Little Laight Cottage, Loch Ryan, Stranraer, Dumfries & Galloway


Little Laight is a recently rebuilt cottage perched high on a hill above Cairnryan, overlooking Loch Ryan and facing south towards Stranraer. Once an old shepherd’s cottage and now part of the Loch Ryan Estate, it offers breathtaking views across the loch towards the Mull of Kintyre and even Ireland on a clear day.

Surrounded by rolling hills and situated beside an SSSI, the cottage is immersed in nature, with sheep, deer, cattle and an abundance of birdlife as its only neighbours. It provides an ideal retreat for those seeking solitude, peace and complete tranquillity.

Accommodation

Little Laight has been rebuilt to a high specification and features its own water supply, double glazing throughout and underfloor electric heating, powered where possible by a nearby domestic wind turbine. Arranged entirely on one floor, the cottage sleeps six guests.

The master bedroom includes a 6ft double bed and an en-suite bathroom. Two additional twin bedrooms share a bathroom, accessible separately from each room for convenience. The bright sitting room, with three windows framing the stunning views, creates a relaxing space to unwind. The modern, spacious kitchen and dining area is fully equipped with a dishwasher, large fridge, large freezer, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer, offering a light, comfortable and highly practical living environment.

Outside, guests have access to ample storage in the sheds beside the cottage, generous parking and a barbecue area with outdoor seating. A ramp leads to the entrance, ensuring accessibility for visitors with limited mobility.
