Railway Cottage in Newtyle provides delightful self catering accommodation, nestled on the Angus/Perthshire border. Our cottage is based in the beautiful fields of the Strathmore Valley and ideal for exploring Blairgowrie.

Accommodation

We offer cosy accommodation in this tastefully renovated former farm worker’s cottage. The cottage sleeps up to 5 people and is well-equipped with a range of facilities to suit all your needs.

Inside our spacious cottage is an open plan living/kitchen area. The kitchen is well-equipped with a range of appliances, including a dishwasher, washing machine/dryer. Unwind the living area after a day of exploring.

3 bedrooms are available. The master en suite comes with a super king that can be made a twin. A double room comes with a king-size duvet and the single room has the option of a second bed to make as a twin room.

Outside we have outdoor seating and a BBQ for al fresco dining whilst savouring the setting. A spacious indoor kennel area with a covered run attached to the storage shed is also available.

Visiting Newtyle & Exploring Angus

We are based in a great location for visiting the bustling city of Dundee, home to the V&A Museum, Discovery Point, excellent restaurants and vibrant nightlight. The whole can enjoy Wildshore water activities, Combat City laser tag, Ryze trampoline park or Olympia Leisure Pool. Superb attractions to visit include:

Camperdown Park and Wildlife Centre.

Churchdale Farm, Ashford-in-the-Water, Bakewell, Derbyshire (Sleeps 1-4)

Churchdale Farm is a wonderful, rural base for a holiday in the Peak District. Tucked away down a quiet country lane, these 3 spacious holiday cottages provide a high standard of accommodation. The 5-star gold award cottages have immense character, with exposed beams and log burning stoves. The kitchens are fully equipped with washing machines, dishwashers and microwaves. Free Wi-Fi connection is provided.

Derwent Cottage is an "upside-down" cottage which sleeps 4. It has a large upstairs sitting room with magnificent exposed beams & log-burning stove. This cottage is ideal for two couples and downstairs there is an en suite double bedroom with a walk in shower and bath, a twin bedded room and an additional bathroom.

Dove Cottage is a charming former milking parlour which sleeps 3. It has a cosy sitting room with a log burning stove and exposed original stonework. Upstairs there are wonderful old beams, a double bedroom with a king-sized bed, a single bedded room and a bathroom.

Wye Cottage is a large romantic hideaway for 2, boasting a spacious bedroom with a king-sized bed and magnificent oak beams. Adjoining it is a large bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower and a bath. The sitting room has a natural stone fireplace incorporating a wood-burning stove.

Wake up to the sounds of the countryside! Leave your car and walk or cycle on the level, wildflower-strewn Monsal Trail and investigate the newly opened tunnels. Walk to the village and buy your provisions and admire the picturesque “Sheepwash Bridge” or quench your thirst at one of the pubs. The area is a treasure trove of history, beauty and gastro experiences. Within a 10 minute drive are Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. The attractive market town of Bakewell offers a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants.
