Pitmeadow Farm, Dunning, Perth, Perthshire


Pitmeadow Farm is a small, family-run working farm set in peaceful countryside just outside the conservation village of Dunning. Full of character, the farm enjoys a quiet, elevated position on the southern side of Strathearn, offering lovely rural views and a relaxing setting. There are two self-catering properties available: The Steading, which comfortably sleeps up to six guests, and The Studio, which accommodates up to four, making them ideal for families, couples, or small groups seeking a countryside escape.

The Steading

The Steading provides spacious and comfortable accommodation, featuring a large open-plan kitchen with a dining table and seating area. There is also a separate, generously sized living room with three sofas, a TV, and an open fire, creating a cosy space to unwind. Upstairs, there are three large double bedrooms, each with its own ensuite shower and toilet, offering privacy and convenience for guests. Two of the bedrooms can be arranged as either twin or double beds to suit different group requirements, and one room also includes a pull-out single bed if additional sleeping space is needed. The Studio

The Studio has been recently renovated to create a comfortable and welcoming self-catering space, featuring a spacious and attractive kitchen and dining area. The layout is thoughtfully designed with the bedrooms located on the ground floor and the living room and kitchen upstairs, maximising both space and natural light. The accommodation includes two double bedrooms, both with ensuite facilities, with one room offering the flexibility to be arranged as twin beds if preferred. The property is fully equipped for a relaxing stay and includes games, books, and DVDs for guest use, along with the option of a travel cot available on request.

Onsite Facilities

Guests have access to a shared games room located in the courtyard, equipped with a table tennis table, table football, and a selection of games suitable for all ages. The games room also offers homemade jams, chutneys, and Pitmeadow meat available to purchase. There is ample parking on site, along with access to a spacious garden where guests can relax or enjoy outdoor activities, including a trampoline and football goals. The grounds also feature a large, deep pond, creating a peaceful setting for wildlife watching or leisurely walks. Children should be supervised at all times while in the garden.

Visiting the Area

Dunning is a charming village in the heart of rural Perthshire and serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. The village is home to St Serf’s Church, a historic site known for its ancient carved stone. Nearby Auchterarder offers a selection of shops, cafés, and the renowned Gleneagles Hotel with its golf courses and leisure facilities. A short drive leads to Perth, where visitors can explore museums, galleries, and scenic riverside walks. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the Ochil Hills provide excellent opportunities for walking and hiking, along with panoramic views. Historic landmarks such as Scone Palace also offer a glimpse into Scotland’s rich heritage.

The Slap, Ruemuera, Burray, Orkney


The Slap is a tastefully restored 19th century croft house offering self-catering holiday accommodation on a working croft at Ruemuera on the southern Orkney island of Burray. The holiday home is surrounded by acres of croft land and enjoys beautiful views across Scapa Flow, the Churchill Barriers and the island of Copinsay. It provides a welcoming setting for families, with children invited to see the animals and collect eggs in the morning.

About The Slap

The cottage has been carefully decorated and furnished throughout to provide guests with a comfortable home-from-home experience. Original Orkney flagstone floors with underfloor heating add character and warmth, while the cottage also includes a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a double bedroom.

The living area features a small double sofa bed, allowing the property to accommodate up to four guests in total.

Scapa Flow is recognised as one of the best diving sites in the world, and diving courses can be arranged for beginners wishing to experience it for the first time. After a day of exploring, visitors can enjoy a relaxing stroll along one of the many sandy beaches and admire the clear blue seas.

Mill House Farm Cottage, Bosley, Macclesfield, Cheshire


Mill House Farm Cottage is a Grade II listed holiday cottage situated on the fringes of the Peak District, offering comfortable self-catering accommodation with plenty of historic charm. Attached to the main farmhouse, it provides fully self-contained living space, making it an ideal base for a relaxing countryside break.

