Visit Ockle Holiday Cottages and experience the breathtaking beauty of Ardnamurchan, abundant with wildlife, flowers, hidden little bays, magnificent views of the Inner Hebrides, unforgettable sunsets over the sea and, above all, peace and tranquillity. This location in Scotland is ideal for walking, birdwatching, fishing, swimming, sailing or just simply taking it easy and relaxing.

All our fully equipped houses are sited in their own fenced gardens within a working farm. There are three STB Graded Cottages: Burnside, Sruthan Ruadh and Tigh Dochie.

Burnside:

Sleeps 4 people. 3 Star Visit Scotland. A recently modernised croft house, on the hillside above a beautiful wooded burn. A kitchen/dining room, bathroom and lounge are neatly grouped on the ground floor, with one twin bedded room and one double bedroom upstairs. Burnside looks out upon a wooded burn and the hills, while the garden has lovely views to the sea.

Sruthan Ruadh:

Sleeps 6 people. 3 Star Visit Scotland. A recently modernised croft house with an attractive split level design. On the ground floor, you will find one twin bedded room, bathroom and kitchen/dining room. This leads to the mezzanine level, where a large lounge with patio offers magnificent views of the West and the Inner Hebrides. Upstairs there is a further twin bedded room and a double bedroom with en suite facilities. Sruthan Ruadh has a large garden area ideal for children and dogs to play in, with wonderful views.

Tigh Dochie:

Sleeps 4 people. 2 Star Visit Scotland. This small, secluded bungalow has superb views to the West and the Inner Hebrides and a truly peaceful situation. There is a utility room, kitchen, lounge/dining room, bathroom, one double and one twin bedroom. A small sun porch leads out to a patio and pretty garden. Tigh Dochie has an attractive sheltered garden planted with a range of trees and shrubs.

Visiting Kilchoan & Exploring Argyll:

Ockle is a drive of about 55 miles from Fort William, by way of the Corran ferry near Ballachulish. Take the A861 through Strontian and Salen, following the signs to Kilchoan (where there is a ferry departure for Mull). Before you reach Kilchoan, you will climb inland where the view opens northward to Eigg, Rhum and Skye; as the road bends left take a right exit and continue on to Ockle.

Raera Farm, Kilninver, Oban, Argyll (Sleeps 2-5)

Raera Farm offers a choice of 2 self-catering properties in an outstanding setting 9 miles south of Oban. The estate is bordered by the River Euchar and offers peace and tranquillity in the beautiful Scottish countryside. The properties, which have wonderful views, consisting of a 2 bedroom cottage and a 1 bedroom flat which is above the cottage.

The Cottage:

Sleeps 5 people in 2 bedrooms. It has a fitted kitchen with a dining table, dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave and washing machine. There is electric heating throughout as well as a wood-burning stove in the sitting room. The bathroom has a bath with an electric shower above it.

The Studio Flat:

Sleeps 2/3 people in 1 bedroom. It is accessed via an outside staircase. It has an open-plan, kitchen/dining/living area. The bedroom has 1 double. The bathroom has a bath with a shower attachment incorporated into the taps.

The estate extends to approximately 450 acres and includes an ancient oak forest. Raera is a working hill farm with sheep, hens, and sometimes young cattle.

Visiting Kilninver & Exploring Argyll:

The area is rich in wildlife, including foxes, otters pine martens and red squirrels. Sighting of buzzards and herons are common with occasional sightings of golden eagles. The Euchar is a beautiful spate river. Its magnificent waterfall has featured in films, including 'Ring of Bright Water'. You may be lucky enough to see a salmon leaping!

The splendid west coast town of Oban with its fine harbour and renowned McCaig's Tower is reached in minutes (9 miles) and has daily ferry sailings to Mull and the Outer Isles. Oban has a variety of interesting shops, post office, banking facilities, garages, many fine hotels and the exciting, hilly golf course at Glencruitten Golf Club.

