Number Nine is a spacious and comfortable, family-friendly self-catering holiday home near Aviemore, set within the Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands. Situated on the edge of the forest in a quiet cul-de-sac in the scenic village of Carrbridge, the property provides a peaceful base for exploring the surrounding countryside.

Accommodation

Inside, the cosy sitting room features an open fire, with a complimentary basket of logs provided. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV with Chromecast, a DVD player, and a selection of games, books, maps and DVDs. A fireguard is available on request.

The modern kitchen is well equipped and includes a large dining table seating six, gas hob and electric oven, microwave, George Foreman grill, dishwasher, large fridge, upright freezer, washing machine and cafetière. A separate utility room with a clothes pulley offers a practical space for drying outdoor clothing and equipment after a day of adventure.

The accommodation comprises a double bedroom with en suite bathroom featuring a walk-in shower, a single child’s bedroom, and two additional single bedrooms. The main bathroom includes both a bath and shower. Bed linen and towels are provided, with additional fleece blankets and duvets available in each bedroom.

The property also benefits from Wi-Fi, ample storage for jackets and outdoor wear, a vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, high chair, and essential household items such as dishcloths, hand soap, toilet rolls, washing-up liquid and dishwasher tablets.

Outside

Number Nine offers a front garden and a fully enclosed rear garden laid with gravel and raised heather beds, providing a safe outdoor space for families (please note there is no lawn). Parking is available for up to three cars, and electricity and gas are included in the rental. For added peace of mind, the house is equipped with a fire extinguisher, fire blanket and first aid kit.

Visiting the Area

Carrbridge is a charming Highland village with plenty to see and do nearby. The village is home to the historic Carrbridge Packhorse Bridge, the oldest stone bridge in the Highlands, as well as the popular Landmark Forest Adventure Park.

A short drive away, Aviemore offers year-round outdoor activities, while the spectacular Cairngorms National Park provides opportunities for walking, cycling, wildlife watching and winter sports. With ancient forests, scenic lochs and mountain views all within easy reach, Carrbridge is an excellent base for exploring the Scottish Highlands.

Miss Mackintosh's Classroom:

This former classroom has its own private entrance and hallway leading to a large open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, from which you can access a shower room.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher and all crockery and utensils you will need for your stay. The lounge has a widescreen TV with surround sound and an iPod docking station/CD/DVD player.

There is a feature spiral staircase that takes you to a bright and airy upper landing giving access to the one double and one twin bedroom (the twin beds can be zip and linked to provide a super kingsize bed on request) and another bathroom.

Mrs Clark's Classroom:

This self-catering property can sleep 4 people in a double and twin room. The accommodation is an open plan like Miss Mackintosh and is well equipped with a widescreen TV, Blu-ray DVD player, iPod docking station etc.

The Staffroom:

This single-storey property can accommodate 4 people in a master en suite and a twin room. There is an open plan living room which has a widescreen TV and DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped.

There is much to see and do in the local area, including canoeing, windsurfing, skiing, golf, quad biking, horse riding, bird watching or indeed walking or cycling.

The Moray Firth Coast is half an hour away and here you will find sandy beaches and colourful harbours. Dolphins and porpoises can often be seen off the coast.

If you want to stay onsite then you can enjoy the outdoor hot tub and sauna which have wonderful views over the Cairngorm Mountains.

Set in 7 acres of grounds and surrounded on three sides by natural woodland, Fairwinds Chalets are in the centre of the village of Carrbridge, Inverness-shire in the Cairngorm National Park.

We have two different types of chalets available. Two-bedroom chalets sleeping up to four people and three-bedroom chalets sleeping up to six people.

Being situated in the Cairngorm National Park there are all sorts of outdoor activities available. Guests can try out skiing, snowboarding, walking, cycling, white water rafting, fishing, sailing, zip-wiring, quad biking and horse trekking.

The village for Carrbridge is in the northern part of the Cairngorms. The Highland town of Aviemore is a 10 minute drive with the capital of the Highlands, Inverness, a 25-minute drive away. There are numerous distilleries within easy reach from the accommodation where you can see how the whisky is made and even sample some of the final product.