The Cottage

Mill House Farm Cottage sleeps up to five guests and includes everything needed for a comfortable stay. The fully equipped kitchen features a double oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, kettle and toaster. There is also a cloakroom with a WC and tumble dryer.

Guests can enjoy meals together in the spacious dining room, which has a large table and seating for six. The cosy sitting room is comfortably furnished with a triple sofa, a double sofa and a sofa chair, and includes a TV with Freesat and a DVD player.

Upstairs, the cottage has two bedrooms. The first offers twin beds that can be joined into a super king-size bed on request, while the second bedroom includes three single beds. A vintage cot and highchair can also be provided on request. The upstairs bathroom includes both a bath and a shower.

Outside, a large garden and rear patio area create a lovely setting for alfresco dining, with a table and chairs provided, along with a BBQ during the summer months. Ample parking is available in the farmyard for guests’ convenience.

Visiting the Area

Set within a 60-acre farm on the outskirts of Bosley, the cottage is well placed for exploring the surrounding area, with easy access to Congleton, Macclesfield, Leek and Buxton. Alton Towers is around a 35-minute drive away, while the M6, Manchester and Manchester Airport are also within convenient reach.

The local area offers plenty to enjoy, including walking, cycling, fishing and golf, while nature lovers and birdwatchers will appreciate the picturesque countryside setting and the variety of beautiful walks nearby.

Knockankelly Farm Holiday Cottages in Whiting Bay offers superb self catering accommodation. Situated on a working farm on the Isle of Arran, we are perfect for an idyllic holiday.

Summer House
Our beautifully furnished cottage sleeps up to 4 people and comes with a range of facilities to suit all your needs. We have masses of wildflowers on the farm, along with plenty of wildlife, including red squirrels, buzzards, bats and red deer. We truly are a rural haven.

Our cosy cottage comes with a well-equipped kitchen with a range of appliances: a cooker with a fan oven, fridge, microwave and washing machine. A relaxing lounge comes with a TV, DVD player and sumptuous sofas. The ideal place to unwind after a day sightseeing.

The double and twin bedrooms enjoy views over the Ayrshire coast and Holy Isle. Both bedrooms are reached by a gorgeous handmade spiral staircase.

Saorsa
This delightful Scottish farm cottage offers lots of quirky charm, wood paneling and cam ceilings upstairs, plus a toasty wood burner for those chilly days. The cottage offers fabulous views over to Holy Isle and the Ayrshire coast.

The cottage sleeps 5 people in 3 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin and 1 single. A shower room/wet room is downstairs. Outside there is a small patio for al fresco dining in the afternoon sun.

The island has some wonderful food and drink. We have a brewery at Cladach, right next door to Brodick Castle Gardens. Just around the corner is Arran Aromatics who sell their products worldwide. Hope End Holiday Barn is a luxurious and award winning place to stay. It is set in the grounds of Hope End Farm, which is a 70 acre smallholding in Worcestershire. Our farm is on the outskirts of Cradley, a picturesque village in the Malvern Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

About Hope End Barn
Our barn has been restored to an incredibly high standard and offers 4 Star Gold Award accommodation for up to 6 people. From the barn, you can enjoy beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. The barn boasts many wonderful features including all the original beams throughout.

Downstairs is an open plan living room with large windows. This provides a space where the whole family can relax and take in the stunning views. Here you will find:

40 inch wall mounted TV with SKY.

Large and fully equipped kitchen.

Kilmore Cottages are two self catering holiday homes, located on an organic working for outside of Ballask near Kilmore, Co Wexford. Our holiday cottages are set in a peaceful and rural location that provides a lovely base from which to explore this part of Ireland and those who are in need of some well deserved peace and tranquillity.

We are pleased to be able to offer all our guests a guided tour of the farm, which can be arranged during your stay. The farm is engaged in animal husbandry. You can see the cows as they graze and rear their calves and everyone loves the donkeys which guests are welcome to feed! There are two hens in an enclosed run in the garden to provide you with farm fresh eggs every day. The herds of cows often graze in the paddocks behind the cottages, depending on where the best grasslands are. You can also visit and buy produce from neighbouring farms.

