Tigh Na Cathair offers charming self-catering accommodation in the beautiful parish of Assynt. Based near Lairg in a stunning location, we are close to some of Scotland’s most gorgeous beaches and scenic hill walks. Further afield you can visit an array of attractions in Sutherland.

Our delightful cottage is nestled in an amazing setting, offering the chance to discover some of Europe’s true wilderness areas. Outside there is a lovely private garden, great for relaxing with a coffee whilst savouring the view.

The tastefully furnished cottage comes with a cosy living with comfy seating, a TV and an open fire. Rustle up some delicious food in the well-equipped kitchen which has a range of appliances: an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. Beds consist of 1 double, 1 single and 1 camp bed. All the duvets, blankets, pillows and electric blankets are provided. A bathroom comes with a walk-in shower.

We are in a fantastic location for exploring the glorious natural scenery in the area. You can enjoy a leisurely walk to the point or Dunain or wander along the loch for an evening stroll. Walk to the amazing Inverkirkaig Waterfalls and savour the view. A lovely bookshop and cafe are at the start of the walk. Lochinver has a spar and an excellent butcher, whilst Pete’s Restaurant at the harbour serves good food. Slightly further afield is the Kylesku Hotel which serves amazing mussels.
