Y Gorlan, Rowen, Conwy


Y Gorlan is a magnificent five-bedroom detached house located in the picturesque village of Rowen near Conwy in North Wales. Once serving as the village’s 19th-century vicarage, the property has been thoughtfully renovated to combine modern comfort with its original character and charm. Set within a peaceful and scenic setting in Snowdonia National Park, it is ideally situated close to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Conwy, making it an excellent retreat for families or groups of up to ten guests.

Accommodation

Inside, guests are welcomed into a tastefully decorated front sitting room, where reclining sofas provide the perfect place to relax in front of a Sky TV offering movies, box sets and sports channels. A woodburning stove adds warmth and atmosphere during the colder months. There is also a garden sitting room with plush seating, offering stunning views of the Carneddau mountain range behind the village of Rowen.

The kitchen is a standout feature, designed by the French brand Mobalpa and fully equipped for preparing meals. Guests can dine together at the large solid oak dining table, which comfortably seats ten. Appliances include a range cooker with double oven, separate grill and five-burner gas hob with wok burner, as well as a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer, microwave, slow cooker and Nespresso pod coffee machine. A welcome pack with drinks and locally produced snacks is provided on arrival.

The ground floor includes a bedroom with a queen-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower, making it particularly suitable for guests with accessibility needs. A separate cloakroom is also located on this level.

Upstairs, the master bedroom features a king-size four-poster bed, a feature fireplace and an ensuite with a rainfall power shower. A second king-size bedroom also benefits from a feature fireplace and ensuite with a rainfall shower. At the rear of the house are two additional double bedrooms, each with ensuite bathrooms fitted with electric showers.

Outside, the enclosed gardens provide a relaxing space to enjoy the surroundings. Guests can make use of the barbecue for al fresco dining and enjoy lawn games, making it a great area for both adults and children.

Rowen is perfectly placed for exploring some of the most scenic and historic locations in North Wales. The nearby walled town of Conwy offers a wealth of attractions, including the impressive Conwy Castle and its picturesque harbour. Snowdonia National Park provides countless walking and hiking routes, showcasing dramatic mountains, lakes and forests, including the nearby Carneddau range.