Our two holiday cottages have a homely feel and have been well equipped with everything you may need during your break away. Please note that both our properties are situated adjacent to each other and can be booked singly or in combinations suitable to accommodate your group. Our properties include:

Gilfach Farm Self Catering, Gilfach, Sennybridge, Powys (Sleeps 1-6)


Gilfach Farm Self Catering in Gilfach offers beautiful self catering accommodation, based on our 60-acre farm. We are nestled away in a steep-sided valley near Sennybridge and only a 5 minute drive from the A40, making us the perfect base for exploring Powys.

Accommodation
We have a range of accommodation to choose from to suit all needs. Parts of the original 400-year-old stone barn have been converted into holiday accommodation. We also offer glamping accommodation. In total, there are 5 self catering units that are completely distinct from each other. Onsite we have also a BBQ hut, available by reservation and free to use.

Cosy Barn Cottage
This lovely barn conversion boasts wooden beams throughout and sleeps 4 people or 6 including a sofa bed. Inside there is a well-equipped kitchen with a range of appliances: an under-counter fridge (+ freezer compartment), a full size electric oven with built-in hob and a microwave oven. Unwind in the lounge that has a toasty wood burning stove, a flat screen TV with Freeview and a DVD player. Upstairs there is a double room and a twin room. Downstairs there is a power-shower. Outside there is an enclosed patio with a circular picnic table, great for al fresco dining when the sun is shining.

Relaxing Barn Loft
Our charming barn conversion offers original wooden beams and sleeps 2 people, great for a romantic getaway. The open lounge/kitchen will suit all your needs. The lounge has a screen Smart TV, Bluetooth soundbar and a DVD Player. Enjoy some home-cooking in the fully-equipped kitchen that includes a full size electric oven with inbuilt hob. A fridge, freezer and microwave are built into the space in the hallway. The bedroom comes with a king-size bed and the adjoining washroom has a power shower.

Tucked Away Log Cabin
Our lovely ground level log cabin sleeps 4 people and has private decking with an all-weather table and chairs, great for a glass of wine whilst savouring the views. The open plan kitchen/lounge area is well-equipped. The kitchen includes an under-counter fridge, an electric oven with ceramic hob and a microwave oven. Relax in the cosy lounge, with facilities including a flat screen TV with Freeview and a DVD Player. Bedrooms consist of a bunk room and a double room. Both rooms share a shower room.

Snug Oak Hut
This delightful shepherds hut is luxuriously furnished, perfect for a magical country escape, sleeping up to 2 people. Inside this light and airy hut is a kitchen space with a microwave oven, kettle, toaster, single ring induction hob, small fridge and even a traditional Belfast sink. A double bed is perfect for a restful night’s sleep and there is a flat screen above. A compact shower room has a walk-in electric shower. Underfloor electric heating and a small traditional wood burning stove will keep you toasty in the winter months. Outside there is a private patio with an all-weather table and chairs and BBQ for al fresco dining.

Luxury Bell Tent
Our fabulous bell tent sleeps 2 people and is tucked away in a secluded corner away from the farm building. This beautifully furnished tent includes a double bed, blanket box, two chairs and a coffee table. The double bed has a memory foam mattress with squishy topper, pure British wool baavet and 100% cotton linen. A single folding bed is available on request and there is also a canvas dining canopy including a 2 ring table top gas stove, fridge, table and chairs. Guests have exclusive use of a wet room which includes a shower and toilet.

Visiting Gilfach & Exploring Powys
This part of the country has an abundance of amazing walking and cycling routes to enjoy, offering the perfect way to admire the gorgeous natural scenery. You can enjoy a lovely day out at Dinky Donkey Walking near Sennybridge or relax on the dog friendly beach at Oxwich Bay. Great attractions to visit include:
