Surf Bay offers excellent self-catering accommodation on the edge of Appledore, near Bideford in Devon. The property enjoys a private south-facing terrace with glorious views of the sea, creating a wonderful setting for a relaxing coastal escape.
Surf Bay Lodge
The luxurious lodge is beautifully designed and boasts an impressive range of facilities, including an outdoor hot tub/spa, private swimming pool and a contemporary wet room with a Jacuzzi bath.
The ground-level lodge features a well-equipped modern kitchen complete with a Tassimo coffee machine, dishwasher, electric hob, fridge/freezer, kettle, microwave, oven, grill and toaster. Guests can unwind in the cosy lounge, which includes a red leather sofa bed, Xbox games console with games and a flat-screen TV. The bedrooms offer comfortable beds, and the bathrooms are finished to a high standard throughout.
Main House
Additional bedrooms are available in the Main House. These rooms are accessed from the pool terrace and do not provide access to the main house itself. Bedroom one can be arranged as twin beds or a super king-size bed, while bedroom two features a king-size bed. Both bedrooms have en suite facilities and French doors overlooking the pool.
The main house includes a spacious kitchen with a newly fitted oven and fridge freezer, along with a breakfast seating area. An elegant dining room features an extendable table seating up to eight guests. The large lounge offers multiple sofas, a new double sofa bed and a large TV, with stunning sea views through the windows and patio doors opening onto the pool area.
In total, the property provides three king-size bedrooms, one single bedroom and one super king-size bedroom, along with a modern bathroom.
Visiting the Area
Appledore is known for its charming cobbled streets lined with pastel-coloured houses. Visitors can explore a variety of independent shops selling antiques, trinkets and local crafts, as well as art galleries, restaurants and friendly pubs. A gentle stroll along the quay or a visit to nearby Gray Sands Beach is highly recommended.
Attractions further afield include Northam Burrows Country Park, Westward Ho!, The BIG Sheep, North Devon Maritime Museum and Saunton Sands.
