Rough Top Holiday Cottage offers fabulous self-catering accommodation near the market town of Hebden Bridge. We are perfect for an idyllic break in West Yorkshire.

Accommodation

Our cottage dates from 1650 and offers lots of original character plus modern features. The cottage sleeps up to 4 people, ideal for family or group holidays.

Inside we have a comfy lounge to relax in after a day sightseeing. Facilities include comfy seating, a flat-screen TV, a DVD player and an open fire. A games area includes a variety of family games and there is a well-stocked bookcase.

A well-equipped rustic kitchen comes with a range of appliances: an electric cooker with double oven, 4 hot plates and grill, plus a dishwasher, fridge & freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, pans and ovenware.

On the ground floor, we have a single bedroom with an old, beamed ceiling and a ground-floor shower room. Upstairs there is a double and twin room. The double comes with a TV and there is an upstairs shower room.

Outside we have a paved patio with a wooden garden table and chairs, perfect for al fresco dining over a glass or two. The garden is fenced and comes with seating, a picnic table and chairs. We also have a nature garden to enjoy.

Visiting Hebden Bridge & Exploring West Yorkshire

We are perfectly positioned for exploring the town of Hebden Bridge, home to inns, restaurants, cafes, galleries, gift shops and boutiques. You can visit Todmorden Town Hall which offers a free tour on the first Sunday of every month. Enjoy a family day out in Halifax and visit the National Children’s Museum Eureka.

Old Town Hall Cottage is a picturesque early 17th Century Grade II listed two bedroomed country cottage in the heart of Old Town village, near to the tourist township of Hebden Bridge in the South Pennines. The holiday cottage has recently been renovated, retaining many original features including an open fireplace, mullioned windows and original oak beams, and has been comfortably furnished to accommodate 4 people.

Accommodation
Our charming cottage comes with everything you need for an unforgettable holiday in a great location. We even offer a delightful welcome food pack, fresh fruit, flowers and complimentary toiletries.

The cosy lounge is full of character, including a flat-screen smart TV and DVD player, Bluetooth CD microsystem and comfy seating. The kitchen/diner has new units and appliances for 2021, perfect for the enthusiastic home-cook! Appliances include an electric oven, gas hob, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle & toaster & breakfast table & chairs.

A fabulous new bathroom suite has a luxurious walk-in shower and underfloor heating. Two lovely bedrooms are available, a double and bunk room. We provide quality Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels.

There is private parking for 2 cars alongside the holiday cottage garden and a small patio area with table and chairs, perfect for al fresco dining on a sunny day.

Visiting Wadsworth & Exploring West Yorkshire
The village has 2 public houses selling traditional beers and providing home-cooked pub food, both are within 0.5 miles of the cottage. Set in spectacular scenery, the cottage is an excellent base for walking and is only a 15-minute drive away from historic Haworth, the home of the Brontes, and the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, the original location of 'The Railway Children'. Further attractions to visit include:

Heptonstall Museum.
Hardcastle Crags.
Boulsworth Hill.
Rochdale Canal.

Halstead Green Farm offers superb self-catering accommodation in Colden near Hebden Bridge. Our property in West Yorkshire is perfect for a tranquil breakaway.

Accommodation:
The charming property sleeps up to 12 people and is the ideal place to stay for all the family. We are situated in rolling countryside and the property enjoys spectacular views.

On the ground floor, there is a lovely open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting area. The kitchen is fully equipped with a range of appliances to suit all your needs: an electric oven with stainless steel extractor hood and a Belfast sink. The sitting area is a wonderful space to relax in and comes with a snug area and multi-fuel stove. The stunning mullion windows overlook the front of the property. Outside the kitchen is a decking area with seating. A great place for a spot of al fresco dining. A second sitting room is at the front of the property.

We have 5 double/twin bedrooms available. A number of chair beds are also available. A large four-piece bathroom suite comes with a walk-in shower, his and her sinks and a WC is available.

Outside there is a beautiful stone-flagged patio area and garden with seating. The perfect place for an afternoon tipple whilst savouring the vista.

Visiting Colden & Exploring West Yorkshire:
We are a great base to explore a range of attractions in the local area. In nearby Hebden Bridge there many independent shops, cafes and cinemas. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walkers, horse riders and cyclists. The Pennine Way passes within half a mile or so and there are many footpaths, cycles and bridleways to explore. Hardcastle Castle is a favourite of walkers and comprises of two wooded valleys. It is owned by the National Trust and is a great place to visit for all the family. Lots of attractions are nearby:

Parsonage Museum.
Bolton Abbey.
Gawthorpe Hall.
Towneley Hall.

The Chalet at Cairnacre is located just outside of Hebden Bridge in Midgehole, West Yorkshire. Our holiday cottage sleeps 2 and has a separate bedroom, lounge/diner, kitchen and shower room with electric heating throughout. There are facilities to dry clothing and walking boots. The storm porch provides space for bikes, outdoor gear and boots.

In dry weather, you have space for a barbecue or sitting in the garden.

It is 2 miles from Hebden Bridge in a woodland garden, close to riverside and hill walks and easily accessible by car or taxi.

Hebden Bridge was described as the 4th quirkiest town in the world and the town with the most independent shops on the High Street! It is a popular walking and cycling area, with National Trust woodland nearby. The town has a theatre, cinema, jazz and arts festival; park, canal, Alternative Technology Centre; shops selling antiques, books, for charity, china, craft, jewellery, and shoes. There are food shops and delicatessens, cafes, pubs, and restaurants catering for most tastes.

The Pennine Way and Calderdale Way are within 2 miles and Haworth and Bronte country within 8 miles. Tourist Information is found at Hebden Bridge, Todmorden and Halifax.
