Brackenrigg House – Sleeps 10

This spacious Victorian property sleeps up to 10 guests and features a bright, double-aspect lounge with large bay windows framing panoramic views of Helvellyn, along with a welcoming wood-burning stove. The lounge opens into a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, which includes a handmade oak kitchen, electric range cooker and dishwasher.

The house offers five generous en-suite bedrooms, comprising three doubles and two twins, with the master suite benefiting from a jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Additional facilities include a games room with an air hockey table, a laundry room with a large washing machine and drying facilities, and extensive outdoor spaces. Guests can enjoy a verandah, summer house, BBQ area, children’s play area and beautifully maintained gardens, which are shared with Brackenrigg Barn Cottages.

Bleaberry House – Sleeps 2

Bleaberry is a ground-floor studio cottage within a converted barn, offering an open-plan layout with a lounge, Smart TV, comfortable king-sized bed and ample wardrobe space. The well-equipped kitchen includes an oven, halogen hobs, slow cooker, microwave and dining table, while the en-suite bathroom features a bath with an overhead shower.

Outside, guests can relax in a private seating area with a BBQ and take in the stunning views, along with access to a shared laundry room and acres of surrounding meadows and woodlands.

Brocklebeck Cottage – Sleeps 2

Brocklebeck is a ground-floor studio cottage for two, boasting breathtaking views of the Helvellyn range through its large arched barn window. The open-plan interior includes a comfortable king-sized bed, a well-equipped kitchen with an oven, halogen hobs, fridge, slow cooker, microwave and dining table, and a cosy sitting area with a sofa, tub chair and Smart TV/DVD. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower.

Guests can enjoy a private outdoor seating area with a BBQ, a picnic lawn and access to the shared laundry room.

The Sett – Sleeps 4

The Sett is the largest of the three self-catering cottages within Brackenrigg Barn, offering a spacious and comfortable retreat near Keswick. Retaining original 19th-century features such as stone walls, wooden beams and floor-to-ceiling windows, the cottage enjoys stunning views of the Helvellyn range.

Ideal for families, it sleeps four across two bedrooms—a master bedroom and a spacious twin—along with a family bathroom with an over-bath shower. The open-plan living area includes comfortable sofas, a Smart TV, free Wi-Fi and a well-equipped kitchen with an oven, halogen hobs, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and breakfast bar. Outside, guests can relax in the fellside garden with a patio, BBQ and views of visiting red squirrels.

Gardens & Grounds

The extensive gardens and grounds surrounding Brackenrigg House and Brackenrigg Barn Cottages provide plenty of space for children to play, peaceful areas to relax, and excellent opportunities to observe local wildlife. Regular visitors include badgers, foxes, red deer, hares, red squirrels and a wide variety of songbirds, as well as birds of prey such as kestrels, sparrowhawks, buzzards and owls, including tawny and barn owls. Younger guests can enjoy an adventure play tower and a paddock ideal for ball games.

Brackenrigg Cottages offers 3 self catering cottages located in the Naddle Valley in Cumbria. The cottages are located in the very heart of the World Heritage Lake District Park in seven acres of land with meadows and paddocks surrounding the accommodation. The Three cottages are converted from a 19th century barn, retaining many of the original character.

Stunning views to Helvellyn and surrounding fells, and Blencathra to the North. The gardens and woodlands are home to red squirrels, badgers, owls and abundant song birds and wildlife.

Bleaberry:
This barn converted cottage for two, is spacious and all on the ground floor. There is an open plan living/dining/kitchen area that offers a comfortable sofa, TV with DVD player, iPod doc, fully equipped kitchen including a microwave, halogen hobs, oven etc and dining table. There is a double bed and ample wardrobe space and an attractive en suite bathroom with bath/shower.

There’s a lovely outdoor seating area with BBQ & stunning views, a picnic lawn and a shared laundry room.

Welcomes on small behaved dog.

Brocklebeck:
This barn converted holiday cottage, also sleeps 2, all on one floor. The open plan living area offers a comfortable sitting area with TV, DVD player and Wi-Fi. Stunning arched barn style window looking out over the views to Helvellyn.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you will need for a self catering holiday including oven, halogen hobs, fridge, microwave and dining table. There are two single beds, which can be made up as a super king double and a luxury en suite bathroom with bath/shower.

There’s an outdoor seating area with BBQ, picnic lawn and a shared laundry room.

The Sett:
This is gorgeous barn converted cottage for 4-5 is well appointed barn cottage with two bedrooms; one double bedroom, and one with twin bedroom. The twin room also has room for a z-bed suitable for a child. Huge full height barn style windows overlooking the fell side garden, Views through the lounge windows to Helvellyn.

The spacious living/dining area that has a pine dining table that seats 6 as well as 2 large sofas. The living room also has a TV with DVD player and an iPod dock. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, separate small freezer, dishwasher, halogen hobs, oven, microwave. Separate shared laundry room. Fully equipped with everything you will need for a self catering holiday. Patio seating and BBQ. The bathroom has a bath/shower and WC.

Keswick offers a range of outdoor activities including walking a cycling. There are many walks and cycle routes near the self catering cottages that are suitable for all ages and abilities.

Brackenrigg enjoys a magnificent location in the very heart of the Lake District and is only a couple of miles from Keswick-on-Derwentwater, a lovely Victorian market town with plenty of shops, an excellent Saturday market, restaurants, pubs, museums, a magnificent theatre, cinema, leisure pool, golf course & climbing wall.
