Monnow Valley Studios Rockfield, Monmouth, Monmouthshire

Monnow Valley Studios Rockfield, Monmouth, Monmouthshire

Since 1978, Monnow Valley Studio in Rockfield has solidified its status as one of the world's most esteemed recording studios. A plethora of iconic artists, including Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Robert Plant, Simple Minds, Nigel Kennedy, Oasis, and Sir Tom Jones, have graced its halls with their musical talents. The studio's famed cartwheel doors even graced the cover of Oasis' debut single "Supersonic," a track often credited with igniting the Britpop movement in the 1990s.

Now transformed into a Big House Holiday Let, this legendary rock 'n' roll sanctuary welcomes you and your loved ones to inhabit the same rooms where these music legends once created magic. The expansive, soundproof Studio Room beckons for dining and revelry, equipped with disco lighting and a speaker system ready for your own musical adventures. The house is adorned with memorabilia and photos commemorating the artists who have left their mark within these walls over the years.

Refurbished in 2020, the studio boasts a brand-new kitchen stocked with all the essentials for entertaining, along with 11 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms (7 en-suite), accommodating up to 24 guests. Two connected en-suite bedrooms on the ground floor, with separate access, cater to those with limited mobility.

The main lounge, accompanied by an adjoining snug, boasts a large TV with access to Sky, Netflix, and Amazon Prime, complemented by a cosy log burner. High-speed fibre broadband blankets the entire property. The former studio control room, once graced by John Lennon's mixing desk, has been transformed into the Games and Cinema Room, offering entertainment options ranging from pool and darts to table tennis, computer games, and movies.

The dining room, positioned at the glass end of the studio, showcases floor-to-ceiling glass walls, a vaulted ceiling, and hand-carved stone pillars, affording your party panoramic views of the River Monnow and the surrounding countryside during meals.

Outside, a spacious patio area awaits, complete with sofas, tables, and a rejuvenating Jacuzzi hot tub. The property, bordered by the River Monnow on one side and enveloped by lush gardens and trees on the other three sides, ensures utmost privacy. Ample parking space for 16 cars is provided.

Nestled 300 meters down a private lane, the house promises tranquillity and serenity for a rejuvenating getaway. Numerous public footpaths nearby offer opportunities for scenic hikes. The property lies just beyond the former perimeter of the ancestral home of Charles Rolls, now the Rolls of Monmouth Golf Club, a short drive away.

Merely 2.5 miles from the picturesque market town of Monmouth, the studio enjoys proximity to several supermarkets and takeaway services for added convenience.

The owners reside nearby and are readily available to address any queries during your stay. Studio owner Jo, boasting 30 years of experience in the music industry, can regale your party with tales of her collaborations with Richard Branson and Simon Cowell, her experiences touring with Nirvana, and her shared living arrangements with artists at the studio over two decades.
