Edinbane Self Catering, Upper Edinbane, Isle of Skye

Set amidst the beauty and rugged splendour of Scotland’s Isle of Skye, Edinbane Self Catering offers charming holiday accommodation close to both sea and mountains in a selection of traditional stone cottages and a unique hand-built cabin lodge.

Tigh Dubh

Tigh Dubh features a warm and welcoming wooden-panelled open-plan living and dining area, creating the perfect space for relaxing after a day exploring the island. Guests can unwind beside the pot-bellied stove, enjoy the collection of books and board games, listen to music via the Bluetooth speaker or watch Freeview TV and DVDs. Wi-Fi access is also available throughout the property.

The ground-floor bedroom includes a handcrafted double box bed made by a local craftsman using locally sourced sycamore and larch. A cosy sleeping platform with two single beds is accessed via a purpose-built log ladder, popular with both adults and children, although not recommended for toddlers.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric hob, combination microwave, fridge, dishwasher, Belfast sink and all necessary crockery and utensils. The bathroom is a wet room with shower, WC and wash basin. The property is graded class 3 for disabled access and benefits from night storage heating. Electricity and bed linen are included.

Merman

Merman Cottage has been carefully renovated with close attention paid to its history and architectural detail. The wood-panelled open-plan living area provides a cosy and comfortable space to relax, complete with a wood-burning stove, Bluetooth speaker and Freeview TV. Guests can also enjoy books and board games for quieter evenings indoors.

The kitchen includes handmade local pottery tiles and is equipped with an electric hob, combination microwave, fridge, dishwasher and all necessary crockery and utensils.

A wooden spiral staircase leads to the main bedroom, which features a double bed with beautiful views across the loch. The second bedroom has two single beds overlooking the garden, croft walk and surrounding hills.

There are two bathrooms, including a small upstairs bathroom and a downstairs wet room with shower and sink. Night storage heating is provided throughout, with electricity and bed linen included.

Ewan Bàn

Ewan Bàn is a hand-built cabin lodge designed in a romantic gypsy caravan style and sleeps two guests. Nestled amongst the trees, it offers a peaceful and secluded retreat ideal for couples.

The lodge includes a separate shower and composting toilet, along with a double box bed, living area, dining space and compact kitchen. Outside, guests can relax on the covered veranda and enjoy the tranquil woodland setting.

On the Croft

The croft provides guests with a peaceful place to relax, unwind and reconnect with nature. Croft walks offer ideal short strolls before breakfast or after dinner, while the fire pit and barbecue area provide the perfect setting for outdoor relaxation.

Younger guests can enjoy the trampoline and woodland den-building areas, while visitors seeking tranquillity can visit Helen’s Armadilla for a revitalising shiatsu massage. The loch front at the foot of the croft is ideal for birdwatching, collecting winkles or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Bicycles are available for guests wishing to explore further afield and there are many excellent local walks nearby. Guests may also encounter the resident ponies, who are always happy to receive a carrot or a gentle scratch behind the ears.

Location

The Isle of Skye offers something for visitors of all ages and abilities, with endless opportunities for outdoor adventure and exploration.
