Old Hall Farm offers three self-catering holiday cottages set within the charming Suffolk village of Walpole, close to the market town of Halesworth. With beautifully appointed country-style interiors and all the comforts of a true home from home, the cottages provide a peaceful and relaxing retreat in a rural setting.
Old Corn Mill (Sleeps 6)
Old Corn Mill is the largest of the three properties and is a striking barn conversion offering spacious accommodation for up to six guests. The open-plan kitchen and dining area features a full-height vaulted ceiling, creating an impressive and airy space. Once used for grinding corn from the farm’s arable land, the barn retains a wealth of original beams and character, resulting in a truly memorable holiday home.
Old Dairy (Sleeps 4)
The Old Dairy, once used for milk storage, sits at the centre of the courtyard and has a slightly more contemporary feel. The ground floor features real wood flooring throughout and includes a modern duck egg blue kitchen leading into a comfortable sitting room with a red brick fireplace, complete with an electric wood burner, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Henry’s Barn (Sleeps 6)
Henry’s Barn is named after a much-loved golden Labrador who lived there many years ago. This beautifully converted barn retains its original beamed character while offering all the modern facilities expected from high-quality accommodation. Guests can enjoy stunning views across the meadows, with large patio doors and a private terrace allowing full appreciation of the beautiful surroundings.
When all three cottages are booked together, Old Hall Farm can accommodate up to 16 guests. All cottages are located within the same courtyard, making them ideal for family gatherings or group holidays.
Guests have access to an indoor play barn, which houses a well-equipped games room featuring table tennis, a pool table and a giant draughts board. An adjoining astro turf pitch provides space for football, hockey, tennis or energetic family fun. A swimming pool, located in a large conservatory-style building, is available for guest use between Easter and September.
Local Area
The cottages are just a short walk from the picturesque village of Walpole and lie only two miles from the thriving market town of Halesworth. This location offers an excellent base for exploring Suffolk and the renowned Heritage Coast, including Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich, Thorpeness and Aldeburgh. The Norfolk border is just eight miles away, with Beccles and the gateway to the Broads also within easy reach.
The coastal town of Southwold is nearby and well worth a visit, with its beach, lighthouse, colourful beach huts and traditional pier featuring classic amusements and Punch and Judy shows. Aldeburgh and the postcard-perfect village of Walberswick also make excellent day trips.
