy fantastic views towards Scafell Pike and we are conveniently located for those who want to explore the many walks in the surrounding area.

These unique self contained holiday properties are full of character and charm and set within, though not part of, a working farm and are surrounded by various farm animals. They are pet friendly and all properties have multi fuel "log-burning” stoves, Wi-Fi and Sky TV.

The Bothy

This is a self contained building standing on its own offering cosy and comfortable upside down accommodation for two people. It combines the old with the new and has a multi fuel log burning stove. Stone steps lead up to the front door where you enter into the combined lounge/dining/kitchen area with its wooden floor and views towards Scafell Pike.

The Schoolhouse

With the conservatory/garden room this is a cosy self contained building standing privately on its own facing due south up the fell and offering character studio accommodation for two people. It combines the old with the new and has a multi fuel log burning stove in the living area.

A path leads to the front door where you enter into the combined lounge/dining/kitchen/bedroom area with exposed beams and stone walls. A door leads from the bedroom area to the en suite bathroom which has a spacious shower, hand basin and WC. A second door leads to the conservatory/garden room. There is a bistro table and chairs and a second multi fuel stove and whilst not practical all the year round it may be suitable from March/April to October/November, weather permitting.

The Buttery

A cosy self contained annexe to the house offering character accommodation for two people. It combines the old with the new and has a multi fuel log burning stove in the living area. A step leads from the parking area to the front door where you enter into the combined lounge/dining/kitchen area with a slate floor and oak beams. A half flight of steps leads down to the oak floored bedroom and the en suite bathroom comprising of a traditional slipper bath on feet, hand basin and WC.

The Cottage

This adjoins Woodend Barn and offers comfortable accommodation for up to six people. It combines the old with the new and has a multi fuel log burning stove. Through the front door you enter into the lounge with log burner and exposed beams, views towards Scafell Pike and a door that leads to the utility room, downstairs WC and kitchen. Stairs lead from the lounge to a landing, off which there are the three bedrooms, two doubles and one twin and the bathroom.

The holiday cottages are situated 3 miles from both the Eskdale Valley and the Duddon Valley and is conveniently located for Ulpha, Eskdale, Boot, Seathwaite and Broughton-in-Furness. It is also only a short drive from the more populated areas of Coniston, Windermere and Ambleside.

Greenwell Cottage, Burray, Orkney

Greenwell Cottage is a single-storey early 20th century renovated farming croft, situated in 52 acres of arable farmland, with its own private beach and pier on the very peaceful north-western coast of the island of Burray, Orkney.

The holiday cottage boasts magnificent views overlooking the waters of the famous Scapa Flow. Ideal for the artist, water sport enthusiast (kayaking, canoeist, diver, swimmer, fishing etc...) or for just that peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle of life.

The self-catering cottage is adjoined to Greenwell, which is a working croft and lived in by the owners, Josie and Eddy. It provides all home comforts to ensure that you have a very enjoyable stay. A small welcome pack is provided on arrival, which includes tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits. The facilities in the cottage include, heat by air-to-air heaters in each room and an electric fire, if needed. It has a fully equipped kitchen, including a calor gas cooker, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

The bathroom has a shower over the bath. The lounge has a two-piece suite and TV. The breakfast room and large conservatory have spectacular views of Scapa Flow which is 30m away. To the rear of the cottage is a large conservatory filled with flowers and plants, overlooking a large split-level garden with a washing line. To the front of the house is a large outside decked area with table and chairs. Sadly, there is no internet for 2022 but this will be available from 2023.

Burray has a small village with a local shop, café and hotel that serves meals daily. To the south of Burray, across Number 4 Causeway and the beautiful long white sandy beach is the island of South Ronaldsay and the village of St Margarets Hope. The village includes a doctor’s surgery, church, café, grocery stores and the Pentland Ferry terminal from Gills Bay, Scotland. This village/ferry is 5 miles drive to and from the cottage.

To the north of Burray and crossing the remaining three causeway’s, the famous blockships sunk in the war and the Italian chapel, is the Orkney mainland. The royal burgh of Kirkwall lies 11 miles from Burray and is a lively and busy town with supermarkets, chemists, a leisure centre/swimming pool, cinema, theatre, post office, petrol station, vets and many pubs serving local alcoholic produce The Kirkwall airport (KOI) is approximately 11 miles from the cottage.

Lyde Hill Holidays offers superb accommodation situated on an old dairy farm near Stour Provost in North Dorset. There are lots of farm animals on site to meet including pygmy goats, lambs & sheep and chickens. In the surrounding farmland, there are also wild deer and rabbits to spot as well as a plethora of birds and other wildlife.

Westwinds - Sleeps 6 Adults + 2 children:

Westwinds has five spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms and is set over two floors. On the ground floor, there are two bedrooms and a bathroom and then the further three bedrooms and second bathroom are on the first floor. There is a large family kitchen with everything you may need, including a double oven, a large fridge, a dining table & chairs and a microwave. The utility room has a washer/dryer and freezer. The sitting room has a lovely wood burner, sofas and a TV to relax in front of. There is a games room with a selection of family games and outside you will find an enclosed garden, garden furniture & BBQ. Parking for up to four cars. Minimum 4 night stays.

The Pods:

There are five luxury pods onsite all with stunning views of Duncliffe Wood. They are made from cedar wood and each one is heated throughout and has a double bed, en-suite shower room, compact but functional kitchen and also a small sofa bed suitable for 2 young children. Outside there is a private space with BBQ, table & chairs. Towels and bedding for the double bed are included. Minimum 2 night stays.

There is so much to see and do in the area, we are in a great location in the heart of the North Dorset countryside. Duncliffe Wood is only a short walk away and is an ancient woodland - perfect for the kids to explore or for you to enjoy a stroll through. Gillingham and Shaftesbury are only a ten-minute drive away and have a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants to choose from.
