Flat Spaces is situated in a peaceful Hampshire countryside location overlooking the famous Watercress Line Steam Railway. The property provides an excellent base for exploring nearby destinations including Winchester, The New Forest and a range of historic towns, pubs and restaurants.

Honeysuckle Cottage – Sleeps 8

Honeysuckle Cottage features one ground-floor bedroom with an en suite, fully disabled-accessible wet room. Upstairs, there are two additional bedrooms, one of which benefits from an en suite bathroom. The cottage offers a generous sitting/dining room, a separate well-equipped kitchen, and an additional ground-floor shower room. Outside, guests can enjoy a private, enclosed garden, ideal for families with small children and dogs, as well as a private hot tub.

Rose Cottage – Sleeps 8

Rose Cottage is the largest of the four properties internally and boasts a stunning entrance hall showcasing the original granary beams. The cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps up to eight guests. One ground-floor bedroom includes a fully disabled-accessible wet room, while upstairs there are two further bedrooms and a shower/bathroom. The property also features a generously sized, well-equipped kitchen/diner, a separate lounge with TV and DVD player, and an additional ground-floor W.C. Doors lead out to a patio area and shared garden, where a hot tub is available for guests’ use.

Lavender Cottage – Sleeps 4 plus a Baby

Lavender Cottage has a light and airy atmosphere with ample living space. The well-equipped kitchen is open plan to a recently added conservatory/diner overlooking the central courtyard and shared garden. There is also a separate lounge with television and DVD player. The entire cottage is on the ground floor and offers two spacious bedrooms. One bedroom includes a fully electric profiling bed alongside a standard single bed, while the second bedroom features a super-king bed that can be separated into two singles if required. A fully accessible wet room completes the accommodation.

Wisteria Cottage

Wisteria Cottage is the newest addition to the collection and offers spacious accommodation with three bedrooms. On the ground floor, there is a well-equipped kitchen and a lounge with Freeview TV. The cottage benefits from both an en suite wet room and a bathroom. Outside, guests can enjoy a semi-covered terrace, ideal for al fresco dining, as well as a hot tub.

Visiting the Area

The nearest village, Chale Green, is approximately two miles away and offers a village shop with Post Office, delicatessen and cafĂ©. Slightly further afield are the picturesque villages of Shorwell and Brighstone, known for their thatched cottages and ancient churches, along with local pubs, shops and post offices. Newport, the Island’s county town, is around a fifteen-minute drive.

Due to the rural location, guests are advised to have their own transport, as the cottages are not situated on a bus route.

The cottages are approximately two miles from Blackgang Chine theme park, making them ideal for families. They are also perfectly positioned for exploring the stunning beaches and chines along the south-west coast. Ventnor Botanic Gardens, incorporating the fascinating undercliff, is just a fifteen-minute drive away. With minimal street lighting in the area, the night skies are especially dark, making the location ideal for stargazing.

Accommodation

The cottage sleeps up to six guests and enjoys far-reaching views across the Castlereagh and Craigantlet Hills, extending as far as Scrabo Tower. Designed with accessibility in mind, the property is well suited to elderly guests and those with disabilities. A ramp leads from the courtyard to the double front doors, and all doors, light switches, handles and appliances are accessible for wheelchair and walking-frame users. A welcome pack is provided on arrival.

Accommodation is arranged over two floors. On the first floor, a cosy sitting room features a television, DVD player and a wood-burning stove, creating a relaxing space to unwind. The dining room comfortably seats six guests.

West Heath is a spacious and luxurious self-catering house, beautifully positioned in the coastal village of Brancaster Staithe. Just a short walk from the village hub, harbour, popular pubs, coastal paths and local shops, it offers everything families or groups of friends could wish for. Designed with sustainability in mind, the house features a bright, open-plan layout that is perfect for relaxing or entertaining. Guests can enjoy a summer barbecue on the large south-west-facing terrace or curl up by the wood-burning stove during the winter months.

Accommodation

The ground floor includes a mobility-friendly, step-free bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, along with a snug featuring a 65-inch smart TV with multiple streaming services. A utility room provides additional convenience, equipped with a wine fridge, Belfast sink, washer and dryer. A downstairs cloakroom and a welcoming hallway with generous hanging space complete the entrance area.

At the heart of West Heath is the expansive kitchen, dining and sitting area. The modern kitchen is equipped with two ovens, including a steam oven, a microwave, plate warmer, Bora hob, dishwasher, boiling-water tap, coffee machine and a full range of mixers and food-prep equipment. Upstairs, there are two further bedrooms: one with a super-king bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, and another with twin beds and an en-suite shower room. In the garden cabin, two additional twin rooms share a shower room, offering flexible accommodation for larger groups. The property provides parking for three cars and is secured by electric gates. At the entrance sits The Siding, a beautifully renovated one-bedroom guesthouse sleeping two, which can be rented alongside West Heath or independently.

West Heath can be booked for groups of six, ten or twelve.

For six guests, the main house is included, offering three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

For ten guests, the garden cabin is added, providing two twin bedrooms and a shared shower room.

For twelve guests, The Siding is also included, featuring a super-king bedroom, private terrace, well-equipped kitchen, modern living space, smart TV, storage and its own parking area.

Our luxurious cottage sits in its own grounds and is ideal for a family or group looking for somewhere special to stay. The house is elegantly furnished and guests have access to 17 acres of grounds.

On the ground floor is a relaxing open plan living area with comfy seating, a flat-screen TV with Sky and a DVD player. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and comes with a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave etc. The ground floor also has a super king/twin room with en suite facilities.

The first floor has 2 super king/twin rooms with en suite facilities. Both rooms have a TV, sofa and sitting area, the ideal spot for a morning coffee.

Visiting Aberfeldy & Exploring Perthshire
Our property provides a quiet and peaceful retreat for those who are looking to explore the Upper Tay Valley and the beautiful Perthshire countryside. Aberfeldy is our local small market town and the heart of all that goes on in the Upper Tay Valley. There are lots of scenic single-track back roads worth exploring, including the road from Amulree to Kenmore, through Glenquaich and over the hill into Kenmore which has stunning views of Loch Tay. Edinburgh is around 1 ½ hours away and has so much to see, including Edinburgh Castle and The Royal Mile. Alternatively, head to Aviemore and enjoy the ski slopes of Cairngorm.
