Timberstone, Clee Stanton, Ludlow, Shropshire (Sleeps 1-12)


Timberstone offers outstanding self-catering accommodation in the quaint hamlet of Clee Stanton, set in a wonderful countryside location. We are close to the market town of Ludlow and in the ideal location for exploring Shropshire.

Our beautifully refurbished country cottage seamlessly blends rural character with modern design, great for the ultimate country escape. The cottage sleeps 10 people, whilst further accommodation is available in The Retreat to sleep a further 2 people, making it perfect for groups or family gatherings.

Inside this spacious cottage, there is a cosy sitting area with comfy seating, a TV and a wood burner, offering a great place to socialise after a day of exploring. You can also unwind in the sun-filled conservatory, offering a lovely place for a morning coffee over a good book. Rustle up a feast in the well-equipped farmhouse kitchen which comes with a range of appliances. Savour delicious meals around the dining table with your loved ones.

In total, there are four gorgeous bedrooms, each with a king-size bed. The Slate Room and The Oak Room boast magnificent wooden beams and enjoy glorious views across the garden, or across to Clee Hill. The rooms also have sofa beds upon request and a single bed is available in the Slate Room. Two more rooms are available, the Dhustone Room and Clay Room, with the latter offering a delightful balcony to relax on.

In the garden of the main house, we also have The Retreat, available for an additional cost. Facilities include a king-sized bed, sofa bed, en suite bathroom, a toasty wood burner and a small kitchenette.

A luxurious hot tub is also available for an additional cost.

We are near the picturesque town of Ludlow, hope to excellent pubs, brilliant restaurants and independent shops. Majestic Ludlow Castle is an amazing, ruined fortress that is a must-see attraction for history fans. You can also take a nostalgic driven ride on the magical steam railway in Bridgnorth. Walkers can enjoy a scenic walk on the Shropshire Way.

Vicarage Cottage, Hollinsclough, Buxton, Derbyshire, Peak District National Park (Sleeps 1-5)


Vicarage Cottage at Hollinsclough, near Buxton, sleeps five and is part of what was once the Parsonage and then the Vicarage of the village. With the Methodist chapel beside it, it has featured in much of the Peak District literature over the years.

The bright and cheerful south-facing sitting room was once the room where the Vicar or Parson would have received his parishioners and entertained. On entering, one is drawn to the sash windows with their attractive shutters and mouldings. With its fireplace and panelled doors, this is a delightful room to relax and unwind. (The open fire can be used and firewood will be provided.) There is a TV, DVD player and stereo in this room.

There is an opening off the sitting room with a small study area.

The welcoming traditional kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, clothes washer, sandwich toaster and a microwave oven. There is a large table that can seat six comfortably. Facing East, this room gets the morning sun.

Above the sitting room is an airy double bedroom with two sash windows. There are three beds two of which can be grouped as a double. The room has a loo, basin en suite and a second TV.

A second double bedroom also looks out towards Crome Hill.

The bathroom has another loo, a bath with a shower attachment, an electric shaver facility above the basin, and an electric towel rail.

Hollinsclough is a charming friendly village in the remarkable country where the sounds are the distant rumble of a passing tractor, cows and chickens going about their daily life and the stream running down to the River Dove.

Peartree Cottage, Northlew, Okehampton, Devon (Sleeps 1-4)


Peartree Cottage offers wonderful self-catering accommodation near the charming village of Northlew. We are near Okehampton and in the perfect location for discovering all that Devon has to offer.

We are a haven for nature lovers, nestled in 2 acres of gorgeous grounds. The cottage sleeps 4 people and offers everything you need for a magical rural getaway.

The property adjoins the owner’s country house and offers plenty of space to unwind in. Inside there is a double-aspect kitchen/dining area with a range of appliances for home cooking. After a busy day exploring, unwind in the triple aspect sitting room which has comfy seating, a toast wood burning stove, TV, CD player and DVD player.

Upstairs on the first floor, there are two large bedrooms. Each bedroom is beautifully furnished and comes with en suite facilities. The double room comes with a 5-foot bed and the second room has a twin bed. Both rooms enjoy glorious views of the garden, meadow and hills. All linen is provided. A separate laundry is available for guests in the Old Cob Barn, which also acts as overflow accommodation.

Outside there is a private patio and a lawn with delightful shrubs. We also provide garden furniture including a parasol, chairs, recliners and a barbecue, great for al fresco dining whilst admiring your surroundings. The garden gate opens onto a gorgeous wildflower meadow and small copse which belongs to Howards Gorhuish.

