The Farmhouse, Ganllwyd, Dolgellau, Gwynedd (Sleeps 1-15)

The Farmhouse is a 200-year-old property that today is a self catering cottage. It is situated in Ganllwyd, Gwynedd. Ganllwyd is a small village within the Snowdonia National Park. Dolgellau market town is a short drive away. This is an ideal base for those looking either to relax or for adventure.

The farmhouse is full of original features. A starter pack of logs is provided and a further supply of wood can be obtained at a small fee.

It has a well-equipped kitchen/diner with ample space for six people. There is a cooker, kettle, toaster, microwave, dining table and radio.

Downstairs is a shower/toilet and upstairs a large bathroom with garden views.

Outside is an enclosed patio area with seating and BBQ. Ample parking is available. Storage and washing facilities outside.

From the doorstep in Ganllwyd are miles of walks and biking trails. The Mawddach estuary and waterfalls are within close walking distance. The sandy beaches of Barmouth and Fairbourne are 15 miles away.

Braeside, High Humbleton, Wooler, Northumberland (Sleeps 1-4)

Braeside offers self-catering accommodation for up to four people situated in the quiet hamlet of High Humbleton, near Wooler in Northumberland. The cottage lies in glorious countryside and is within easy reach of the fabulous beaches of The Heritage Coastline.

The entrance is at the rear into a modern dining kitchen with clear views across the valley. The fully equipped kitchen includes a washing machine, fridge/freezer, oven and microwave. The large sitting/dining room is comfortably furnished and has a recently renovated large inglenook with exposed stonework and wood burning stove. There are plenty of books, games and jigsaws, Freeview TV, DVD and WiFi. The modern shower room / toilet has a walk in shower cubicle, heated towel rail, Dimplex wall heater and shaver point. A staircase leads to two bedrooms in the roof space both with velux windows and lovely country views. Upstairs there is a spacious double bedroom with king size bed, double, single wardrobes and chests of drawers. The second bedroom twin beds and chest of drawers.

Outside there is a sheltered garden with garden furniture.

There is so much to see and do in the area, with something for all ages. Walk from the front door, there being many lovely local walks. Further away Cheviot and Hedgehope and the remote College Valley are all within a good day’s walk. St Cuthberts Way runs 1 mile west of the cottage. Make for the coast, walk along the miles of sandy beaches and explore Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and its castle, Seahouses and the Farne Islands, Craster and beyond. Explore inland and visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Rothbury, Cragside House,and the Simonside Hills and to the north the Border towns of Berwick upon Tweed, Coldstream, Kelso and Melrose. A little further afield, and in day reach, are Hadrian’s Wall, the Tyne valley, Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham and Edinburgh. Stargaze on clear nights as there is no light pollution.

Kingfishers, Charmouth, Bridport, Dorset (Sleeps 1-4)

Kingfishers is a one-bedroom ground floor apartment attached to a family home, located alongside the River Char in the seaside village of Charmouth in Dorset. We are in a secluded spot and just a 15 minute walk from the beach.

The apartment has its own private entrance and a private outside terrace. There is a main living area with 3 seater sofa bed, log burning stove (basket of logs provided on arrival) and Smart TV. The open plan kitchen has a dining table, fridge freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher and washer dryer. The beautiful double bedroom overlooks the garden and the bathroom has a walk-in shower.

Kingfishers is situated by the Jurassic Coast and so fossil hunting is a must, there are guided walks available for fossil hunting. There are plenty of walking and cycling opportunities locally and your dog will also love the area.

45 Academy Street is a comfortable, family-friendly holiday cottage located in the Scottish town of Castle Douglas in Dumfries & Galloway. Our holiday cottage is in a great location for exploring this delightful part of Scotland. We find that we are an ideal holiday home for walkers, golfers, cyclists and fishermen, as well as couples and families who come to relax in 'Bonnie Galloway'.

This 19th-century holiday home has been decorated and furnished with you in mind to ensure you are comfortable and relaxed during your stay. The sitting room has cosy lighting, comfortable seats and a chest full of books, games and local information for you to read or play during your stay.

All of the bedrooms are upstairs and are made up ready for your arrival. The 1st bedroom has 2 adult size bunk beds, the 2nd is a family room with a double bed and a single bed and the 3rd room has a double bed. The house is all electric and easily heated. Fuel costs are included in the rent, as are duvet covers, sheets/pillowcases, dish and hand towels.

Castle Douglas has attractions and places of interest that will suit people of all ages and interests. For the active you could have a go at water sports, cycling or hiking. For those of you who fancy something more leisurely why not visit Kirkcudbright's art galleries or have a stroll around Threave Gardens. If you have children they're likely to enjoy some of the many beaches, or a visit to a historic castle, the closest, Threave, is reached by boat!

Stable West, Hettington, Canterbury, Kent (Sleeps 1-5)

Stunning country cottage in a quiet rural location 2 miles south of Canterbury. Dog and child friendly with shared use of tennis court and swimming pool. Suitable for guests with limited mobility as the large ensuite master bedroom is on the ground floor.

Set in beautiful unspoilt countryside on the edge of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, yet close to the historic city of Canterbury, Stable West combines the best of all worlds. This comfortable and spacious home is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need for a great get away, whether you want to settle down by the wood burning stove with a novel or a board game, walk out from the house across the adjoining wild flower meadow to follow one of the many local footpaths and perhaps stroll to a nearby pub, or simply sit and enjoy listening to the birds outside in the lovely garden.

As well as Canterbury with its ancient cathedral and large range of shops, cafés and restaurants, there are many other places of interest within easy reach, such as Howletts Zoo Park (10 minutes by car), Dover Castle (25 minutes) and Sissinghurst Gardens (40 mins). There is also a wide variety of beaches and seaside resorts between 20 and 40 minutes away. Canterbury is less than an hour from London by train, and we are 20 minutes from the Channel Tunnel. There are walks straight from the house, and the Granville pub is a 10 minute walk away, serving delicious food and also great for a pint of the local beer.

The Courtyard is a self-contained, stunning barn conversion situated in the owner's grounds in Winterborne Zelston, Dorset. It is tucked away in a secluded spot, perfect for relaxing in the countryside and getting away from it all.
