Accommodation

We have 3 Scandinavian-style lodges to choose from, all set in an elevated position, offering wonderful views of the loch, across the hills of Colvend Golf Course towards the Solway Firth. The 4-star lodges are all well-equipped and come with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. All the properties have use of a communal garden. Onsite we also have a pub to enjoy.

Kestrel Lodge

Red Kite Lodge

This delightful lodge sleeps 2-4 people, great for a romantic getaway. Inside there is a double bedroom and a shower room with a walk-in shower. A relaxing open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area will suit all your needs. A patio door from the lounge leads to a balcony area, ideal for unwinding in with a glass of wine. Situated within 5 minutes of the ferry terminal in Tarbert, Harris, Dalhanna combines the warmth and comfort of home with wonderful unspoilt views of Loch Tarbert where seals and dolphins swim, and terns, oystercatchers and guillemots search for food in the clear western waters. Looking further there are wondrous views over the Minch to the Isle of Skye.

Dalhanna is a modern three-bedroom house that can provide accommodation for up to six people.

Tarbert is the main centre in Harris, and the accommodation is close to Ferry links to North Uist and Skye and a short walk to local amenities (shops, restaurants, tourist information, swimming pool/sports centre, bank etc).

Unspoilt beaches within a 20-minute drive either to the south or west of the accommodation. Dalhanna is an ideal base for a family or couples’ holiday. Other sporting activities such as golf (nine holes), tennis, fishing, swimming, sports exercise, walking and cycling can all be found locally. A larger variety of sporting and leisure facilities are available in Stornoway.

People come from all over the world to visit St. Clements Church in Rodel, where the Macleod chiefs used to worship in the early 1500s.

Duntrune Castle is in a beautiful part of Argyll, in the centre of a 5000-acre estate. This 12th-century castle and its estate are home to 5 beautiful holiday cottages. They offer the perfect place to stay for those who want a break away from the hustle and bustle of modern-day living. Whether you are seeking solitude and silence or a base for exploring a variety of activities, we are ideally located. Crinan & Kilmartin are within easy reach along with numerous attraction and places of interest.

Situated at the narrows between deep water and a tidal loch, Duntrune was built to guard the glens of Kilmartin and Kilmichael from seafaring marauders. Always a stronghold in those days, it was never the scene of a major conflict and is now accepted as the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland. The vaulted rooms on the ground floor date from the 12th Century, and the remainder of the keep from the 16th.

Guests can choose from one of four cottages on the estate, all of which have been tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard.

Seated high upon the spectacular rugged coastline of Argyll and surrounded by the outstanding landscape of the ancient kingdom of Dalriada, Duntrune Castle & estate is a very special place.