We are nestled in a tranquil rural setting but also in a great base for exploring the area. You can visit the sandy beaches of Widemouth Bay, Bude & Instow. Head to the picturesque fishing harbours of Port Isaac (Doc Martin's 'home') and Boscastle or the historic village of Clovelly. You can also wander around the spectacular scenery at Dartmoor National Park.

Morndyke, Busby Stoop, Thirsk, North Yorkshire (Sleeps 1-3)


Morndyke at Busby Stoop offers wonderful self-catering accommodation on our unique working farm, offering a magical parrot sanctuary and a gorgeous lake to fish on. We are based near the bustling town of Thirsk and offer a great base for exploring North Yorkshire.

Morndyke Cottage:
This luxurious cottage is perfect for the ultimate country retreat, offering stunning views over the Hambleton Hills. The ground-level cottage is nestled away adjacent to our family farmhouse and close to our wonderful parrot sanctuary at the bottom of the garden.

This recently renovated cottage has been finished to the highest standards and boasts outstanding furniture and fittings, plus toasty underfloor heating for the winter months. Inside there is a well-equipped kitchen for home-cooking, including a microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge, cooker and Emma Bridgewater crockery and kitchenware.

After a busy day of sightseeing, unwind in the cosy living room which has been furnished with elegant Barker and Stonehouse furniture. Excellent facilities include a TV with Netflix and DVD player, an electric wood-burning stove and comfy seating. A useful utility room and drying room is also available. Outside there is a delightful patio area with a table and chairs for al fresco dining while savouring the views.

Two lavish bedrooms boast Laura Ashley's soft furnishings and enjoy lovely views over the garden and fields. The master room comes with a king-size bed and the second room has a single bed. Both rooms share a bathroom with a large shower unit and complementary Duck Island products.

Morndyke Shepherds’ Huts:
Our charming shepherd huts are tucked away in the corner of the farm, set in a scenic position next to the 2-acre coarse fishing lake. The huts come with comfy bunk beds, a dining area, a toasty, wood burner, seating and a bathroom. Outside there is a paved area with a table and chairs, great for a morning coffee whilst savouring the gorgeous setting. Linen and towels can be hired for an extra charge.

Our fabulous Parrot Sanctuary provides a rescue, rehoming and rehabilitation service for unwanted parrots from across the country. We also have a fantastic lake which is stocked with a wide array of fish.

We are in the ideal location for exploring the area, with lots of stunning cycle and walking routes right on our doorstep. Less than a mile from us is Busby Stoop garage which sells essentials, whilst the opposite is an award-winning Indian restaurant. Only 3 miles away is Thirsk, home to excellent, pubs, restaurants and cafes. You can also play a round or two at the Thirsk & Northallerton Golf Course.

Galdenoch Castle Lodge in Meikle Galdenoch offers fantastic self-catering accommodation, adjacent to the amazing ruins of 16th Century Galdenoch Castle. We are close to the charming fishing village of Portpatrick and ideal for a tranquil break in Dumfries & Galloway.

Our beautifully furnished holiday home has been finished to a high standard, boasting designer decor and soft furnishings, blended with natural wood, slate and stone finishes. The cottage sleeps 12 people and is nestled on a large working farm, with paths leading to 2 BBQ huts at Loch More and Saltpan Bay.

Inside our fabulous lodge is a well-equipped kitchen including a dishwasher, cooker, two upright fridge/freezers, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, beer pump (kegs available on request) and seating. Enjoy some delicious meals in the dining room which has a toasty log-burning stove for the winter months and a TV with Freesat.

After a day on the beach, unwind in the cosy lounge which has an electric coal effect stove. Patio doors open onto a lovely patio area with garden furniture for al fresco dining. A useful utility room comes with a tumble dryer, washing machine, clothes horse, iron and ironing board. On the ground floor, there are also 2 en suite twin rooms and a double en suite room. A WC and boot/cloakroom are also on the ground floor.

The first floor from the hall has a twin en suite room, 2 single rooms and a shower room. On the first floor from the kitchen, there is a wonderful double room with a king-size sleigh bed and an en suite bathroom. All linen and towels are included.

The delightful harbour village of Portpatrick is nearby and home to brilliant restaurants, great pubs and picturesque clifftop walks. In Stranraer, you can take a dip in the swimming pool or catch a movie at the cinema, whilst golfers can play a round at the world-famous Turnburry, just an hour’s drive from the lodge. Closer to home, pony trekking and riding lessons can be enjoyed on a neighbouring farm just 1 ½ miles away. Excellent attractions to visit include:

Granary Cottage, Little Humby, Grantham, Lincolnshire (Sleeps 1-3)


Granary Cottage offers charming self-catering accommodation in the quaint hamlet of Little Humby. Located near Grantham in a tranquil setting, we are in the perfect position for exploring Lincolnshire.

