Once the main farm for the Earls of Portsmouth’s Eggesford Estate, the property has been carefully converted and renovated to a high standard while respecting the constraints of its Grade II listed status. With a history spanning over 300 years, the house offers an abundance of charm and character.

The house is surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodland and sits along the Tarka Trail, a well-known route through North Devon that is particularly popular with walkers.
Guests can book exclusive use of Eggesford Barton House, which can accommodate up to 30 people. Many visitors choose to stay for a long weekend or a full week with extended family or friends, often to celebrate special occasions. Outside caterers can also be arranged on request, although advance notice is recommended.
For families with children, the property offers an enclosed outdoor play area along with 30 acres of land to explore. There is also an indoor games room equipped with a Nintendo Wii, table tennis and a pool table.
