Model Farm is a stunning country house located in a lovely part of Somerset, at Wembdon near Bridgewater. Our holiday home has an imposing Victorian front that is a wonderful addition to the 17th Century farmhouse. Whilst in a rural setting Model Farm Country House is only 8 minutes from the centre of Bridgwater, close to the coast, Quantock Hills, and the towns of Taunton, Glastonbury and Wells. There are many footpaths in the area that can be accessed directly from the house, the Parrett Way passes nearby and the village of Cannington with its Church, walled garden, shops and pubs is a pleasant walk.

About Model Farm:

This self-catering country house is very versatile and has 10 bedrooms that can be set up as either large doubles or singles, with additional beds in some of the family rooms. This means that the house can accommodate up to 25 guests, ideal for family and friend get-togethers.

Five of the bedrooms have en suite shower rooms and there are 3 additional bathrooms. All the beds are new and previous guests have told us they are extremely comfortable. The furniture is mainly antique and in keeping with the late Victorian and Edwardian eras. The Victorian kitchen/dining room can seat large groups together with ample Royal Doulton crockery. The Cider Barn kitchen/diner is next to the loggia and is ideal for food preparation for cooking in the BBQ.

There are 4 acres of landscaped gardens with thousands of plants and plenty of room for games like croquet or football and a large Scandinavian-style hot tub with room for 8/9 people.

Somerset is world-renowned for its diverse natural beauty, from the remarkable Karst limestone landscapes and caves of Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole to inspiring areas of outstanding natural beauty, such as the Quantock and Mendip hills, and the Exmoor National Park.

Complementing nature, Somerset has a wealth of attractions, set amongst its many picturesque towns and villages; Glastonbury Tor, Wells Cathedral, The Bridgwater and Taunton Canal and cider mills galore.

Dove Farm Cottages, Ellastone, Ashbourne, Derbyshire (Sleeps 1-16)

Three comfortable and well-equipped barn conversions, that feel like home from home. With a separate large dining room to seat 18. Perfect for gathering everyone around the table. Ideal venue for getting together with friends or celebrating family occasions. The cottages are grouped around an attractive, shared patio garden, with easy access for those guests with reduced mobility. Dove farm cottages specialise in short breaks for groups, as well as offering individual cottages.

Barn Owl Cottage:

This spacious 3 bedroom holiday cottage can sleep 7 plus children in a twin room, a family room and a triple bedroom. The living room has SKY TV, Wi-Fi, books, toys and DVDs. The kitchen is well equipped and opens out onto a shared patio area.

Swallow Cottage:

Swallow Cottage is the middle one of the 3 cottages and can accommodate 4 people in a double and twin bedroom. There is a generous living/dining room which has SKY TV, WiFi, DVD player, DVDs, books, board games etc. Groups of guests hiring all three properties, enjoy gathering in this informal space. A light and airy, modern kitchen complete the layout of this cottage.

Wren Cottage:

This cosy 2 bedroom cottage can sleep 5 people in a double bedroom and a triple bedroom, which has a single bed plus full-size bunk beds. There is a sofabed in the living room, which enables larger groups hiring all cottages, to use this space as an extra “bedroom”. The kitchen is well equipped, with a Range cooker and an American style fridge/freezer. Ideal set up, if you are cooking for a larger group. Just pop next door to the studio dining room, to serve. Or perhaps bring in caterers?

Dove Dining Studio:

The Dove dining studio is a versatile space when hired together with the 3 adjoining cottages at Dove Farm.

It works equally well as a dining room, a celebration space, a training room for workshops and a place to congregate for retreats. There is an entrance area, leading directly from the car park, a kitchenette and 2 x additional toilets.

The farm looks out onto open fields, leading down to the River Dove. There is a farm and riverside walk for the exclusive use of dove farm guests. There are other walks from the farm gate and an award-winning pub restaurant, just 5 mins walking distance. The river marks the border between Derbyshire and Staffordshire – with so much to see and do within easy travel of the holiday cottages. Alton Towers is only 4 miles away. Other attractions include Sudbury Hall and Museum of Childhood, Churnet Valley railway, Carsington Water, Chatsworth and Dovedale, Trentham Gardens and the National Memorial Arboretum.

The Manor House offers wonderful self-catering accommodation in Eardisland near Leominster. Our Grade II listed property dates from the 17th Century and comes with an acre of grounds on the banks of the River Arrow.

Furnished with luxury and relaxation in mind, the house offers a mix of traditional style and 21st-century technology such as a 60 inch flat-screen TV with Sky.

The ground floor comprises a large kitchen with an Aga and a kitchen table seating 6-10, a study, sitting room, living room with baby grand piano and an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. A separate dining room seats up to 22. 

The 11 bedrooms include 3 four-posters, 6 en suites and 2 bath/shower rooms, with the house sleeping up to 28 people.

The while family can enjoy the games barn which has a pool table, tennis table, dartboard, air hockey and a football table.

