Orton Holiday Cottages, Orton, Fochabers, Morayshire (Sleeps 1-14)


Orton Holiday Cottages offers charming self catering accommodation in Orton, just a short drive from Fochabers in Morayshire. We are located midway between Inverness and Aberdeen just 8 miles from the stunning stretch of coast. The cottages are also beside the River Spey, one of the most famous fishing rivers in the whole of Scotland.

Accommodation
We have a range of beautifully restored farmhouses and cottages to choose from, offering a lovely blend of rustic charm and modern comforts. From cosy two-bedroom cottages to large farmhouses, we have something for everyone. All the properties come with cosy living areas, well-equipped kitchens, attractive bedrooms and modern bathrooms.

Garbity Farmhouse:
This traditional Scottish farmhouse sleeps 12 plus 2 in six en suite double bedrooms plus two extra single bedrooms. The property boasts original features and includes a spacious dining room, a large farmhouse kitchen, a breakfast room/playroom and a lounge with an open log fireplace.

Mains Of Orton:
Our classic Scottish Highlands farmhouse sleeps 12 people in 6 unique bedrooms. The accommodation includes a spacious lounge with an open fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and an elegant dining room.

Bruntlands Steading:
This luxury cottage sleeps 10 in 5 en suite bedrooms. Unwind in the spacious lounge that comes with an open log fireplace and a dining area that seats 10.

St Mary’s:
Our traditional country house is brimming with character and offers flexible accommodation. The house comes with 2 super king size beds, 1 twin room and 2 rooms that can be made as twin rooms or super king size rooms. A cosy sitting room comes with an open log fire and the dining area seats up to 16. The property is nestled between the riverbank and the pine woodlands.

Lower Bruntlands:
This traditional style Scottish bothy has been modernised to a high standard and sleeps up to 4 people. Inside there are two bedrooms, a traditional farmhouse kitchen and a snug lounge with a toasty log-burning stove.

Garbity Cottage:
Our delightful, modern bothy sleeps 4 people in 1 twin room and a double room with an adjacent toilet on the ground floor. On the upper floor is a further bathroom. The kitchen is well-equipped and the lounge has an open fireplace.

Visiting Orton & Exploring Morayshire
We are close to several of Scotland's famous golf courses on which we can usually arrange for our guests to play while staying with us, from booking tee times to organising transport. We are within easy reach of the seaside, of the Grampian mountains as well as the beautiful unspoilt countryside between them. Apart from exploring the hills and mountains by car or on foot, nearby places of interest include some of Scotland's famous castles and some of its best-known malt whisky distilleries. Excellent attractions to visit include:

Elgin Cathedral.
Brodie Castle.
Bow Fiddle Rock.
Duffus Castle.
Elgin Museum.

Blairbeg, Cray, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, Cairngorms National Park (Sleeps 2-4)


Blairbeg is a cosy cottage just outside the grounds of Cray House. This beautifully appointed holiday home is ideal for couples but can sleep up to 4 people with use of the sofa bed in the living room. It is nestled in a lovely part of Glenshee in Perthshire, at the edge of the Cairngorms National Park and within comfortable driving distance of Blairgowrie.

About Blairbeg
Perfect for couples or families, this lovely retreat is ideal for those who are seeking a place to stay that is peaceful. Originally an old coach house, we have tried where possible to retain the charm and character of the building, whilst offering modern amenities. The accommodation comprises of:

Open plan living space with wooden floors, flag-stone floor and a high beamed ceiling.
Seating area with a Morso wood-burning stove.
Well-equipped kitchen area.
Master bedroom with king-size that can be made as a twin.
Bathroom with shower over the bath.
An additional sofa bed can be found in the living room.
Linen and towels are provided.
Mobile Wi-Fi, Freesat TV, DVD player and CD player.

Dual aspect French doors from the open plan living area allow plenty of natural light into the property, as well as providing access to a private, fully enclosed garden. This is a lovely place for adults to relax, whilst children and dogs play. In addition to the private garden there is:

Visiting Blairbeg & Exploring Perthshire
Blairbeg is ideally situated for those who are looking to explore this wonderful part of the Scottish Highlands. Within easy reach, you can visit attractions and places of interest such as:

Glamis Castles.
Scone Palace.
House of Bruar.
Pitlochry.
Dunkeld.
Perth.
Braemar.

