Fidra Cottage offers modern self catering accommodation in the charming village of Dirleton. Based in a tranquil setting, we are ideal for a relaxing break in East Lothian.

Accommodation

Our cosy getaway is great for a memorable break in a lovely part of the country. The cottage sleeps up to 6 people and has been finished to a high standard.

On the ground floor is a living room with a toasty wood burner and comfy seating. The kitchen is great for home cooking and includes an Aga. Enjoy some lovely meals around the dining table that seats 8. A utility room houses the oven/hob/fridge freezer/dishwasher.

Three ground floor bedrooms are available, 2 king rooms and 1 twin room. A large walk-in shower room and family bathroom are also available. On the first floor is a king en suite room.

Outside there are wonderful gardens to enjoy, including a patio area with a large walled garden and laid lawn. At the bottom of the garden, there is also a summerhouse to unwind in.

Visiting Dirleton & Exploring East Lothian

We are in the ideal location for exploring the area. Locally there is a restaurant, the Open Arms and a great gastropub, the Castle Inn. There is also a cafe, bowling green, twelfth-century church and castle. We are also close to the gorgeous sandy beaches, including Yellowcraig Beach, just a 5-minute drive away. Great attractions to visit include:

Accommodation

We have 3 Scandinavian-style lodges to choose from, all set in an elevated position, offering wonderful views of the loch, across the hills of Colvend Golf Course towards the Solway Firth. The 4-star lodges are all well-equipped and come with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. All the properties have use of a communal garden. Onsite we also have a pub to enjoy.

Kestrel Lodge

This cosy lodge sleeps 2-6 people, great for a tranquil retreat. Inside there is a super king bedroom and bathroom with a shower over bath. Our charming lodge sleeps 2-6 people, perfect for a family or group holiday. Inside there is a super king bedroom and bathroom with a shower over bath. A spacious open plan sitting/dining area is ideal for relaxing in and the kitchen is well-equipped. Doors from the lounge open onto a balcony area, ideal for relaxing on whilst savouring the views. Open-tread stairs lead to a large twin room, a second lounge area and a double en suite room.

Red Kite Lodge

This delightful lodge sleeps 2-4 people, great for a romantic getaway. Inside there is a double bedroom and a shower room with a walk-in shower. A relaxing open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area will suit all your needs. A patio door from the lounge leads to a balcony area, ideal for unwinding in with a glass of wine. Open tread stairs from the small sitting area lead to a larger lounge. A further super king bedroom is also available.

The Mews

A fabulous, brick-built barn conversion located in the village of Hollington, 6 miles from Ashbourne. Beautifully converted, The Mews seamlessly combines original features with modern comforts to provide delightful, bright and airy accommodation.

The property boasts a fabulous sitting room with feature fireplace, a gas wood burning effect stove and beamed ceilings, a ground floor bathroom with roll-edge bath and a galleried first floor en suite bedroom. Includes a TV, DVD and CD player/radio.

The Retreat

Sleeps 2 but can be booked with neighbouring Hall Farm Mews (sleeps 8/9). The Old Smithy

This is our luxuriously appointed barn conversion. Fabulous self contained accommodation, sleeping up to 5 people, the accommodation comprises the whole of the first floor as a bedroom suite with bespoke king size bed, freestanding bath and comfy chairs, making it ideal for couples as well as families. Includes a 3D TV with Freeview, CD and iPod dock.

A twin room, retained oak beams and truss with en suite shower room is located on the ground floor.

Accommodation

Our fabulous house is ideal for Metropolitan types seeking an idyllic weekend escape, offering high-quality facilities in a tranquil location yet within each reach of London.

The house is perfect for groups of friends or extended families, plus those with limited mobility as there are open plan areas and bedrooms on the ground floor. The house offers lots of space for peace and relaxation, including French doors which open onto a balcony area with seating, offering a great spot for a coffee whilst savouring the sea views. Inside there are two spacious living areas, including one upstairs chic living area with a lavish sofa and log burner, plus a downstairs living room with a gas fire. We also have a separate downstairs study/TV room that offers a cosy place to watch a movie. With lots of areas to unwind in, we are great for muti-generational gatherings looking for space to be with everyone or in their own space.

4/5 wonderful bedrooms are available, furnished with luxury bed linen and offering a modern seaside style throughout. On the ground floor are 2 euro-king size rooms. Both rooms have en suite facilities. The top floor has a king room and family bathroom, plus a twin room that offers garden and bay views. A fold-down bed in the ground floor study/den can be made as a 5th bedroom.

Excellent facilities include: an electric oven, microwave, gas hob, fridge/freezer, wine fridge, toaster and Nespresso machine can be found in the kitchen, plus a TV with iPlayer etc in the living room and downstairs study/den. A toasty log burner is also available in the upstairs lounge.

We are in a brilliant location for exploring the area. The beach is only a 5-minute walk away and the town centre is just a short stroll away. The sun-filled lounge boasts a full-height glass wall that offers views over the hills of South Deeside, whilst bi-fold doors seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor living. The space comes with comfy seating and a large 4G TV.

A fully equipped kitchen/dining space is finished to the highest standards and comes with everything you need for home cooking.