The Manor House is about 5 miles west of Leominster, 15 miles from Hereford and 10 miles from the Welsh and Shropshire borders. Visit the dovecote or the 14th century Parish Church in the village, take a walk along Offa's Dyke or see the fine houses and castles at Ludlow and Stokesay. Oxford, the Cotswolds and Shakespeare's Stratford-on-Avon can all be reached within 2 hours.

Hollyhock House offers stunning self catering accommodation in the quintessentially English village of Stonesfield. Their luxurious farmhouse in Oxfordshire is nestled in a tranquil countryside setting, perfect for an idyllic holiday.

Their peaceful farmhouse has 5 spacious and lavish bedrooms available: 2 doubles, 2 kings and a triple bunk bed in the children’s room. Three bedrooms have en suite facilities, including a master bedroom with an opulent roll top bath and large shower. Additional beds include a double sofa bed downstairs in the snug. 3 additional single pop up metal frame beds can be moved to any room in the house.

All the bedrooms come with beautiful bed linen from Ralph Laurent, Joules, John Lewis and Dorma. Towels, hair dryers, shampoo and body wash are provided. Each bedroom benefits from having Freeview TV and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities.

They have a beautifully planted and tended garden including a unique Arctic Cabin BBQ hut. This wonderful cabin provided a fantastic place to enjoy a glass or two with friends after a day exploring The Cotswolds. The cabin has been lovingly furnished in a Scandinavian theme, with cosy reindeer skins on the seats. A magical ambience is completed by pretty lights and plugs for you to plug in stereos etc. The outside area also has a small pond and a stepped terrace to the lower lawns.

The quaint village of Stonesfield is renowned for its slate mines and the tiles/slates which cover the magnificent buildings of the Oxford universities. You can take a leisurely stroll through the village which has a pub, shop, hairdressers, children’s playground, village hall and tennis courts. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy hiking the Oxfordshire Way which is right on our doorstep. We are in great a hacking area too if you fancy bringing your own house. You can enjoy easy access to Oxford, Bicester Village, Bourton-on-the-water, Moreton-in the Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford, Cheltenham and a variety of other towns. Cats Abbey in Sherborne offers stunning self-catering accommodation in a wonderful setting. The property is a perfect gathering place for groups of up to 36 people, ideal for friends, families and small business conferences. It was designed and built for exactly that purpose. Halfway between Oxford and Cheltenham, in the centre of the Cotswolds, we are within easy to reach from anywhere in the UK.

The Barn offers gorgeous and stylish accommodation, ideal for groups looking for somewhere special to stay.

Most of the bedrooms are in The Barn but some are in The Studio and The Cottage as well. In total there are 11 beautiful bedrooms, 9 of which have en suite wet-room showers and 2 interconnecting rooms with an adjoining shower room.

The huge living space, with a heated flagstone floor, wood-burning stove, gallery and beams, is probably the best barn conversion for miles around. Facilities include a TV with Satellite and an integrated amplifier has two large speakers which allow Bluetooth to be played throughout. The dining space can seat up to 30, and the kitchen has everything you would ever want.

Our open front terrace faces southwards and comes with a large table with seating, underfloor heating and wood-burning stove. This is another great area for eating with friends or family.

We have 2 1/2 acres of former farmyard, with decks and seating areas dotted around the place. Ideal for admiring spectacular views over the Cotswolds and the Windrush Valley.

We are fortunate to be in an excellent location, halfway between Oxford and Cheltenham. Cheltenham is home to lots of superb cultural attractions, including many museums of galleries. Oxford is jam-packed with brilliant things to do, including seeing its stunning architecture and learning about its fascinating history. Excellent attractions include Oxford Castle, Radcliffe Camera, Oxford Botanic Garden, Montpellier Gardens & The Wilson.

Newhouse Farm Cottages is a rural retreat of 9 cottages set in 30 acres of courtyard gardens, organic fields and woodland in the heart of Devon at Witheridge.

Whether you are looking for a romantic break, a memory-making family holiday or a friend and family get-together, Newhouse Farm Cottages is the perfect venue. It can sleep up to 47 guests at any one time. For large groups, the function room, The Hayloft, is available for dining, meeting and partying, which means that everyone can come together when they want and return to the privacy of their own cottage for relaxation when needed!


The 30 acres of grounds are not farmed regularly and so, being free from pesticides, there is an abundance of wildlife. Regularly spotted roaming the fields are red deer, hares and badgers. Birds including buzzards, woodpeckers, barn owls, nuthatches and bullfinches can be seen either soaring high in the sky or eating from one of the many feeders dotted around.

The children’s outdoor play area has swings, slides and a climbing wall as well as a 4-metre trampoline with a safety enclosure net. There is a basketball hoop and football goal as well as large fields for football, cricket or rounders matches. Tennis can be played on the village court – it's free for our guests to use but the equipment is not provided and booking is essential.
