This charming traditional shepherd’s house is comfortably and tastefully furnished, providing accommodation for a maximum of four guests plus two additional guests using the sofa bed.

There are two attractive bedrooms, comprising one double and one twin, while the sitting room includes a sofa bed for additional sleeping space.

Bed linen and towels are provided, with an additional blanket available if required. Families with young children can also request a cot, highchair and changing mat.

Electric heaters are available in the bedrooms, while two stoves downstairs create a warm and welcoming atmosphere during the cooler months. The first supply of peat and logs is provided free of charge.

Outside, Glenbain has a lovely garden with a picnic bench where guests can sit back and appreciate the spectacular surrounding scenery.

Clachtoll Cottage, Lochinver, Assynt, Sutherland


Clachtoll Cottage is situated just yards from the sea in a spectacular location on the north shore of Clachtoll Bay. The site, known as Am Port Creadhach (Clay Port), has been an area of settlement for over 2,000 years, and a Pictish broch stands on the coast to the north of the cottage.

About Clachtoll Cottage

Sheltered by a low hill and facing south, the cottage was constructed in 2003 and is finished in white Skye marble with feature wooden shutters.

The accommodation comprises a lounge/dining area, one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, along with a pair of z-beds, a fully equipped kitchen and a toilet/shower room.

A paved patio to the front of the property provides an outdoor extension of the lounge and offers a superb vantage point from which to enjoy the stunning scenery. At various times throughout the year, whales, dolphins and porpoises can be spotted in the waters just offshore.

Visiting the Area

During the summer months, the owner is available to take interested guests on boat trips along the coast to Lochinver or on guided walks in the Assynt area. The coastline is spectacular and endlessly photogenic.

The cottage is located just 200 yards from the sandy beach at Clachtoll, where the clear turquoise waters of the bay provide safe swimming conditions.

Borrobol Cottages, Kinbrace, Sutherland


Borrobol Cottages offers self-catering accommodation near Kinbrace, set beside the River Helmsdale in the beautiful Strath of Kildonan. The two estate cottages in Sutherland provide the perfect base for a relaxing getaway, surrounded by stunning scenery. Bedrooms include one double and one twin, which share a family bathroom/shower. All beds come with pure cotton bedding.

Exploring Kinbrace & Sutherland

The cottages are ideally positioned for discovering all that the area has to offer. During the season, guests can enjoy fly fishing for wild brown trout on Loch Ascaig, while seasonal fishing is also available along the five-mile River Friadh.
