Lyme Cottage is a beautifully restored holiday property on the stunning Northumbrian coastline, offering unrivalled sea views and providing visitors with the perfect base to either explore the local area or simply unwind. Situated between the picturesque coastal village of Alnmouth and the historic town of Warkworth, it is also within easy reach of Alnwick and Bamburgh, making it an ideal gateway to Northumberland.

Accommodation

The cottage features two hemmel arched windows that flood the immaculately furnished lounge with natural light. A gas coal-effect fire creates a cosy atmosphere for winter evenings, and the lounge also includes a large Smart TV and free WiFi throughout. The spacious dining kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave, all enhanced by a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams.

There are two luxury bedrooms. The ground-floor bedroom offers an ensuite bathroom, panoramic sea views and a comfortable king-size bed. The first-floor bedroom provides twin beds and a built-in wardrobe, with an adjacent bathroom that includes a bath, wash basin and toilet.

At the rear of the cottage, the fully enclosed lawned garden enjoys views across the sea towards Alnmouth in the distance and is perfect for alfresco dining. Lyme Cottage sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Alnmouth and Warkworth, with private access to the beautiful Killiecrankie Beach just a short walk down the field behind the property.

Visiting the Area

The private path to the beach also connects to St Oswald’s Coastal Path, offering easy access to the breathtaking Northumberland coastline. Nearby Warkworth, a mile to the south, features a beach, pubs, village shops, a historic church and its impressive 15th-century castle. Alnmouth, three miles to the north, boasts a popular sandy beach and a good selection of places to eat and drink.

The fishing port of Amble, just three miles away, offers a boardwalk, beach, cafés, restaurants and family attractions. The market town of Alnwick, five miles west, provides supermarkets, leisure facilities and the renowned Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Visitors can also explore Howick Hall, take boat trips to Coquet Island and easily reach Bamburgh, Holy Island and the Farnes.

Golf courses are plentiful throughout the region, and popular attractions such as Hadrian’s Wall, Kielder Forest, Cragside, Beamish Museum, the Angel of the North and Newcastle upon Tyne are all within comfortable travelling distance.

Bea's Cottage, Cresswell, Morpeth, Northumberland


Bea’s Cottage is nestled in the heart of Cresswell village in a prime position, just a stone’s throw from the sea. Originally a fisherman’s cottage, it has been beautifully restored by the owners and now oozes character and charm, with many original features thoughtfully brought back to life. With stunning sea views and immediate access to the golden beach, the cottage is a delight in all seasons, made even cosier by the welcoming wood burner.

Accommodation

The large and spacious living room offers lovely views from the front window across the field to Pele Tower, a medieval tower. This room features a Freeview Smart TV and a wood burner, with a dining area that flows directly into the kitchen. The kitchen includes a large table perfect for enjoying home-cooked breakfasts or lunches, along with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and French doors leading out onto the patio.

Upstairs, the property offers three bedrooms: a kingsize room, a twin room and a single room. The family bathroom includes a freestanding deep bath as well as a separate shower. Outside, the French doors from the kitchen open into a small patio area. The cottage benefits from oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi, with initial fuel for the wood burner provided. There is private parking for one car, and the property is strictly no smoking. Guests should note that the bottom of the garden has a very low wall with drops to the sea, so care is advised.

Accommodation
Originally the Coastguard Station in Amble, our property has been beautifully renovated to offer modern accommodation, nestled in a glorious location. The house sleeps up to 6 people and is tastefully furnished throughout.

Inside we have a Scandinavian-style kitchen that has tiled underfloor heating and bi-fold doors that lead to a relaxing glass-framed terrace. Appliances include a dishwasher and a duel fuel range cooker with 6 gas burners, a hotplate and 2 electric ovens with a grill and an American fridge freezer.

Unwind in the large Scandi sitting room that comes with comfy seating and smart TV, plus amazing sea views. You can also have fun in the games room.

On the first floor, we have 4 en suite bedrooms, all of which enjoy glorious sea views. The master en suite bedroom comes with a super king-size bed and a private terrace with a table and chairs, great for a coffee in the morning sun. 2 double rooms are available, including one with a private terrace with seating and a king room.

Outside there are 3 terraces to relax on and a shaded picnic patio area which enjoys outstanding views of the pier.

Right on our doorstep, you can wander around the breakwater and pier to the picturesque harbour. Savour some delicious seafood on the harbour or take a dip on the scenic shore beach. The Old Corn Crush & Set Square Cottage offers delightful self catering accommodation in the quaint village of North Togston. Our cottages in Northumberland are only a short drive from the sea, Amble Harbour and Morpeth, making us the ideal location for exploring the area.

The Old Corn Crush
We offer cosy accommodation in this beautiful barn conversion. The ground-level barn sleeps 6 people and is perfect for a group looking for somewhere relaxing to stay.

Inside our barn, there is a relaxing living area with a high vaulted ceiling with gorgeous exposed beams. Facilities include a smart TV, comfy seating and a toasty wood-burning stove. Rustle up a storm in the fully equipped kitchen that comes with a dual fuel farmhouse range cooker with 6 gas burners and a hot plate, two electric ovens and a grill plus a proving drawer. Savour some delicious meals around the farmhouse table that seats 6. A utility room houses a drinks fridge, dishwasher and a microwave oven.

Three attractive bedrooms are available: 1 king en suite, 1 room with a king-size sleigh bed and 1 twin room. A bathroom has a shower over bath.

Outside there is a courtyard with a farm-style seating table and benches and a smaller separate patio, a great spot for a coffee in the morning sun. An enclosed gravelled garden comes with farm-style seating and a BBQ, great for al fresco dining whilst savouring the stunning countryside views.

Set Square Cottage
Originally the farm’s wood workshop, the cottage now offers modern accommodation. The cottage sleeps up to 5 people and is well-equipped throughout.

Enjoy some home cooking in our dual-aspect kitchen diner that includes a fridge freezer, ceramic hob and oven, washing machine, microwave and dishwasher. A dining table seats 6. After a busy day sightseeing, unwind in the living room that has an open fire, comfy seating and smart TV.

Three bedrooms are available: 1 king room, 1 double en suite and 1 small single room. The contemporary bathroom has a shower over bath.

Outside there is a farm-style seated table and bench, ideal for a glass of wine in the evening sun.
