The Old Stables at Fern Farm, Buxton, Derbyshire, Peak District National Park

The Old Stables at Fern Farm offer comfortable and homely accommodation for couples, friends and families. They are in a rural location and within easy walking distance of the centre of Buxton. Buxton Riding School is behind the cottages, where we offer riding classes and pony hire. Our location is perfect for those who are looking for a relaxing base from which to explore Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park.

The cottages have been created by the conversion of some former farm outbuildings. These late Victorian brick buildings have been tastefully converted to a high standard

Buxton is a spa town with some magnificent buildings from its golden age - the 18th and 19th centuries. Among these is the famous Crescent - modelled on the one at Bath. Buxton also has an Opera House where there is an annual festival of Opera, plus an annual Gilbert and Sullivan Festival and a regular programme of shows. Behind the Opera House lies the Pavilion Gardens, 18 acres of parkland with a miniature train, a bandstand, boating lake and the Octagon, where antique fairs and other events are held.

The surrounding Peak District has numerous attractions, including stately homes, show caves, ancient monuments, magnificent scenery and some excellent walking, cycling and rock-climbing.