Walking in the area is a must for many visitors. The cottage is ideally located for accessing nearby mountains, hills and glens such as:

Cairngorms National Park.
Glenshee and surrounding munros.
The Cateran Trail.
Strathardle.

Many quality golf courses within 20 miles, such as Rosemount in Blairgowrie, Alyth, Kirriemuir and Braemar. Tomich Holidays is a family-run business offering a selection of high-quality self-catering properties located in a secluded setting above the village of Tomich. This is the perfect base for exploring Beauly, Inverness-shire and the Scottish Highlands.

Courtyard Cottages:
These holiday cottages are very spacious and can accommodate 4 people in a double en suite and a twin room. There are open plan living/dining areas which have a TV, DVD player, electric stove and dining area. The kitchens are traditional and well equipped to include an oven, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, fridge and freezer.

Woodlands Lodge:
These self-catering timber lodges can sleep 6 people in double and 2 twin rooms. The living areas are open plan and modern including a TV, DVD player, electric stove, dining area and well-equipped kitchen.

The lodges also have lovely balcony areas.

Victorian Dairy:
The Victorian Dairy is a stone-built cottage forming part of a Grade B listed building. This is the smallest of our properties and is very comfortable for 2 people, with an extra bunk-bedded room for children.

There is a compact living area which contains a fully equipped kitchen with a washing machine, built-in oven and hob, dining table and chairs. The living space has a leather sofa and TV/DVD player.

Wee Corsee offers charming self-catering accommodation in the market town of Nairn, Nairnshire. This is a popular holiday destination as there is a beautiful harbour, beaches and shops and is also a great base for exploring other places within the Scottish Highlands.

This split level holiday home can sleep 6 people, perfect for a family or group holiday in a lovely part of the country.

Our magical log cabin is a haven for nature lovers, offering wonderful views of the local wildlife, loch and countryside. We truly offer the ultimate in relaxation and tranquillity.

The cabin sleeps up to 4 people and is tastefully furnished throughout to suit all your needs. A well-equipped kitchen is great for home-cooking and includes a washing machine, fridge, toaster, hob, coffee machine, microwave, freezer, oven and grill. The Byre & The Kabin, Inchnadamph, Lairg, Sutherland (Sleeps 1-3)


The Byre is located in the fertile limestone grassland of Inchnadamph (Gaelic for meadow of the stags) on the North Coast 500. Inchnadamph is renowned for its beauty, geology, wildlife, fishing, historical sites, walking and caving but is equally suited to those looking for a family holiday or quick break. Enjoy the peace and quiet with views of Conival, Quinag and Canisp at the head of Loch Assynt where the deer regularly graze a few feet away. Fishing is available on Loch Assynt and other local lochs through Assynt Angling Club. 

There are different accommodation options available:
• The Byre – self-catering room, sleeps 3.
• Kirkton Kabin – indoor camping, sleeps 3.

The Byre is a self-contained, upper floor room is accessed by an external staircase. The spacious room sleeps three with a balcony area giving guests the chance to admire the setting sun over Loch Assynt while watching the wandering stags. There is one double & one single bed, and the room is equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, TV/DVD player.

Conveniently located for North Coast 500 travellers, The Kabin is a brick-built one-room building, formerly the old telephone exchange. It offers campers, cyclists and backpackers a break from sleeping under canvas with a comfortable bed and hot shower. Inside you'll find a double & a single bed, while a separate building a few metres away houses a toilet/shower room.

The house sleeps 8/9. All linen, electricity, oil, phone and a starter bucket of fuel for the wood burner are included.

The ground floor comprises a sitting room with wood burner, separate study play/room (comes with a sofa bed), large dining/kitchen, twin bedroom, family bathroom & a second shower room. 

Upstairs there is a double bedroom, two twin bedrooms & a further small toilet. 

The large garden gives children plenty of room to play, away from quieter areas. Flower beds, seating and the vegetable plot host's fruit and vegetables for picking, when in season.
