At the heart of the lodge is a bespoke oak kitchen, fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable self-catering stay. The adjoining dining area seats up to six guests and provides a wonderful space for enjoying family meals together. French doors open directly onto a furnished patio, making outdoor dining easy while soaking up the stunning coastal views.

Comfortable Bedrooms & Modern Facilities

The lodge comfortably accommodates up to six guests across three well-appointed bedrooms, including a king room, a twin room and a flexible single room that can be converted into a twin when required. Each bedroom benefits from its own wall-mounted television for added comfort and convenience.

The luxurious family bathroom provides the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the islands. Guests can unwind in the double-ended whirlpool bath or enjoy the separate shower, while thoughtful features such as underfloor heating, a heated steam-free mirror and feature lighting add an extra touch of luxury.

Outside, two furnished patio areas provide peaceful spaces to sit back and admire the surrounding countryside and coastline. There is also a useful drying and storage area for bicycles, fishing equipment and outdoor gear.

Our recently refurbished chalets are set within the heart of Orkney's West Mainland and near the bustling town of Kirkwall. Ideally situated for seeing the amazing archaeological sites.

Accommodation
Our 4 extensively renovated cottages have been finished to a high standard, great for an idyllic break in the country.

The 4 chalets can each accommodate 4 people in a double and twin room. The modern living room comes with a Freeview TV and DVD player. A fully fitted kitchen is provided with a fridge, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. The bedrooms come with quality bed linen.

Onsite we also have a lovely bird hide to see the amazing local bird life.

Visiting Dounby & Exploring Orkney
Dounby has a few amenities which include a shop, butchers, Post Office, pharmacist, hairdressers and more. The chalets are in the perfect spot for bird watching and trout fishing as there is a Nature Reserve adjacent. All the lochs can be fished free of charge and with no need for a license. As mentioned there are plenty of archaeological sites in the area including:

Skara Brae.
Maes Howe.
Standing Stones of Stenness.
Ring of Brodgar.

2 Highbury Villas is a modern bungalow which is located in a cul-de-sac. It is within the town of Kirkwall on Orkney. The bungalow offers self catering accommodation with private parking. It is just a short walking distance from the amenities that the town has to offer. This is the ideal place to stay for those wanting to explore the mainland and outer islands of Orkney.

The accommodation is very comfortable and well equipped. The bungalow includes a living room which has a stone fireplace, TV, DVD player, books and DVDs.

The Flat at West Greaves is a cosy holiday home for 2 and is in a quiet and rural part of Holm on Orkney. The holiday accommodation is on 6 miles from Kirkwall and is well equipped with everything you will need for your break away.

Our holiday home consists of a spacious lounge with modern electric wall fire, fully fitted kitchen with gas cooker, washing machine and microwave, bedroom with double bed and fitted wardrobe/cupboards and bathroom with an electric shower over the bath. The flat has electric storage heaters. 

Bed linen, towels and electricity are included in the price and every care is taken to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.

There is a picnic bench in the garden and it is on a farm and we have eggs from our own hens and ducks most of the time. We have a small summer house with a superb view of Scapa Flow which you can feel free to use.

This beautiful part of Scotland is a great base for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Scottish countryside. Within walking distance is a shop and there are plenty of places to eat in the area.

For things to do during your stay there is an abundance of walks and cycle routes as well as boat trips of Scapa Flow available from the pier by arrangement during the summer months. There is an excellent bus service from the village and you are within easy access of most of the tourist attractions in Orkney.
