Colliston Castle near Arbroath offers unique self-catering accommodation in a majestic 16th Century Scottish Castle. Our castle in Angus is surrounded by 10 acres of lawns and mature woodland, offering a magical getaway in the country.

Our wonderful castle sleeps 16 people, perfect for a group or family looking for somewhere special to stay. The castle is beautifully furnished and comes with a range of modern facilities to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

This stunning historic castle boasts amazing features, including turrets, towers and vaulted rooms, all combined with high-quality accommodation. Open the front doors to the magnificent, vaulted entrance hall to start a fabulous experience. Inside there are 4 reception rooms on the first floor, including a drawing room and turret library. You can unwind in the cosy lounge which has comfy seating and a TV.

Rustle up some delicious dishes in the well-equipped which comes with a traditional range cooker and separate electric ovens, 2 dishwashers, 2 fridge freezers and a microwave. A washing machine and tumble dryer are also available (not in the kitchen). Savour some delicious meals in the dining room which seat 16 plus people. The informal dining room is in the garden room, which leads out onto the patio with seating for al fresco dining.

In Arbroath, you can stroll around the harbour, browse the shops or try one of the brilliant restaurants. Gorgeous Lunan Bay is only 4 miles away, whilst the bustling city of Edinburgh is a 2-hour drive. Excellent attractions to visit include:

The Monthly Tutor's Cottage, Fishguard, Pembrokeshire (Sleeps 1-6)

The Monthly Tutor's Cottage is set in a pretty wooded valley, 100 metres from the sea in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire. Our holiday cottage is a Grade II listed building that dates back to 1810 and is in an ideal location for 6 people who want to explore this magnificent part of Wales.

Our holiday cottage was once used as a refuse for the Fishguards poor and destitute children. The building has been recognised for its architectural and historical importance and is a wonderful base for those who want to stay in a beautiful holiday cottage that is full of charm, character and history. The interior of the holiday cottage has been tastefully restored and retains many of the original features.

Outside of the holiday cottage is the garden where you will find a woodshed with logs for the fire, a barbecue and garden furniture. There are 2 gardens and an orchard which receive sunshine all day long and are a wonderful place to relax at the end of a busy day.

There are lovely walks along the river up the valley and around the coast. The coastal path opposite the cottage meanders around the bay to the small town of Goodwick where the ferry crosses to Ireland on a daily basis. There are several small coves around the bay providing good fishing and having small rock pools which are a must for crabbing. 

It is an ideal central location to visit the whole of Pembrokeshire with its golden beaches, stunning coastal views and 280 miles of coastal path. The cottage is the perfect retreat for both couples and families alike.

Dylan Thomas Birthplace and Family Home, Swansea, Glamorgan (Sleeps 1-7)

Dylan Thomas Birthplace and Family Home can be found in Swansea and was the home and birthplace of poet & author Dylan Thomas. The house has been carefully restored to its 1914 condition when bought as a new house by the Thomas family.

This holiday home can sleep up to 7 guests in 4 bedrooms.

The house has a truly historic feel throughout. Whilst we have ensured that the accommodation has all modern amenities, it has been decorated and furnished to resemble the house that Dylan would have lived and grown up in. There is even an original style washroom where the Monday maid would have boiled the water here to wash and dry the clothes!

Evening dinners can be held at 5 Cwmdonkin Drive. 6 to 8 people can form the dinner party and will be served a menu similar to that of Dylan's mother's - Welsh traditional food bought locally and served in an Edwardian house of style and comfort. We have a piano, phonogram and games table so come along and relive those days before television!
