Intake Cottage & Swallows Byre offer self catering holiday accommodation located just 1 mile west of Low Row, which is close to Richmond in North Yorkshire. The cottages have the advantage of being situated in a unique spot; both close to the tranquillity of the River Swale and not too far from the local amenities. There are lush green valleys, patchwork fields and a freshwater river, making it an ideal location for walking, cycling, sightseeing, trout fishing, painting or just plain relaxing.

Intake Cottage cottage comes with great character including a beamed ceiling, original flagged stone floors and a stone and cast iron open fire in the sitting/dining room. Four people can be accommodated in the two upstairs bedrooms.  At the front of the cottage is a private raised garden. It overlooks the River Swale and is south facing. The patio terrace with garden furniture is ideal for barbeques and picnics.

Swallows Byre is a cosy cottage for 2 and is situated over the garden wall of Intake Cottage. It enjoys the same south-facing views and is a lovely place to stay for those who want to rest and recuperate. To ensure you can make the most of these views at any time of day, we have used the first floor as the main living space. This living/dining room has a wood burner and doors leading out to a roof terrace. Outside is a garden & summer house as well as a BBQ area for those days you want to dine outside.

There are many local walks and mountain bike routes starting from Low Row, several of which are depicted in guidebooks at the cottage.

The Chalet at Cairnacre is located just outside of Hebden Bridge in Midgehole, West Yorkshire. Our holiday cottage sleeps 2 and has a separate bedroom, lounge/diner, kitchen and shower room with electric heating throughout. There are facilities to dry clothing and walking boots. The storm porch provides space for bikes, outdoor gear and boots.

In dry weather, you have space for a barbecue or sitting in the garden.

It is 2 miles from Hebden Bridge in a woodland garden, close to riverside and hill walks and easily accessible by car or taxi.

Hebden Bridge was described as the 4th quirkiest town in the world and the town with the most independent shops on the High Street! It is a popular walking and cycling area, with National Trust woodland nearby. The town has a theatre, cinema, jazz and arts festival; park, canal, Alternative Technology Centre; shops selling antiques, books, for charity, china, craft, jewellery, and shoes. There are food shops and delicatessens, cafes, pubs, and restaurants catering for most tastes.

The Pennine Way and Calderdale Way are within 2 miles and Haworth and Bronte country within 8 miles. Tourist Information is found at Hebden Bridge, Todmorden and Halifax.

Sambrook Manor Cottages, Sambrook, Shropshire (Sleeps 1-10)

Sambrook Manor Cottages offers self-catering holiday cottages in Sambrook, Shropshire. Some of the bedrooms for the cottages are on the ground floor making it easier for the elderly and less mobile. 

The Old Shippon is our largest holiday cottage and sleeps 8 (10 with the additional sofa bed in the upstairs living room). It has 4 bedrooms (2 doubles & 2 twins), 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen/diner and a spacious living room with an upstairs mezzanine quiet area. The cottage is very well laid out for two families who want to stay in the same cottage but also wish to have a bit of space to themselves. The garden and patio area are accessed by the living room and offer the best view in Sambrook. 

Churn Cottage is a delightful cottage that sleeps 4 in two bedrooms (one double & one twin). A wet room bathroom, living room and kitchen/diner are available. It is suitable for assisted wheelchair users. The living room leads out onto the garden and patio area which has a table, chairs, sun umbrella and charcoal BBQ. This side of the cottage catches the evening sun and is a great place to unwind. 

The Stables is a two-bedroom barn conversion that sleeps up to 7 people. On the ground floor, there is a double room with exposed beams and an en suite room. Upstairs there is a lovely living room with double doors which lead to the patio area. The first floor also has a living room and a large triple bedroom with a double and single bed, family bathroom and double en suite room. 

There are many activities to entertain guests of all ages in Shropshire, many of which are within easy reach of the cottages. You can enjoy, fishing, horse riding and golf as well as countryside walks and cycle rides which can be enjoyed from the doorstep. Sambrook itself is a lovely village to have a stroll around.

Weir Cottage, Restronguet Weir, Falmouth, Cornwall (Sleeps 1-8)

Weir Cottage offers superb self-catering accommodation in a stunning position, boasting breathtaking views over Restronguet Creek and the Carrick Roads. The property adjoins a private shingle beach, perfect for launching a small boat by prior arrangement. We are close to Falmouth and great for an idyllic break in Cornwall.

Our beautiful cottage is ideal for a special break in a scenic and tranquil setting. The cottage is tastefully furnished and comes with a range of excellent facilities.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms, all of which enjoy amazing views over the water. The master bedroom has a double en suite and a double and two twins are also available. 

Outside there is a lovely garden to enjoy and a BBQ is available, great for al fresco dining whilst savouring the view.

Only a short walk along the Creekside footpath is the 13th Century Pandora Inn. Access involves crossing a tidal beach. Mylor Yacht Harbour is just a short drive away and the house is perfectly placed for all that Cornwall has to offer, from the magnificent coastline and beaches to glorious gardens, castles and museums.

Tigh na Boireach offers self-catering accommodation in North Uist. This romantic cottage is an ideal retreat or honeymoon destination.

We are trying to offer sustainable eco-friendly holiday accommodation without compromising on comfort and quality. 

We have raised vegetable beds which we have planted up with potatoes which guests are welcome to help themselves to in the second half of the season when they are ready for harvesting (no guarantees though!). The cottage is historic grade C listed, yet has modern facilities.

The kitchen features a luxurious oak worktop and pale cream painted units.

The living space is the perfect place to relax. The comfy leather suite and realistic electric fire make the room feel cosy and warm. 

The bedroom features an impressive four-poster double bed complete with organza drapes to give a feeling of luxury. 

Tigh na Boireach is a picture postcard house that encapsulates the traditional style of the Scottish Blackhouse. It is surrounded by its own garden which includes a variety of ways for you to enjoy the outdoor space. 

The cottage provides a perfect base for island exploration and there are numerous outdoor activities to enjoy. There are many walks that are suitable for all ages and abilities that offer a great way to engage with the unique landscape. Riverside Cottage and Lydia's River Cottage offers luxurious self-catering accommodation on the banks of the River Greta in a quiet country location. We are a only 10 minutes flat walk by the river to Keswick town centre and the bus stop is only 50 yards from the door.

Lydia’s River Cottage - Sleeps 4. This charming cottage dates from the 1800s and now offers high-quality accommodation, ideal for an unforgettable getaway. Outside there is a spacious riverside patio above the river, the perfect spot for a morning coffee whilst admiring the view. Upstairs there are two bedrooms: a double with river views and a twin with views over the rooftops to Walla Crag. 

Riverside Cottage – Sleeps 5. This beautiful cottage was built in 1903 and offers stunning views over the river from the private patio. Garden furniture is also provided, great for al fresco dining whilst savouring your surroundings. Three comfortable bedrooms are available: a double, twin and single room. The double and twin both enjoy river views and the single looks over the rooftops to Wall Crag. 

Keswick has a reputation for being the tourist centre of the Northern Lakes, yet it still retains the old-world charm of a Lakeland market town, with its many speciality shops, galleries, restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes and ages. It nestles on the shores of Derwentwater overlooked by the impressive peaks of Skiddaw, Latrigg and Helvellyn, a beautiful base from which to explore the many delights of the Lake District and beyond.
