Ynysfaen Camping & Glamping, Trecastle, Brecon, Powys


This small, family-run campsite is located just two miles from Trecastle and around 20 minutes west of Brecon, set within the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park, now recognised as one of the world’s Dark Sky Reserves. The charming old farmhouse sits within five acres of peaceful countryside, creating a picturesque and tranquil setting.

Shepherd’s Hut
The bespoke, dog-free shepherd’s hut, beautifully handcrafted in Wales, offers a cosy and private retreat for two adults, ideal for short breaks or longer stays. It features a separate, fully equipped enclosed kitchen with a gas hob, fridge, cooking essentials, seating area and a wood burner for added comfort. Guests can dine indoors or outside and enjoy a private enclosed garden with outdoor seating. Bedding, towels, electricity and initial supplies of wood and charcoal are all included for a relaxing stay.

Ynysfaen Cabin
The handmade one-bedroom cabin provides a cosy and well-equipped space, featuring a kitchenette with a hob, microwave and essential utensils, along with tea and coffee provided. The bedroom includes a comfortable double bed, while the living area has a sofa bed, allowing accommodation for up to four guests, making it ideal for families or friends. An electric radiator and log burner ensure comfort during cooler months. Outside, a private decking area with a fire pit and BBQ offers a perfect place to unwind. The cabin also includes a storage shed and a daily electricity allowance, with additional usage available if required. Pets are welcome by arrangement, with space for up to two medium-sized dogs.

Empty Bell Tent
The 5-metre empty bell tent offers a simple, back-to-basics camping experience for up to four guests. It does not include electricity or cooking facilities, but guests have access to on-site showers, toilets, a fridge and washing facilities, as well as picnic benches for outdoor dining. Please note that pets are not permitted in the bell tent, and there is no power, Wi-Fi or mobile phone reception on site.

The site also offers four campervan pitches and additional camping pitches for tents.

Visiting the Area
Cwmwysg, near Trecastle, is perfectly positioned for exploring the dramatic landscapes of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Visitors can enjoy scenic walks to Llyn y Fan Fach and Llyn y Fan Fawr beneath the Black Mountain peaks or take on Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in South Wales. The nearby market town of Brecon offers independent shops, cafés and access to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, ideal for gentle walks and cycling. With waterfalls, open moorland and exceptional dark skies for stargazing, the area offers a perfect blend of adventure and tranquillity.

Puddock Farm Pine Lodges, Brookland, Romney Marsh, Kent


Puddock Farm Pine Lodges are located in a peaceful and unspoilt area of Romney Marsh, providing an ideal setting to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside. Guests can unwind in cosy pine log cabins or sit out on a private south-facing decked verandah, taking in panoramic views across the fields towards Stone Cliff. With birdsong throughout the day, beautiful sunsets in the evening and clear night skies filled with stars, it is the perfect place to slow down and appreciate nature.

Accommodation

New Puddledock
This brand new lodge sleeps up to six guests and features three bedrooms, including a main en suite bedroom and two twin rooms. The fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas hob, electric oven and microwave. A spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area provides a comfortable space for relaxing together.

Tore Petty
Sleeping two guests, this luxury lodge for couples is ideal for honeymoons or a relaxing break away from everyday life. Guests can enjoy watching the sunset from the decked verandah while sipping a drink. The lodge features a king size four-poster bed, an en suite bathroom with a corner spa bath, Mira shower and sauna. The living area offers panoramic views and includes two rattan chairs with footstools, a TV and DVD player. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with a stainless steel fan oven, halogen hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.

Rainbow Petty
This lodge sleeps up to six guests and includes two bathrooms, with the master bedroom featuring an en suite shower room. The property is ideal for walkers in any season as it offers an entrance lobby with a cupboard for outdoor clothing. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine. The light and beautifully furnished living area includes a TV and DVD player, while outside there is a generous decked veranda with a table and chairs.

Visiting Brookland & Exploring Kent

There are many attractions to enjoy in the surrounding area. Guests can visit the Designer Outlet Centre at Ashford, the sandy beaches at Camber Sands, or enjoy a journey on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Miniature Railway. The Kent and East Sussex Railway at Tenterden is also nearby.

Nature lovers can explore the RSPB reserves at Rye Harbour and Dungeness, while several National Trust properties are within easy reach, including Sissinghurst, Bodiam Castle and Lamb House in Rye.

