High Barn is an exceptional stone barn conversion privately owned and capable of accommodating up to 8 adults or children. This remarkable property is situated in the heart of a Designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in South Devon, it is a mere 1 mile away from the pristine Erme estuary. Wonwell beach, with its expansive stretches of sand during low tide, provides the perfect setting for paddling and exploring with fishing nets. At high tide, it transforms into an idyllic spot for boating enthusiasts.

High Barn

Access to High Barn is granted through a gate in the garden wall, leading from a roadside parking bay that can comfortably accommodate 2 large cars (estate size) and 1 small car. The garden itself is fully enclosed and features a picnic table and barbecue, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for young children and dogs.

The house boasts oil-fired central heating and spans across two floors. The ground floor offers a spacious and open-plan layout. On the left side, you will find a generously sized sitting room, complete with a wood-burning stove, TV, and DVD player. The right side comprises a well-equipped kitchen/dining room, featuring a four-ring electric hob, double oven, microwave, and, during the winter months, an Aga stove.

Ascending to the top floor, you will discover four inviting bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom is expansive and includes an ensuite bathroom. There is also a double bedroom, a twin room, a small bedroom with two single beds, and an additional bathroom for convenience.

The second barn's upper floor has recently undergone refurbishment, and now boasts a cozy ambiance with the addition of a wood-burning stove. This open room serves as a recreational space with a table tennis setup, perfect for children to enjoy.

High Barn presents an ideal retreat where you can immerse yourself in the breathtaking natural surroundings of South Devon while enjoying the comfort and luxury of a beautifully converted stone barn.

High Barn is nestled within the charming hamlet of Torr, conveniently located just a ten-minute walk or a three-minute drive from the center of Kingston. At the heart of the local community, you'll find The Dolphin pub, a lively hub that embodies the spirit of this delightful area. While there is no shop within the immediate vicinity, there is a superb minimarket/general store situated in St Anne's Chapel, a mere 2 miles away towards Bigbury. This well-stocked store operates long hours and caters to most of your holiday needs, ensuring convenience and accessibility during your stay.

Mount Folly Farm is a working farm situated in a wonderful location with panoramic views over Bigbury Bay and the River Avon in Kingsbridge, Devon.

Accommodation

This holiday cottage comfortably accommodates seven people. Upstairs there are three bedrooms – a main bedroom with a king size double and a single bed, another double and a third bedroom with bunk beds. Downstairs there is a large lounge including bay windows that look out to sea. The lounge has a Freeview digital TV, DVD, woodburning stove, dining table and sofas. Plus there is a large, fully equipped kitchen with dining area. There is also a separate toilet & washbasin and traditional hallway.

Cornwallis offers lovely self catering accommodation in the picturesque fishing village of Appledore. We are perfect for an idyllic break in Devon.

Accommodation

Our spacious property boasts stunning views across the estuary and enjoys a south-facing setting. This colourful cottage is brimming with charm and luxuriously furnished.

Inside our house is a fabulous open plan kitchen, including a retro-style table for 6 and comfy seating area in front of the toasty wood burner. Appliances for home-cooking include a single oven, hob, dishwasher, free-standing retro-style fridge freezer and Nespresso coffee machine. Double doors open onto the patio and garden.

Unwind in our cosy sitting room, featuring comfy seating, a toasty wood burner, Freesat TV and DVD player.

On the first floor, we have two attractive bedrooms and a bathroom. The south-facing king room enjoys glorious estuary views. A twin room is also available. Stairs lead to a gorgeous vaulted super king suite which boasts amazing views. En suite facilities included a large shower. All the bedrooms come with lavish Egyptian cotton linens.

Outside we have a delightful garden and a small grassy area. We also have a sunny deck with outdoor seating and BBQ for al fresco dining. To the front, there is a small sunny terrace for cafe-style seating, great for a coffee in the morning sun.

Visiting Appledore & Exploring Devon

Our cottage is in a great location for exploring the area. Appledore sits on the banks of the Torridge estuary and is home to narrow streets with pastel-coloured cottages, cosy cafes and delightful gift shops. Enjoy strolling around the quayside, just a 3-minute walk from us. You can enjoy a scenic trip from the boat across the estuary to the stunning shores of Instow. Excellent attractions to visit include:

We have delightful accommodation in our two-bedroom bungalow. Bedrooms consist of a double and twin, ideal for a family or group holiday. The bedrooms share a shower and toilet room with a wash basin. All bed linen and towels are included. Unwind in the living room after a day sightseeing. A well-equipped kitchen/dining area is great for home-cooking. Outside there is a garden with a patio and lawn area for al fresco dining over a few glasses of wine.
