Lochan Lodge, Cromdale, Grantown-on-Spey, Moray, Morayshire

Located in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, Lochan Lodge provides an intimate setting with breathtaking panoramic views of the unspoiled natural countryside. The lodge is ideally situated close to numerous visitor attractions and amenities, making it a perfect base for exploring the area. Offering spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to six adults and two children, the lodge features four king-sized bedrooms, each designed to provide a relaxing and luxurious stay.

The lodge’s accommodation includes a well-equipped open-plan kitchen, complete with an adjoining second kitchen, a dining area, and a spacious lounge. The main kitchen is fitted with modern appliances, including an electric and gas hob, two electric ovens, a microwave, two dishwashers, a bean-to-cup coffee machine, and a fridge/freezer, with an additional fridge in the prep kitchen for extra convenience. This setup is ideal for guests who enjoy preparing meals together or need ample space for entertaining.

For sleeping arrangements, there are three double bedrooms with king beds, two of which have ensuite bathrooms or shower rooms for added privacy and comfort. The fourth bedroom features a king "zip 'n link" bed that can be converted into two single beds, providing flexibility for different group sizes and preferences. This thoughtful layout ensures that the lodge can accommodate families or groups of friends comfortably.

The open-plan living area, which includes a log burner, is perfect for cosy evenings, especially during the cooler months. The second kitchen is fully equipped for all culinary needs, and there is also a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, adding to the convenience for longer stays. On the first floor, the second lounge offers fantastic views of the surrounding countryside, making it an excellent spot for relaxation or socialising.

Guests can also enjoy the eco-friendly Larch hot tub, which is self-stoked with logs. This unique feature allows for a relaxing soak while taking in the serene natural surroundings. However, it is worth noting that the hot tub may be unavailable during droughts due to the lodge’s private water supply. Outside, there is a patio area with garden furniture and a BBQ, perfect for alfresco dining or simply enjoying the fresh air.

The lodge's well-maintained garden leads down to the Lochan, where guests can partake in trout fishing in season, from March 31 to September 30. There is a small additional charge for any fish retained. For those interested in more adventurous activities, salmon fishing, game shooting, or deer stalking can be arranged nearby. The lodge also offers two 'sit-on' kayaks for hire at a reasonable cost, and wild water swimming is possible in the loch for those who enjoy a more exhilarating experience.

Lochan Lodge has ample parking for at least four cars and provides two outdoor dog kennels and runs for well-behaved outdoor dogs, ensuring that even pets can enjoy a comfortable stay. For those driving electric vehicles, the lodge is equipped with electric vehicle charging points, including both Tesla and Type 2 chargers.

Additional features of the lodge include linen and towels, a starter welcome pack with essentials, central heating, and a log burner with provided logs, ensuring a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout your stay. Entertainment options are plentiful, with a TV with Sky Digital, a Blu-ray DVD player with a selection of DVDs, a quality HiFi system with a collection of 300 CDs, and an Xbox 360 with several popular games in the upstairs lounge. WiFi is available with an approximate download speed of 30 Mbps, and there is a variety of books and games for all ages.
