White Lion Farm dates back to the 16th century and still retains many of its original features today. The former stables and storerooms have been beautifully converted into two self-catering holiday cottages, located in Shortgate just five minutes from Lewes in East Sussex. These charming and quaint cottages are available for both long and short stays.
Cedar & Chestnut Cottages
Both holiday cottages can accommodate up to four people, offering a double bedroom and a sofa bed.
The kitchens are well equipped with attractive light oak cupboards, a cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine. Each cottage features a comfortable living area that opens onto a private patio and small garden, providing a peaceful space to relax.
Visiting Shortgate & Exploring East Sussex
Just a short walk from the cottages, guests will find two lakes available for fishing. Lewes, only a five-minute drive away, offers a variety of places to eat, as well as attractions such as Lewes Castle and Anne of Cleves House.
The area is ideal for outdoor activities, with easy access to the East Sussex National Golf Course and opportunities for horse riding, walking and cycling.
Further afield, visitors can explore Arundel and its impressive castle, cross into Kent to visit Hever Castle (the former home of Anne Boleyn) or enjoy a day out in Tunbridge Wells.
