Hidden Lake, Poole, Dorset


Hidden Lake is a secluded luxury home on the south coast of Dorset, just moments from Sandbanks, where ideas, connections and experiences come together. Surrounded by stunning scenery, with versatile living spaces and a calm, peaceful ambience, the property provides an exceptional setting to unwind, create, socialise and entertain.

Accommodation

The house enjoys breathtaking views across the lake and golf course from all principal rooms and combines outstanding luxury with generous space and activities for both adults and children. Designed to feel indulgent yet relaxed, Hidden Lake offers comfort, privacy and enjoyment in equal measure.

This large and beautifully appointed home features an indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room, along with a hot tub and a spacious sun terrace with barbecue facilities. Guests can also enjoy a private football pitch with floodlights, a fully equipped gym, a dedicated office and a wide range of entertainment options, including table tennis, pool, darts and a large playroom with double-height ceilings, a slide and a basketball area. The property includes multiple reception rooms, six bedrooms, six bathrooms and gated parking for several vehicles.

The location and views are even more impressive in person, offering a rare sense of seclusion while remaining close to award-winning beaches, bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants and food shops. Every detail has been carefully considered, with expansive glass panels framing the scenery, luxury Gaggenau appliances, bespoke built-in furniture and cleverly designed hidden rooms throughout the house.

Inside, children can enjoy a large playroom filled with toys and games, while adults can relax in a comfortable lounge with a large television. There is also a separate children’s TV room, which reflects regular family use. The gym is available for guest use, including the Peloton bike, although guests will need their own Peloton account to access it.

The master bedroom features a striking fixed glass window with uninterrupted views along the lake, as well as a large private terrace. Three additional bedrooms have balconies overlooking the lake and golf course, while another bedroom benefits from a corner window seat with floor-to-ceiling glazing and views across the garden and water beyond.

The garden is designed for outdoor enjoyment, with two slides leading from the terrace, including a larger tunnel slide suitable for adventurous children and adults. There are also swings and a large trampoline, making the outdoor space ideal for families. Some of Dorset’s most beautiful beaches are close by, including Sandbanks Beach, just over a mile away.

Guests have access to the entire house and grounds, including the garden, football pitch, sauna, steam room, hot tub, games room and playroom. The only areas not accessible are the garage and a small storage cupboard on each floor.

For an additional charge, a beach hut can be hired at Branksome Chine Beach. The hut is equipped with cooking facilities, chairs, cutlery, crockery and a selection of toys and games.

Visiting the Area

Poole and the surrounding area offer a wonderful blend of coastal charm, natural beauty and family-friendly attractions. Visitors can relax on golden sandy beaches such as the famous Sandbanks Beach or explore Europe’s largest natural harbour, with opportunities for boat trips, kayaking, paddleboarding and scenic cruises. Poole Quay and the historic Old Town provide a variety of shops, pubs and cafés, while Compton Acres offers beautifully landscaped gardens.

Nature lovers can enjoy Poole Park, wildlife and walking trails around Holes Bay and nearby RSPB reserves, and peaceful walks on Brownsea Island, renowned for birdlife and natural scenery. There are also many excellent day-out options close by, from family-friendly attractions to historic sites and coastal walks showcasing the very best of Dorset’s coastline and countryside.

Torridge House Cottages, Little Torrington, Bideford, North Devon (Sleeps 1-8)


Torridge House Cottages are nestled in the peaceful Devonshire countryside in the small village of Little Torrington. These charming self catering holiday cottages benefit from unspoilt panoramic views of wooded valleys, rolling hills and distant farms, making this the ideal family location for a truly relaxing holiday in the beautiful South West.

About Lin and Hay Cottages
Lin Cottage sleeps up to 4 and has a cosy living room with TV and DVD player. The cottage is heated via fully controlled central heating to ensure the cottage stays warm and cosy even when the weather outside may differ! Downstairs, there is a well-appointed kitchen with a small dining table and fridge, plus everything else needed to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. There are two bedrooms – one with a double bed plus hand basin and the second bedroom is a twin room. The bath/shower room is located downstairs.

Hay Cottage is a mirror image of Lin Cottage. It also sleeps up to 4 in two bedrooms; one with a double bed plus hand basin, and twin bedded room. The bath/shower room is located on the ground floor as well as the living room which has a TV, DVD player and has fully controlled central heating throughout. Downstairs, the kitchen has a small dining table, fridge etc. The cottage has Wi-Fi access.

Duck Cottage
This barn conversion can sleep 8 people in 2 king size bedrooms and 2 twins. There is a farmhouse style kitchen/diner and living room with a wood burner. The living area boasts stunning countryside views.

Hen Cottage
This garden cottage can sleep 6 in a king size en suite and 2 twins. The living space is open plan and well equipped. The cottage enjoys glorious wood valley and pastoral views.

Stag Cottage
This spacious property can sleep 4 in a king size and twin room.

Tithe Cottage
Tithe Cottage is south facing with wonderful views. It can sleep 6/7 in a king size, twin and double with a toddler bed. A cosy lounge/dining room has French doors that open onto the garden. Cook up a storm in the fully-equipped kitchen/breakfast room.

Barn Cottage
Barn has great views and a southerly aspect. It can sleep 4 in a king and twin room. Both rooms share a bathroom. A gorgeous south facing lounge has French doors which open onto the gardens.

Drawing Room Cottage
This spacious accommodation is in the east wing of the rectory. Entered from the gardens this sought after cottage has lots of lawn just outside, ideal for relaxing, play and BBQs. it can sleep 5/6 king 4-poster, a double bed and two 3’ foot single beds. A focal point is the magnificent drawing room which has a tall ceiling adorned with plaster covings, a marble fireplace and chandelier lighting.

Courtyard Cottage
Our delightful cottage sleeps 6 in a king room and 2 twin rooms. The rooms share a bathroom. A lovely oak beamed living room is bursting with character and the kitchen is fully-equipped for home cooking.

Onsite Facilities
Guests are welcome to use the onsite heated swimming pool with baby pool. The pool is open from end May to mid of September (weather permitting). Within the gardens and grounds, there is also a grass ball play area, lots of space to play or relax in the gardens, a games room with table tennis and pool, junior air hockey and table football, a playroom with indoor sandpit and home area plus a selection of push along with toys etc.

Visiting Little Torrington & Exploring North Devon
We are on the edge of the tiny village of Little Torrington. Our gardens and cottages are mostly surrounded by fields and private woodland to which there is no public access. The grounds and gardens around the cottages are therefore very private. Little Torrington is a tiny village with some houses, a church and a village hall. It is 8 miles south of Bideford, 20 minutes from the beaches of Westward Ho! and Instow as well as being some 30 minutes from Dartmoor. The historic town of Great Torrington is two miles away. Superb attractions to visit include:
