Uppermoor Farmhouse & Annexe, located on the outskirts of Parwich village, offers a splendid retreat for large groups looking for exceptional comfort in a picturesque setting. Situated at an equal distance from the famous market towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, and Buxton, it is an ideal spot for extended family gatherings, corporate events, and various group activities.

The property comprises a beautifully renovated farmhouse and annexe that can accommodate 20-24 people, with most of the 9 or 11 bedrooms featuring private bathrooms, ensuring nearly everyone enjoys their own space. The accommodation is designed to foster social interaction, with vast areas to eat, drink, and socialise together.

The ground floor features an open plan layout, creating a wonderful space to relax and mingle. Farmhouse & Annexe

Our wonderful accommodation consists of a beautifully renovated farmhouse and Annexe which sleeps 20-24 people and guests benefit from private bathrooms for almost every bedroom (either 9 or 11 bedrooms and 8 or 10 bathrooms). There is ample space for everyone to eat, drink and socialise together.

The ground floor is an open plan design and a fabulous area to unwind in. Rustle up a storm in the fully-equipped kitchen that comes with white shaker-style fitted cupboards and a combination of solid oak and granite worktops, plus a Belfast sink. Appliances include an AGA-type oil-fired cooker and a second range cooker with two ovens and a breakfast area too. French doors open onto a choice of rear terraces for Al-fresco dining with stunning uninterrupted views.

Enjoy a feast in the dining area that comes with two magnificent dining tables that easily push together for everyone to sit together. After a busy day sightseeing, unwind in the spacious beamed sitting area which includes a toasty double-sided wood-burning stove and leads into the second Sitting area which is an ‘Orangery Style’ relaxing area to savour the far-reaching views.

All of the bedrooms are individually furnished and enjoy delightful touches, perfect for a restful nights sleep. 10 of the 11 bedrooms have lavish ensuite facilities, plus sumptuous fluffy towels and bathrobes.

Please enquire to the owners if you wish to add a further 4 guests or require additional bedrooms and we can offer our Coach House which nestles in the same courtyard setting with two further bedrooms both ensuite at an optional extra cost.

Visiting Uppermoor Farm & exploring the Peak National Park/Derbyshire

We are in a fantastic location for exploring the area with a network of footpaths and bridleways right on its doorstep. The nearby town of Ashbourne (known as the gateway to the Peak District) has lots of boutiques, antique shops, superb restaurants and cafes, plus an abundance of wonderful Georgian architecture. Bakewell with its famous ‘Bakewell Pudding’ and also Buxton ‘a Spa town’ with its gorgeous pavilion gardens and theatre are a must to visit too if you have time.

We are very fortunate and own the 70 acres of rolling green fields surrounding the property and guests can watch the fabulous sunsets and feast their eyes on the famous dry stone boundary walling everywhere, which gives a ‘ pretty patchwork effect’ on the horizon. There are many superb attractions to visit which are easily accessible and just a short drive away by car including:

Chatsworth House.

Dovedale (with its famous stepping stones).

Ilam (known for being the plague village).

Thorpe Cloud.

Lathkill Dale.

Monsal Head.

Lower Damgate Farm Cottages in Ilam offers superb self-catering accommodation in a range of cottages, as part of the main 16th Century farmhouse and an alpaca hut, perfect for the ultimate rural retreat. We are based in one of the most beautiful areas of England in the south of the Peak District National Park, nestled between Dovedale and the Manifold Rivers. Rural, accessible and surrounded by stunning scenery, we are a perfect setting for any occasion, including family breaks, reunions, special occasions, group get-togethers, parties, corporate events or wedding receptions.

The Courtyard Property:

Our 3 fabulous courtyard properties, Reuben’s Roost, Bremen’s Barn and Hope’s Hideaway offer anything you need for a magical break in a stunning countryside setting. All the cottages are brimming with character and include a range of excellent facilities. You enjoy a feast in the glorious communal kitchen/dining area in Hope, whilst a spacious games room comes with comfy seating, a pool table and a big screen TV.

Reuben’s Root also boasts a large living area with a magnificent, vaulted ceiling and exposed beams, plus a gorgeous mezzanine area. The entire property offers plenty of flexibility for space and relaxation as well, offering break-off rooms, including livings areas and kitchens. Outside there are enclosed gardens to share, perfect for fun and games or al fresco dining in the afternoon sun. You are also welcome to wander around the paddocks, wooded area and 22 acres of fields. You can even feed the alpacas and goats or collect eggs, offering an authentic rural experience.

Reubens Roost – Sleeps 7:

This charming cottage has a downstairs double bedroom and 2 upstairs bedrooms, a double and a small double with a single bed in the truss’s attic room. Downstairs there is a bathroom. Unwind in the open plan living/dining area, whilst a mezzanine area has a small sofa bed and a delightful Juliette balcony. A separate kitchen is great for home cooking.

Bremen’s Barn – Sleeps 8:

Our fabulous cottage has a downstairs four-poster room with a small sofa bed, plus 3 upstairs double rooms. Two bathrooms are on the ground floor. Upstairs a lovely open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area includes wonderful original exposed trusses and wooden floors.

Hopes Hideaway – Sleeps 9/10:

This outstanding cottage is great for large groups, offering 3 bedrooms on the ground floor (1 four-poster, 2 twins), plus an upstairs double room. Two pull-out sofa beds are available in the upstairs living/games room and there are also two bathrooms. On the ground floor is a well-equipped kitchen with a burner range cooker, two large fridge freezers and washing facilities. Next to the kitchen is a fantastic dining area and a snug area.

Purdy’s Place – Sleeps 4 plus 1:

We also offer B&B accommodation in this superb 2-bedroom annexe, based in part of the 15th Century farmhouse, offering plenty of charm and character. The beautiful double bedroom has a slipper bath to soak yourself in, whilst the 2nd bedroom has a twin and use of an excellent shower room. The kitchen comes with a range of appliances for rustling up a storm and a lovely living area is great for relaxing in after a day in the countryside.

The Alpaca Hut – Sleeps 2:

Our luxurious shepherd's hut is perfect for a romantic getaway. The hut comes with a double en suite and you can soak away your troubles in the glorious hot tub with a glass of bubbly.

We also have a small animal sanctuary on site with alpacas, goats, ponies, sheep, cows, ducks, geese and chickens on the farm and encourage all to interact with them and collect the eggs or feed the animals. If you want to make your stay even more special for a party or special occasion, we do have our event barn which is hired out with the cottages for weddings and other events, we endeavour to make our guest's stay special and the properties have to be right for you. The ambience of the property speaks for itself.

Visiting Ilam & Exploring Derbyshire:

The area has lots of stunning scenery to see, perfect for relaxing walks and peaceful cycle rides. You can visit the National Trust Park at Ilam or visit the magnificent Chatsworth House. Head to the famous caves at Pooles Cavern or Blue John Cavern, or experience a thrilling day on the rides at Alton Towers.