Westland Farm, Kentisbury, Barnstaple, Devon



Westland is a small working farm located five miles from the North Devon coast, on the edge of Exmoor National Park. Set within beautiful countryside, it offers a unique opportunity to escape the stresses of everyday life and relax in stunning, unspoilt surroundings.

Mongolian Yurt

Accessed via a handmade oak bridge, the Mongolian Yurt is set privately at the bottom of the farm within a three-acre field, offering lovely views across the North Devon countryside. Children can enjoy running freely in the field and playing by the stream.

The yurt provides a peaceful retreat for couples and families, ideal for unwinding and enjoying the tranquillity of rural life. Guests can relax in the private hot tub and watch for shooting stars, with the farm located on the edge of the Exmoor Dark Sky Reserve. On clear nights, the star-filled skies are truly spectacular.

Lit by candles and lamps and heated by a wood-burning stove, the yurt includes a double bed, a single bed and a 4ft futon, all with bedding provided. Guests are asked to bring their own towels, and a torch and wellies are recommended. Although the yurt is let for four guests, it can comfortably sleep more, with additional guests charged at a small fee per person per night.

Guests enjoy exclusive use of a private wood-fired hot tub and sauna. The hot tub can be enjoyed in all weather, while the sauna offers a relaxing space to unwind, with tinted glass providing privacy while still allowing views of livestock grazing in the surrounding fields.

A fire pit is available for barbecues or evening gatherings, perfect for sharing stories and toasting marshmallows. The yurt also has a private bathroom with a flushing toilet and hot shower, along with a kitchen bothy equipped with pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, a gas hob and a Belfast sink for washing up.

The yurt and surrounding field can also be hired for parties, reunions or family gatherings, offering a flexible and affordable venue for special occasions.

Shepherd’s Hut

The handmade shepherd’s hut offers an unforgettable countryside escape, with breath-taking views from the stable door towards Wistlandpound Reservoir.

Outside, guests have access to a fenced private garden with a fire pit, picnic bench and hot tub. Inside, the hut features a comfortable king-size bed and a child’s bunk above memory foam mattresses. The kitchen area is well equipped with a Belfast sink with hot and cold running water, a double gas hob, china crockery and cooking utensils.

A wood-burning stove keeps the hut warm and cosy, while guests can also relax outdoors, watch livestock grazing nearby or unwind in the hot tub with a glass of wine.

Drovers Hut

The Drovers Hut is a beautifully renovated ex-army ammunition trailer offering luxurious and characterful accommodation. It sleeps up to five guests, with a king-size bed, single bunks and a trestle bed that pulls out from beneath the main bed, all fitted with memory foam mattresses.

The well-appointed country kitchen includes a Belfast sink, solid oak worktops, dresser top, two-burner gas hob, table and benches, and a wood-burning range stove with oven and hobs. The hut is set in a peaceful corner of the field, with a secure decking area featuring two gates, making it suitable for dogs or children. Guests also benefit from private outdoor seating and a wood-fired hot tub.

A private bathroom with toilet and shower is located adjacent to the hut. Access via a stile leads to a wild garden with a stream running through it, perfect for quiet moments in nature, exploration or imaginative play.

Visiting Kentisbury & Exploring Devon

Westland is located in a popular geocaching area and is well placed for exploring a wide range of local attractions. Nearby Wistlandpound Reservoir has been thoughtfully developed as a countryside site with wheelchair- and pushchair-friendly trails, activity equipment and sensory features, allowing visitors of all abilities to enjoy the landscape.

The Cabin in North Berwick offers unique self catering accommodation, nestled in a glorious setting. Our cosy cabin near Auldhame in East Lothian boasts spectacular views of the Bass Rock and the Firth of Forth to Fife, perfect for an idyllic getaway.

Accommodation
Our wonderful cabin is perfect for couples or friends looking for somewhere special to stay, ideal for a creative or fun weekend. The cabin sleeps up to 2 people and is tastefully furnished to offer comfortable accommodation to suit all your needs.

Inside the cabin, there is a fully equipped galley kitchen with an electric induction hob & cooker, washing machine and microwave. You can unwind in the living room which has a flat-screen TV with Freeview and a DVD player. A lovely spot to relax after a day of sightseeing.

