Bakers Mill Farm Holiday Cottages are dog friendly and wheelchair accessible holiday cottages located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in West Dorset.
The cottages are built from locally sourced stone and combine rustic charm with modern interiors. Many feature high vaulted ceilings and exposed beams which add character, while dual aspect windows in several cottages create bright, airy living spaces. The cottages feel warm and cosy while still offering a light and spacious atmosphere.
Threshers Barn – Sleeps 6
This Grade II listed stone barn is full of character with exposed beams and high vaulted ceilings that create a light and airy feel. It also has an enclosed courtyard garden overlooking the surrounding fields.
Harvest Cottage – Sleeps 4 plus 2
Harvest Cottage is wheelchair accessible and designed with wheelchair users in mind. It is very spacious and also suitable for guests with mobility impairments as there are no steps, only ramps. There is a car parking space immediately outside the cottage and an enclosed courtyard garden overlooking the fields.
Millers Cottage – Sleeps 3
This cottage is all on one level and offers a cosy yet airy feel thanks to the high vaulted ceilings in the open plan living, kitchen and dining area. It also has an enclosed lawn garden overlooking the fields.
The Wheatsheaf – Sleeps 2
The Wheatsheaf is very spacious and all on one level. Exposed beams and vaulted ceilings give the cottage a cosy yet airy feel. It also benefits from an enclosed lawn garden overlooking the fields and farm.
The Granary – Sleeps 2
Full of charm and character, The Granary features a low beamed ceiling in the sitting room and high vaulted beamed ceilings in the kitchen and bedroom. A small rill runs outside the door, creating a peaceful setting where guests can sit out in the evenings, listen to the running water and enjoy the night sky.
The Cobb – Sleeps 2
This light, airy and very spacious cottage still retains a cosy feel. Vaulted ceilings and exposed beams run throughout the property. The enclosed garden is located at the back and is approached alongside the wildlife pond. There is also a dining table and chairs alongside the rill at the front of the cottage.
Facilities in all cottages include well equipped, fully fitted kitchens and very comfortable beds with duvets and extra blankets. Threshers Barn and The Granary have king size beds, while the other double beds can be arranged as super king or twin beds. All bedrooms have en suite facilities except for Millers Cottage, which shares the en suite bathroom.
Each cottage also provides information folders, complimentary welcome trays, televisions, DVD players and CD radios. Hair dryers, shaver points, BBQs and patio furniture for outdoor dining are included. All cottages have enclosed gardens.
Additional facilities include Wi-Fi in the games room, which may also be available in cottages depending on signal. Cleaning materials, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, foil, cling film, sandwich bags, rubbish bags and plasters are all supplied. Pet barriers are available.
For young children, Threshers Barn has a full size cot, high chair and stair gate. Travel cots with extra thick mattresses and high chairs are available for the other cottages. A chair bed with sleeping bag suitable for a small child is also available. Cot linen is not supplied. There is also a toybox for young children in the games room.
The cottages are located close to a village pub and shop which are around a 15 minute walk along a quiet country lane. Bakers Mill Farm is perfectly positioned on the Dorset, Devon and Somerset border and is close to the Jurassic Coast and historic market towns such as Beaminster, Bridport, Dorchester, Lyme Regis, Sherborne and Weymouth.
Rates range from £400 to £1175 per week depending on the season and cottage. The cottages sleep between 2 and 6 guests. Children are welcome. Dogs are charged at £25 for the first dog and £20 for each additional dog regardless of the length of stay. Disabled facilities are available by arrangement. There is off street parking, Wi-Fi/internet access and electric vehicle car charging available.