This wonderful cottage dates from the 18th Century and was originally a granary. The cottage now offers excellent accommodation whilst still retaining its original features, including original beams and a toasty wood-burning stove. The cottage is tastefully furnished and sleeps up to 3 people.

Inside there is a well-equipped kitchen including a cooker, oven, microwave, fridge with icebox section, dishwasher and washing machine. We even provide a lovely welcome breakfast pack, including fresh home-baked bread and homemade jam. You can unwind in a cosy living/dining area after a day in the countryside. Facilities include comfy seating, a log-burning stove, TV, games and a dining table.

Upstairs there is a beautiful king-size bedroom with a memory foam mattress, TV and gorgeous exposed beams. The bijou second bedroom has a 3ft single bed with a pocket sprung mattress and has been furnished in the whimsical style of a ship’s cabin, complete with a porthole mirror and ship’s lantern. Both rooms share a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Towels, soap and a bubble bath for a luxury soak are provided.

The cottage is nestled in the beautiful garden of the owner’s farmhouse and boasts a private patio with a table and chairs for al fresco dining in the afternoon sun. Please keep dogs on a lead whilst in the shared grounds. You can also enjoy the 3-acre organic wildflower meadow and woodland area.

We are based near the village green and just 1 mile away from an award-winning CAMRA pub which serves delicious food. You can also visit the nearby market town of Grantham, home to great restaurants, lovely cafes and interesting shops. Visit Belvoir Castle, one of the UK’s finest Regency castles, or see Woolsthorpe Manor, a historic National Trust-owned 17th-century farmhouse. Excellent attractions to visit include:

Pulla Farm is a 100-acre family-run farm on the outskirts of the tiny village of Frogpool, near Truro where you will be able to watch the livestock grazing in the surrounding fields. The farm offers self-catering accommodation within the 17th Century farmhouse. It is in a central location between the A30 and A39, near both Truro and Falmouth making it ideally situated for touring the wonderful countryside and coasts Cornwall has to offer.

Bee-Eater Cottage, Bishop Middleham, Ferryhill, Durham (Sleeps 1-8)


Bee-Eater Cottage at Bishop Middleham in Durham is a fantastic place to stay for those who want a break away from the noise of modern-day living. The holiday cottage is nestled in a beautiful location, just a short drive from Ferryhill, on a farm next to a nature reserve. We aim to provide guests with a comfortable place to stay that feels like a home away from home.

The cottage is named after a pair of breeding Bee-Eaters, who were seen in the nature reserve next to the farm. During this time, we were visited by many keen birdwatchers from throughout the UK, including RSPB volunteers who stayed for nearly 3 months to observe these beautiful birds.
 
Once the birds had moved on, we decided to keep the name and offer our cottage to all who would like a peaceful breakaway and an opportunity to do some birdwatching of their own whilst exploring this lovely part of England.
 
The cottage includes everything you need for an enjoyable stay, no matter how short or long, Downstairs is a large breakfast kitchen, lounge/dining room and bedroom with a double bed. There is also a WC and utility room.
 
Upstairs there are three bedrooms; one with a double bed, one with two singles and one with bunk beds. There is also a family bathroom, with a bath and shower.
 
Outside is where you can enjoy your location. In front of the house, there is a small garden where you can enjoy a BBQ or simply sit out and watch the parkland animals with the lake in the distance. There is also a 5-acre grass field just the other side of the fence where many a game of family football or rounders has been undertaken, as well as kite flying, frisbee and a whole host of other games.
 
To the rear of the house is an enclosed garden and parking for as many vehicles as you can bring.
 
Bee-Eater cottage is only 25 years old and offers modern facilities in a rural location. Be sure to bring good outdoor clothing so that you can make the most of your stay by walking the beautiful farm and if you're, lucky you’ll be able to experience our wonderful animals close-up by taking full benefit of your VIP stay.
 
Farnless Farm Park is renowned for the range of wild birds it attracts over the spring and summer months. (120 species and counting). Our herds of Bison and Deer roam the pasture and you will be sure to get up close with these animals in their natural environment on your farm walk and depending on the time of year you may even see some young. These are dangerous farm animals that occupy a big area and at no time can you enter their pasture so be prepared to walk.
 
If you are a keen bird watcher or purely interested in the countryside and its flora and fauna you’ll enjoy your time at Farnless and are guaranteed to see English nature at its best.
