Spout House Studio, Boldre, Hampshire, The New Forest

Spout House Studio

Spout House Studio is a spacious and light-filled apartment located in the village of Boldre, in the heart of the New Forest National Park.

Accommodation

Accessed via a private entrance at the rear of the property, guests enter through an enclosed garden and ascend steps to a balcony. Originally an artist’s studio, the apartment offers a bright and airy living space complete with a Smart TV, wood burner and a selection of books, toys and board games.

The fully fitted galley kitchen is well equipped for self-catering. The bathroom includes a bath with shower over, and there is also a separate WC. The master bedroom features a king-size bed and single sofa bed, while the second bedroom can be arranged as either a twin or a double upon request.

The apartment has its own garden with seating and parking for two cars, along with bike storage for up to five bicycles. Tea, coffee, milk and a small welcome pack are provided on arrival. The wood burner is available from October to March, with an initial supply of logs included. EV charging is available using a domestic three-pin plug from the kitchen, and a shared washing machine can be accessed from the guest garden. Beds are prepared according to the number of guests booked, so any specific room requests should be made in advance.

From the balcony, guests can see the free-range hens and ducks, which, when in lay, contribute to the welcome pack. Depending on availability and the temperament of the alpacas, it may also be possible to feed and walk the owners’ alpaca. This must be requested at the time of booking.

Visiting the Area

A stay in Boldre offers a peaceful escape surrounded by the natural beauty of the New Forest. Wild ponies roam freely across the open heath, ancient trees tower overhead, and in late summer the landscape glows with purple heather. Quiet country lanes are ideal for walking and cycling, with opportunities to spot deer among the trees.

The studio is perfectly located for exploring the area, just five minutes from two excellent pubs and around ten minutes on foot from a well-stocked village shop. Nearby attractions include Lyndhurst, the Beaulieu Motor Museum and Buckler’s Hard, as well as the Solent coast with boat trips to the Isle of Wight and the beaches of Highcliffe, Bournemouth and Poole. Although local bus services are limited, excellent train connections from nearby Lymington and Brockenhurst make it easy to explore the wider region.
