Shepherd's Hut & Otter's Retreat are in a stunning part of Cheshire, at Mellor Knowl Farm in Wincle. Our holiday accommodation is in the beautiful Dane Valley and is conveniently located for Buxton, Macclesfield and Leek. It is just 35 minutes from Manchester airport. Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and the Potteries are all within reasonable driving distance. From Wincle you can explore the whole of the Peak District National Park.

For those who want a get away from it all break, our shepherd’s hut and cottage are the perfect place to stay. Each provides a quiet place from which to escape the stresses of modern-day living.

Guests are encouraged to enjoy the surrounding countryside and are very welcome to roam our 38 acres of fields, woodland and riverbank.

Shepherd’s Hut: Bordered by a bluebell wood with rookery there is an abundance of wildlife to see. The views from the hut are stunning. There is a summerhouse to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun go down and a BBQ/fire pit to sit around when the night draws in.

The Shepherds Crook sleeps two and has an en suite bathroom with shower, a well-equipped kitchen and a large double bed.

Otter’s Retreat: For families who are looking for a rural break or a couple who enjoy the extra space, this beautiful cottage is the perfect place to stay. It can be combined with Shepherd’s Crook if you have a bigger party that needs to be together in the same location.

Ty Cerrig Woodland Retreats consist of a cabin and shepherds hut, set on 8 acres hidden away on the outskirts of Bonvilston. This quaint village is close to the city of Cardiff & is surrounded by the countryside of Glamorgan.

Bwncath Log Cabin is a wooden frame cabin which can sleep 4. It has a double and twin room. The living space is open plan. It is well equipped with a wood burner, dining table, fridge with freezer compartment & cooker. Outside is a picnic table and fire pit.

Gwdihw Shepherds Hut is simple but contains modern facilities. It can accommodate 4 in a double & 2 bunk beds. The hut is cocooned in a blanket of sheep wool insulation and the woodburning stove. It has a quaint kitchen area with two gas rings. If you prefer to eat outside, there is a fire pit.

Ty Cerrig is surrounded by countryside which is perfect for walking. The coast is also close by. Nearby Cardiff offers a whole host of amenities and attractions. Glamorgan is a beautiful place to visit with sites such as Dyffryn Gardens. These Edwardian gardens are stunning. Cardiff Castle is one of Wales leading heritage attractions.
