Castle Kennels in Aberfeldy offers wonderful self catering accommodation in a delightful conversion of the original dog kennels for Castle Menzies. We are located in a beautiful part of Perthshire and a great base for exploring the local area.

Accommodation

Our charming property is only 200 yards from the castle and benefits from its own direct entrance some 150yds off the B846. The house is an open but secluded setting, with a lovely garden to relax in whilst savouring the stunning views across the Tay Valley. Situated to the south of the property is a stone fenced patio which is enclosed, the ideal place for a glass of wine in the afternoon sun.

On the ground floor is an open plan living/dining area with a Sky and a DVD. The perfect space to unwind after a day sightseeing. The well-equipped kitchen comes with a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave etc.

Two bedrooms are available: a double and twin/double. Both rooms share a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Our property is the ideal place to escape from the pressures of modern life and a great base for exploring the Upper Tay Valley and scenic countryside. Aberfeldy is a small market town and the heart of all that goes on in the Upper Tay Valley. You can enjoy walking along lots of beautiful single-track back roads, including the road from Amulree to Kenmore, through Glenquaich and over the hill into Kenmore which has outstanding views of Loch Tay. Edinburgh is around 1 ½ hours away and has an array of fabulous attractions to see, including Edinburgh Castle and The Royal Mile. Alternatively, head to Aviemore and enjoy the ski slopes of Cairngorm. Further attractions to visit include:

Our luxurious cottage sits in its own grounds and is ideal for a family or group looking for somewhere special to stay. The house is elegantly furnished and guests have access to 17 acres of grounds.

On the ground floor is a relaxing open plan living area with comfy seating, a flat-screen TV with Sky and a DVD player. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and comes with a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave etc. The ground floor also has a super king/twin room with en suite facilities.

The first floor has 2 super king/twin rooms with en suite facilities. Both rooms have a TV, sofa and sitting area, the ideal spot for a morning coffee.

The Old Convent Apartments are a collection of luxury holiday homes located in a beautiful part of Inverness-shire at Fort Augustus by Loch Ness. These holiday homes are ideal for couples friends and families who want to explore this stunning part of Scotland.

All the apartments have been renovated to a very high standard adding modern touches like central heating and double glazing! They are all very comfortable and spacious with all the facilities you could possibly need.

The Old Convent was originally built as a church by Lord Lovat in 1842 and known as St.Peters chapel. In 1888 it was then offered to ‘The Sister’s of Mercy’ from Elgin to use as a school and their convent, during their short occupation it was known as St.Columba’s convent. After extensive renovations were completed in March 1892 for a new order of nun’s, it was renamed St Scholastica’s Priory until 1922 when the remaining nuns were moved to Holm Eden Abbey. Since then many people have lived in the convent including a few let’s say…'colourful' characters!

Fort Augustus is the perfect place to relax with a short walk to the centre of the village where you can find grocery shops, butcher, post office, ATM, petrol station and several pubs and restaurants. You can take a boat trip up to Loch Ness or simply chill on the canal side watching the boats negotiate the locks!

Benavon Cottage, Tomintoul, Glenlivet, Banffshire (Sleeps 1-4)

Benavon offers self catering accommodation for 4 people in a traditional stone-built cottage situated in the village of Tomintoul in the Cairngorms National Park. Tomintoul is the highest village in the Highlands on the Glenlivet Estate.

On the ground floor, there is a modern, fully equipped kitchen/dining area with cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Also on the ground floor, there is a double bedroom, adult-sized bunk bedroom and bathroom with shower, hand basin and WC. All the beds have electric blankets and duvets and there is an extra bed available if required.

Upstairs is the lounge with Freeview TV and DVD player. There is free wi-fi access as well.

All bed linen, towels, background heating and hot water are included. There is private parking and guests have use of a shared, enclosed garden.

All areas are sanitised with an electrostatic fogging machine.

The delightful fishing village of Uig is only 7 miles away and has ferry connections to the Outer Hebrides. Ben Tianavaig is a hill located on the Isle of Skye near Portree and boasts stunning views. Creagalain Cottage, Borve, Isle of Skye (Sleeps 1-5)

This very comfortable, totally renovated traditional croft house sleeps four adults plus a child. It is situated within the crofting township of Borve.

The house is set back from the single track road that loops through Borve off the A87 Portree-Uig road and is situated just three miles from Skye's picturesque capital, Portree. This central location is ideal for touring the island.

There is a comfortable lounge with colour TV and DVD player, a spacious dining kitchen with all facilities including electric cooker, washing machine, microwave etc, and a ground floor shower room with toilet and WC. The cottage also has a freezer and a tumble dryer.

Just three miles south of the cottage lies the village of Portree, the main shopping centre of the island. There are two supermarkets here, as well as a bakery, butchers, chemist, hardware and souvenir shops as well as garages and filling stations.

There are several hotels, bars, restaurants and cafes in the village and the Aros centre with its sea-eagle and island exhibition and regular music, cinema and theatre performances are on the outskirts.