The Cabin, St Agnes, Isles of Scilly (Sleeps 1-2)

The Cabin is a cosy retreat for 2 and can be found on St Agnes on the Isles of Scilly, near the church and just 10 yards from Periglis beach. The main island, St Mary's, can be reached by ship from Penzance, by fixed-wing aeroplane from Land’s End, Newquay or Exeter, or by helicopter from Penzance. There are regular passenger boats plying the short distances between St Mary's and the other inhabited islands, including St Agnes. Please contact us should you require more information about travel to or within the islands. We will assist with the transport of luggage from the St Agnes quay to the Cabin.

This property is a small granite barn which has been tastefully converted. There is a lovely view from the dining table looking along the beach. There is an open plan interior with a kitchen area, a living area and a comfortable bedroom area, with an adjacent shower room/toilet. There is a small garden area to the rear. This holiday home is perfect for 2 people (in twin beds).

We have made sure that the holiday accommodation is fully equipped and comfortably furnished. It includes:

St Agnes is a haven of peace and tranquillity. It is one of the 5 inhabited isles of the 100 or so Isles of Scilly, set some 28 miles South West of Land’s End, in the Atlantic Ocean. Periglis (meaning Church Bay) is in an idyllic location on the western side of St Agnes. It has a lovely beach and is the bay in which many islanders moor their boats. The property is only 10 yards from the beach! It is a 10-minute walk from Periglis to the post office and local store which stocks an excellent range of groceries, wine, beer, cards and souvenirs. Troytown Farm (a 5-minute walk from the Cabin) sells its own milk, cream, meat and ice cream. It is a 5-minute walk to Coastguards Café from which there are spectacular views out over the Western Rocks, the Bishop Lighthouse and the ocean beyond. It is a 15-minute walk to the island pub, the Turk's Head and the quay.

Tigh na Croit, Balquhidder, Lochearnhead, Stirlingshire (Sleeps 1-6)

Tigh na Croit offers self-catering accommodation located close to the small village of Balquhidder. This pretty Scottish village is near Lochearnhead on the west Perthshire/Stirlingshire border. Our holiday cottage is over 400 years old and is an ideal bolt hole for those who want a relaxing breakaway. It is in a perfect setting, surrounded by fields and mountains.

The cottage sleeps up to six people in three bedrooms. There are two ground floor double bedrooms and one twin room located on the first floor. One of the double rooms has an en suite shower room and the other rooms share the use of the large bathroom.

The sitting room is spacious and has a lovely open fireplace, comfortable seating and a TV/DVD player.

We have ensured that the kitchen is fully equipped and offers everything you will need. The kitchen comprises of an electric range cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, crockery, cutlery and a range of utensils.

Washing and drying facilities are also available.

Outside is a large private garden that has beautiful flowers, trees and benches so you can sit and enjoy the peace, overlooking the fields and mountains.

Balquhidder is a small village set in a beautiful and dramatic part of Scotland. The village is surrounded by mountains in the northern part of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Balquhidder is less than a 2-hour drive from both Edinburgh and Glasgow. Numerous activities are available in the area:

Walking.

Cycling.

Fishing.

Golf.

Wildlife spotting.

Horse riding.

With a large number of lochs in Loch Lomond, you will also find that there are many water sports available such as wakeboarding, water skiing, surfing, kayaking, canoeing, river rafting and sailing.

Stirlingshire has wide open spaces and heather strewn hills are ideal for country walks with magnificent views wherever you look. Unblemished by light pollution, savour the spectacular star-studded night skies, sunsets and sunrises. Whether you are seeking solitude and silence or a base for exploring a variety of activities, we are ideally located. Crinan & Kilmartin are within easy reach along with numerous attraction and places of interest.

Situated at the narrows between deep water and a tidal loch, Duntrune was built to guard the glens of Kilmartin and Kilmichael from seafaring marauders. Always a stronghold in those days, it was never the scene of a major conflict and is now accepted as the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland. The vaulted rooms on the ground floor date from the 12th Century, and the remainder of the keep from the 16th.

Guests can choose from one of four cottages on the estate, all of which have been tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard.

Seated high upon the spectacular rugged coastline of Argyll and surrounded by the outstanding landscape of the ancient kingdom of Dalriada, Duntrune Castle & estate is a very special place.
