Anvil Cottage, Embleton, Alnwick, Northumberland (Sleeps 1-2)

Anvil Cottage is located in the village of Embleton, situated on the Northumberland Coast. We have some of the most beautiful coastlines in the country, unspoilt and quiet. We are situated just a short drive from the historic town of Alnwick with its magnificent castle and gardens.

The holiday cottage was originally a Blacksmith’s Shop, last used as such about 1880. It has been in the Skipper family since 1953. The cottage was renovated in 2006 with double glazing, upgraded heating and new furnishings. The accommodation consists of one bedroom with twin beds and a shower room/toilet en suite. There is a large living room/dining area and a separate kitchen. The heating is by night storage. The shower, cooking and water heater are all-electric. A meter reading is taken at the start of your holiday. All linen is supplied.

Embleton is the ideal base for exploring the whole of the county and the Borders if you so wish. The village itself has not suffered from commercialisation so still has that atmosphere that allows you to relax and unwind from life.

The Lazy Fish is a wonderful barn conversion that boasts many original features whilst offering modern accommodation. This charming property is well insulated and comes with eco-friendly underfloor heating and a wood burner for added warmth. The open plan living/dining/kitchen area is stylish, comfortable and will suit all your needs. Two beautifully furnished bedrooms are available. There is a shower wet room and a bathroom, and you can unwind in our sumptuous outdoor spa pool.

The Little Fish is a modern and stylish studio property next door to the Lazy Fish. The luxurious double bath is accompanied by the babble of the brook outside. The kitchen is well equipped and for an additional upgrade, we can provide a champagne welcome hamper with homemade brownies, snacks and all you need for breakfast. Outside there is a private courtyard with a BBQ and seating. An ideal place for a spot of al fresco dining.

We are near the market towns of Keswick and Cockermouth which have a variety of shops, pubs and cafes.
