Beside the Loch is beautifully located on the shores of Loch Linnhe, offering self-catering cabins that seamlessly blend modern comfort with the timeless allure of the Scottish Highlands. The cabins, named Rowan, Ash, and Birch, are strategically perched at the top of the gardens, designed to maximize the stunning loch and mountain views. Each cabin features an open-plan living space, centred around large picture windows that capture the dramatic scenery. Guests can relax on cosy sofas, enjoy meals around the dining table, or prepare food in the fully equipped kitchens, which come with NEFF ovens and microwaves, fridges, and dishwashers.

There are two double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom—one with a bath and the other with a shower. Like the cabins, the cottage is surrounded by lush gardens and is just a short walk from Cuilcheanna Bay.

For those seeking a budget-friendly option, the nostalgic static caravans on site provide a unique Highland experience. Although these caravans offer a more rustic charm without modern heating, electric blankets and hot water bottles ensure a cosy night’s sleep. The caravans accommodate up to four people, featuring a double bed and two small singles. Facilities include a living area with picturesque views, a comfortable lounge with TV, and a well-equipped kitchen. Each caravan also boasts its own private garden space.

Onsite amenities at Beside the Loch include a personal training studio, wild swimming sessions, SUP hire, stargazing opportunities with a premium telescope, and outdoor dining areas equipped with BBQs and pizza ovens. Appin Holiday Homes offer unique self-catering holiday accommodation in Appin, boasting loch views and surrounded by glorious mountains. We are midway between Oban and Glencoe in Argyll, with Fort William a few miles further north, making this the ideal touring base for comfort and convenience in the Highlands.

Lodges

Our 10 timber lodges are built to a high standard, being warm and welcoming all year. They blend perfectly with the beauty of their surroundings and are the perfect base for shoreline walks. They are all south-facing and enjoy stunning views over Loch Creran from the veranda and balcony areas.

All the lodges are beautifully furnished and come with two bedrooms: a double and a twin. You can unwind in the lovely open-plan living area which comes with a large picture window that takes advantage of the view. A well-equipped kitchen includes a fridge, electric oven, microwave and a full range of crockery, glasses, utensils and pans. You can enjoy a home-cooked meal around the dining table and there is also a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Caravans

We have 8 superb static caravans, with each enjoying magical views over Loch Creran. The views from the caravan window are constantly changing through the seasons, ensuring no two days are the same. All the caravans come with lovely lounge/dining areas, comfy bedrooms, a modern bathroom and well-equipped kitchen. You can also relax on the decking area outside with a glass of wine whilst savouring the views.

The Carriage at Creagan

NEW for 2023 this former GWR train carriage has been restored to provide luxury accommodation for 2 in a handmade king-size bed. No expense has been spared to give you a five-star experience; from the shower room with handmade washstand and double basins, Karndean floors and Hive controlled central heating system and Bedding Envy Egyptian cotton sheets. It comes well equipped with a Dolce Gusto coffee machine, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, smart TV and wood burner. Outside is a secluded area with a fire pit, seating and an undercover roll-top bath.

Visiting Appin & Exploring Argyll

There is lots to do and see around the Appin area, with pony trekking, sealife centre, licensed Inns, cafe & Castle Stalker nearby. Fishing is free, (salt and freshwater). The busy town of Oban with supermarkets, a Leisure Centre, golf, cinema, and island ferries just 20 minutes or so away by car. Great attractions to visit include:

These inviting holiday chalets, with either one or two bedrooms and our three bedrooms, Four Star Holiday Cottage are perfectly appointed for your holiday enjoyment. With wall-to-wall carpeting and full double glazing, they provide a real 'home from home'. The kitchens are well equipped with fridge, cooker, microwave and ironing facilities, and the comfortable lounges have a colour TV. We supply a full linen service and electricity is included in the weekly tariff. We regret that to ensure the enjoyment of all our guests, we are unable to accept pets in our chalets.

Caravans
These inviting holiday caravans are four berth and are perfectly appointed for your holiday enjoyment. UPVC double glazed windows & doors, Steel pantile peaked roof and Internally vaulted & beamed down the full length, they provide a real 'home from home'. The kitchens are well equipped with fridge, cooker and microwave and the comfortable lounges have a colour TV. We supply a full linen service and electricity is included in the weekly tariff. We regret that to ensure the enjoyment of all our guests, we are unable to accept pets in our chalets or caravans.

The park itself is perfectly located in a rural setting just a few minutes stroll from East Runton's golden beach, has been landscaped with ornamental trees and shrubs and complimented with acres of carefully tended grass. Park amenities include a laundry room with washing machines and tumble driers, along with full ironing facilities.

The Black Cock Inn offers a choice of self-catering accommodation available at South Molton in Devon.

Holiday Cottages
We have 2 holiday cottages available to hire all year. Weekly rentals commence on Saturdays, 3 Night Weekend Rentals commence on Fridays and 4 Night Midweek Rentals commence on Mondays. Both cottages share an enclosed courtyard and look out over the garden of the inn.

Hind Cottage 
The cottage sleeps up to six people. A double bedroom is located on the ground floor. Upstairs leads to the open plan living/dining/kitchen area including a dining table, TV and sofa bed. The kitchen has an electric cooker, fridge, microwave and toaster. A second double bedroom and a bathroom is located next to the living area on the 1st floor. Bed linen is provided.

Stag Cottage 
The cottage sleeps up to four people. The cottage has an open plan living/dining/kitchen area including a dining table, TV and sofa bed. The kitchen has an electric cooker, fridge, microwave and toaster. Upstairs leads to the master bedroom and a bathroom featuring an electric shower. The cottage has central heating and bed linen is provided.

Holiday Caravans
We have 5-holiday caravans available to hire between March and November. Weekly rentals commence on Saturdays, 3 Night Weekend Rentals commence on Fridays and 4 Night Midweek Rentals commence on Mondays. Each of our holiday caravans sleeps up to 6 people with 2 bedrooms - a double and twin. The comfortable lounge area converts into the third bedroom. The kitchen comes fully equipped with a full-size fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, iron and all essential utensils. The spacious bathroom includes a toilet, washbasin and shower. Bed linen is provided, however, you must bring your own towels.

The BlackCock Inn is situated just a few miles from Exmoor National Park set in glorious unspoilt countryside. It is perfectly situated to explore a whole range of destinations. It is less than an hour from places such as the Quantocks, Colvelly, Dunster Castle, Lynton, Lynmouth Exeter, Exmouth and Dartmoor.

Not only does the Black Cock offer hearty food and great drink, it also has a campsite right next door and even allows you to bring your horse on holiday and use the onsite stables and paddock.

We also have a campsite for touring caravans, motorhomes and tents to enjoy.
