Kellah Farm Cottages consists of two self catering cottages at Kellah in Northumberland. Kellah is a working farm and has been farmed by the same family since 1849. It is an ideal place for exploring Hadrian's Wall Country.
Chapel View Cottage - Sleeps 6
This is a 4 star, original stone-built miners cottage. Chapel View has a solid fuel open fire and the biomass boiler provides the central heating and hot water making this a warm and cosy cottage at any time of the year. Chapel View has a private walled garden at the rear, overlooking pastures. Pets are welcome. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, each with a double and a single bed and a bathroom with bath, electric shower, washbasin and toilet. Downstairs is a kitchen/dining room and lounge room.
Kellah Cottage - Sleeps 4
This is also a 4 star, original stone-built miners cottage. The cottage has a solid fuel open fire and is centrally heated by the biomass boiler which also provides plenty of hot water keeping the cottage cosy all year round. It has a private walled garden to the front, overlooking the North Pennine Fells. Pets are welcome. Upstairs is an electric shower room with washbasin and toilet and two bedrooms; one has a double bed, the other a double and a single bed. Downstairs is a kitchen, lounge room and separate dining room.
Kellah is ideally situated near many of the Roman sites along Hadrian’s Wall, including Vindolanda, Housesteads, Birdoswald, Chesters, Carvoran and Corbridge. The wall is a permanent reminder of what the Roman’s did for us and is a continuing challenge to archaeologists and historians, it is a much-loved attraction to visitors. Hadrian’s Wall Path is 84 miles long and Hadrian's Wall Bus Service links the major sites during the summer.
