Crafted from locally sourced timber, these self-catering lodges provide sustainable luxury for up to 6 guests each, immersed in the serene beauty of Mid Wales.

Approved by Visit Wales under the "Walkers and Cyclists Welcome Scheme," The Lon Lodges cater to outdoor enthusiasts, offering a perfect base for exploring central Wales. From peaceful lanes for cycling to mountain biking tracks and nature reserves for wildlife enthusiasts, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Red kites soar overhead, while the nearby Gigrin Red Kite Feeding Station provides a breathtaking spectacle.

Each lodge has been tastefully decorated and furnished, ensuring a relaxing and tranquil retreat for guests. Eco air conditioning keeps the lodges cool in summer, while underfloor heating provides warmth in cooler months. Guests are greeted with locally produced Welsh cakes upon arrival, and free Wi-Fi ensures connectivity throughout their stay. Ash and Sycamore Lodges are situated at The Lon, a family-run hill farm 4 miles from the small market town of Rhayader in Powys. Both of our self-catering lodges have been sustainably built using locally sourced timber and can each sleep 6 people. They offer luxury accommodation within the relaxing and beautiful countryside of Mid Wales. 

The Lon Lodges is committed to catering to the needs of walkers and cyclists and have been approved by Visit Wales after meeting the criteria of the "Walkers and Cyclists Welcome Scheme".

Ash and Sycamore are great places to relax and unwind and perfect bases from which to explore central Wales. There are lots of wonderful walks, peaceful lanes to cycle and many mountain biking tracks. Nature reserves, pony trekking and fishing are on the doorstep and the area is a bird watchers’ paradise. Fungi forays or guided mushroom hunts are a local speciality!

Our luxurious lodges are identical and have been tastefully decorated and furnished to ensure guests have a relaxing and tranquil retreat. All the lodges have eco air conditioning to keep the lodge lovely and cool in the summer months. Each lodge includes a private spa hot tub with LED lighting – great for evening star gazing! 

Red kites fill the skies and The Gigrin Red Kite Feeding Station is nearby, just outside Rhayader. The reservoirs and the unique open moorlands of the Elan Valley are just a few miles away and are a joy to explore on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or by car. The lovely country towns of Rhayader, Llanidloes, Builth Wells, Llandrindod Wells, Presteigne, Knighton (on Offa’s Dyke) and Hay on Wye all have very different characters and are all well worth a leisurely explore.

Lon Lodges offer 5 star accommodation on a family farm in Mid Wales, close to the town of Rhayader and the Elan Valley. 

Each lodge will sleep 6 persons and has a private spa hot tub. The log cabins are cosy and warm and are suitable for holidays all year round for walking, cycling and other activities or for just relax and revive. 

The Rhayader area is well-known as the Wildlife Centre of Wales, with an amazing variety of established nature reserves available to our visitors. The Radnorshire Wildlife Trust manages many of the reserves ranging from woodland to moorland, wetland to meadow.