The bedroom comes with a comfy twin bed for a restful night’s sleep. The bed can be made into a double on request. A modern bathroom has a shower.

Outside there is a garden to the front and rear, plus a patio area with garden furniture for alfresco dining whilst admiring the majestic views.

Visiting North Berwick & Exploring East Lothian
North Berwick is a picturesque seaside town offering scenic beaches and amazing coastal scenery, plus the renowned Scottish Seabird Centre. Treehouse
This unique Treehouse is nestled in woodland and perfect for a truly unique escape in the country. The Treehouse seamlessly blends the outdoors with the indoors, a haven for nature lovers looking for somewhere special to stay.

Fabulous features include underfloor heating, a Chesterfield sofa, William Morris rug and Bose speaker, plus wooden furniture recycled from farm material for rustic touches. Enjoy a restful night’s sleep on the handcrafted wooden bed, which is encased in 540-thread count Egyptian cotton and adorned with blankets and cushions. A Velux window brings in plenty of natural light, whilst the modern bathroom includes The White Company toiletries and luxury towels and bathrobes.

A lovely decking area offers a great spot for relaxing with a drink or two whilst savouring the views. You can soak away your troubles in the luxurious wood-fired hot tub.

Crofter’s Cabin:
Our charming cabin offers a homage to our farming roots, offering a cosy yet luxurious feel. The cabin is enclosed via a hazel picket fence, ensuring your four-legged friend can stretch their legs. A fantastic wood-fired hot tub is great for enjoying a glass of bubbly in, whilst the veranda offers a great spot to relax with a morning coffee. You can even toast marshmallows around the private fire pit under the starry night sky.

Inside there is an abundance of artistic design and farming heritage, including a sumptuous leather chair as the focal point for the living area. The beautifully crafted kitchen is perfect for rustling up some delicious dishes in. The chunky wooden bed is ideal for resting your head on at night, whilst the bathroom has The White Company toiletries and a Christy bathrobe.

Saddler’s Cabin:
This gorgeous retreat offers an unforgettable retreat in the country, the ideal place to escape from the pressures of modern life. The cabin is set in an open grassy area overlooked by evergreens. On the shaded veranda are two reclining rocking chairs to unwind on whilst savouring the setting. You can also relax in the magnificent wood-fired hot tub.

The stable door leads to a wonderful leather sofa facing a toasty wood-burning stove. Cook up a storm in the beautifully crafted kitchen. Delightful equine references are scattered throughout the house, including a handcrafted horseshoe hook to hang your keys upon. The bedroom comes with a chunky four-poster bed, with greenery and vintage lightbulbs offering a unique feel.

We are in the ideal location for exploring the area. You can discover the amazing coastline of Northumberland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which has over forty miles of stunning beaches. Abberley Glamping offers luxurious accommodation in Abberley, nestled within a gorgeous old orchard. Our beautifully rebuilt shepherd's hut and charming cabin in Worcestershire are surrounded by spectacular countryside and offer the ultimate rural retreat.

The Hut:
Our wonderful shepherd's hut is brimming with character and offers an authentic experience. Only 40m away is a lavish vintage bathroom, including a gorgeous roll-top bath for soaking your troubles away in.

Inside both huts there is hot water, an electric hob, a radiator and a vintage cabin wood-burning stove for those chilly days. You can also cook on an open fire, with a cast iron Dutch oven, tripod and grills provided.

The Cabin:
This spacious cabin offers pure luxury and is perfect for a magical break in the country. The accommodation can also accommodate a child in a pull-down bed if required. A lovely open kitchen and living space can be divided through the use of drop-down canvas blinds for added privacy.

A beautiful bedroom and bathroom are centrally heated and a toasty wood-burning stove is in the kitchen. Rustle up some delicious dishes in the fully-equipped kitchen that has an electric hob, oven and fridge freezer. You can even cook outside over the open fire using the cast iron Dutch oven, tripod and grill whilst savouring the setting. There are also two sumptuous tin baths that enjoy stunning views over the brook.

The hut and cabin are both a short stroll from the car park.

We are in a fabulous position for discovering all that the area has to offer. You can enjoy scenic walks in the neighbouring fields and grab a bite to eat at The Manor Arms. Take a nostalgic driven ride on the Severn Valley Railway whilst savouring the amazing landscape. You can also visit the medieval market town of Ludlow and visit its majestic castle, nestled above the River Teme.
