Churchdale Farm is a rural, central Peak District holiday base. Tucked away down a quiet country lane, the three spacious farm holiday cottages provide a high standard of accommodation. These 5-star gold award cottages have immense character, with exposed beams and log-burning stoves. The kitchens are fully equipped with washing machines, dishwashers and microwaves, and free Wi-Fi connection is provided.

Derwent Cottage – Sleeps 4

Derwent Cottage is an upside-down property featuring a large upstairs sitting room with exposed beams and a log-burning stove. There is also a very well-equipped kitchen. Ideal for two couples, the ground floor includes an en-suite double bedroom with a walk-in shower and bath, a twin-bedded room and an additional bathroom.

Dove Cottage – Sleeps 3

Originally a milking parlour, Dove Cottage has a cosy sitting room with a log-burning stove, exposed original stonework and a 40-inch wall-mounted television. Upstairs, guests will find old beams, a double bedroom with a king-sized bed, a single-bedded room and a bathroom.

Wye Cottage – Sleeps 2

Wye Cottage is a large romantic hideaway for two, boasting a spacious bedroom with a king-sized carved bed and oak beams. Adjoining it is a large bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower and bath. The sitting room has a natural stone fireplace incorporating a wood-burning stove.

Visiting Ashford-in-the-Water & Exploring Derbyshire

Guests can wake up to the sounds of the countryside, leave their car behind and walk or cycle along the level, wildflower-strewn Monsal Trail, exploring the newly opened tunnels. A short walk leads to the village, where provisions can be bought and the picturesque “Sheepwash Bridge” admired, or a drink enjoyed at one of the pubs. The area is rich in history, beauty and gastro experiences. These luxury Derbyshire Dales cottages on our working farm are within a 5 mile drive of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. We are only ¼ mile from the famous Monsal Trail, ideal for walking and cycling, 1 mile from Ashford-in-the-Water and 2½ miles from Bakewell.

The farm was formerly part of the Chatsworth estate and the home farm for Churchdale Hall where many members of the Duke of Devonshire’s family have resided.
