Mallard Cottage

Tastefully renovated, Mallard Cottage features new furnishings, carpets, and a modern bathroom suite. This ground-floor property includes a cosy sitting room with a stone fireplace, a king-size bedroom, a twin room, and a well-equipped kitchen for home cooking. For larger groups, it can be booked alongside neighbouring Three Trees Cottage.

Three Trees Cottage

A charming one-bedroom ground-floor cottage full of character, Three Trees provides a peaceful retreat. It includes a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, a lounge/dining area with a TV, Freeview, DVD player, and a fireplace, as well as a comfortable king-size bedroom with a TV. The bathroom features a shower over bath. Guests can also enjoy outdoor seating on the patio and access to a large shared garden.

North Star Apartment

The most recent addition, North Star is a stylish apartment ideal for a romantic getaway. Its open-plan living area leads to a galleried bedroom with a king-size bed and memory foam mattress. The first floor features an en suite bathroom with bath and shower, while the ground floor provides a fully equipped kitchen and a relaxing lounge.

Facilities include Egyptian cotton linen, luxury bath sheets, HD TV, free WiFi, hairdryer, toiletries, and a range of kitchen appliances. Children over 7 are welcome in this apartment.

Accommodation Highlights

Mallard Cottage comfortably sleeps four guests across two bedrooms, with additional space for two more on the lounge sofas. The master bedroom features a charming pine four-poster double bed and offers spectacular views of passing steam trains. A second bedroom includes full-size adult bunk beds, perfect for families or friends travelling together. The bathroom features a WC, vanity unit, and a shower over the bath.

The cosy lounge and dining area boasts exposed beams, a feature fireplace with an electric stove-style fire, two comfortable sofas, a dining table and chairs, and a TV with DVD player—ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. The large kitchen is fully equipped with all the essential electric appliances for convenient self-catering.

Our charming cottage is great for a relaxing holiday in a lovely part of the country. The cottage is well-equipped throughout.

Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms and 2 sofas in the lounge. Bedrooms consist of 1 double with pine 4 poster bed which offers amazing view of steam train powering up the line. A 2nd bedroom comes with adult sized bunk beds. A bathroom includes a WC, vanity unit and shower over the bath. Unwind in the lounge/diner which comes with beams, electric stove type fire in feature fireplace, TV/DVD player, dining table and chairs, 2 sofas. A large kitchen comes with usual electric appliances.

Visiting Grosmont & Exploring North Yorkshire

Grosmont developed mainly as a centre of ironstone mining, which flourished during the nineteenth century. Today, the village is dominated by the trains operated by the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. This runs from Pickering to Grosmont, with an extra service along the Esk Valley Railway line. The Esk Valley Railway shares the station with the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Here the heritage and the service trains meet on opposite platforms. Visit the engine shed a short walk from the station to view the maintenance carried out on the steam engines.

Whitby seaside town is close to the cottage. It has Blue Flag beaches, shops and delicious fish and chips. There are a range of activities to enjoy including horse riding, walking, golfing and boating.

This delightful cottage has been tastefully renovated, offering a new bathroom suite, new carpets and furnishings throughout. The ground floor cottage has a cosy sitting to unwind in with a lovely stone fireplace, a king and twin room, plus a well-equipped kitchen for home-cooking. The cottage can be booked with Three Trees Cottage which is next door.

Three Trees:

Our peaceful one-bedroom property has lots of character and is all on the ground floor. The cottage has a fully-equipped kitchen with a fridge, freezer, gas hob, electric oven and grill, washing machine and microwave. A relaxing lounge/dining area has a TV with Freeview and DVD player, a fireplace and a table and chairs. The comfortable bedroom has a king-size bed and TV. A bathroom includes a shower over a bath. Outside there is a patio with seating for al fresco dining and a large shared garden.

North Star:

This stylish apartment is perfect for a romantic getaway. The latest addition to Grosmont House’s holiday accommodation includes a lovely open-plan living area, plus a galleried bedroom with a king-size bed and memory foam mattress. The first floor also has an en suite bathroom with a bath and shower. Downstairs there is a fully-equipped kitchen and relaxing lounge area.

Homefield offers superb self catering accommodation in Grosmont. This disabled and wheelchair friendly cottage is the perfect base for exploring Monmouthshire.

The charming property sleeps up to 5 people and is extremely disabled friendly and comes with a removable hoist.

The new large farmhouse kitchen is well equipped with a variety of appliances: kettle, toaster, coffee machine, microwave, large fridge/freezer, washing machine/tumble dryer and dishwasher. The living area is cosy, relaxing and comes with a raised settee, two armchairs, TV and DVD player. The conservatory is the perfect sun trap and comes with two chairs and a side table. The floor covering is non slip and comes with a wide door with hand rails which give access to the kitchen. A sliding patio door give access to the lounge. There is a ramp to the patio then level access into the conservatory and via a ramp into the kitchen. The moveable ramp allows access to the main bungalow via either doorway depending upon preference.

Three tastefully furnished bedrooms are available: a twin, double and garden bedroom. The luxurious en suite wet room is suitable for guests with limited mobility. There is a roll in shower with retractable shower screens, safety flooring and a high level WC. A separate family bathroom has a door which opens outwards, flat against the wall. This make it suitable for wheelchair access. The bath has a door to step in through and a seat which lowers electrically into the bath.

There is a gorgeous enclosed garden and patio area. The patio comes with garden furniture, a sun umbrella and BBQ. An ideal place for a spot of al fresco dining.

Homefield is able to offer a large range of specialist equipment for people with disabilities, such as a mobile hoist, commode on wheels, static commode, bed sides, folding wheelchairs, zimmer and other aids.

Grosmont Castle is part of a trio of neighbouring castles built by Hubert de Burgh in the early 13th Century. A wooden bridge leads across the deep moat and into the shell of the castle walls. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy walking around Graig Syfyrddin. The hill is perfect for admiring the scenic surroundings on a summer’s day.
