The Mill House

Our gorgeous property sleeps up to 15 people in 4 boutique-themed bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. Luxurious rooms include The Indian Temple Room which includes a line of 17th Century Indian Temple pillars and a large Indian bed. The Peking Boudoir Room offers a touch of Chinese history and includes 19th Century granite stone lions and vintage Chinese stork panels.

The Saxon Hall offers a perfect entertaining space. The room enjoys open roof rafters, an elegant dining table, sumptuous sofas and amazing views down the south downs through the French doors. You can cook up some delicious homemade food in the modern kitchen.

The Timber Barn

This wonderful barn sleeps up to 18 people, great for parties, hen nights, stag dos and weddings. The spectacular banquet hall offers a fantastic space to relax and fun in. Features include furniture from Nepal, Chinese hardwood screens, a chandelier, dining area and lounge. The kitchen is great for cooking up a feast.

The Dorm Room sleeps 11 in three single beds and four double beds. Two separate ground floor bedrooms sleeps 3 in one king and one single. The second ground floor room sleeps two in a twin. The superior Chinese boutique bedroom sleeps two in a double bed.

Our quirky airstream is great for a truly unforgettable getaway. The accommodation sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms: a double and twin room. Facilities include a well-equipped kitchen, Bluetooth speak and a lovely private garden with a patio seating for al fresco dining.

The Cabin

Marden Down Holiday Cottages offer outstanding self-catering accommodation in 2 well-equipped cottages. Located near Chichester and boasting stunning views, we are the perfect holiday destination.

The Stable Annexe sleeps up to 4 people and has been thoughtfully decorated over 2 floors. There is also a delightful walled patio with seating that overlooks our pony paddock and the South Downs. On the ground floor, there is a delightful open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge. A beautifully appointed lounge conservatory with a glass roof and full height windows overlook the patio. Bedroom 1 includes a double bed and bedroom 2 includes 2 single beds. Both rooms share a bathroom which has a bath with a shower over.

Gardener’s Cottage was originally built as gardener’s accommodation by Lord Durham who owned and lived in the manor house next door. The cottage sleeps up to 4 people and has a pretty south-facing garden to unwind in. Downstairs there is a delightful solid oak kitchen & a bright south-facing lounge that narrows to the dining area. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. Bedroom 1 has 2 single beds and bedroom 2 has a double bed. There are fabulous views over our paddock, fields and the rolling Downs. The bathroom is fully tiled with a bath and power shower.

There is a huge network of footpaths and bridleways running from the property, and the area abounds with wildlife. We regularly see deer, foxes, badgers and buzzards from the garden, and you might just meet the village peacocks. The village pub serves a range of beers and excellent food (we can vouch for this!) and is only a short walk away. A small shop and post office, playground/tennis court and the church can be found in Compton, less than a mile up the road.

The Old Grocery gets its name from the local census from 1871 onwards which shows a local grocer, Mr Henry Stoner, his wife Charlotte and their lodger Mr Harris, the grocer’s assistant, lived at the house. The property has been beautifully refurbished & now offers luxurious accommodation to provide a tranquil and indulgent holiday experience.

On arrival, we offer a few fabulous treats to make the start of your stay as perfect as possible. You can look forward to complimentary tea and cake or a cream tea as well as some local treats. We also offer a complimentary bottle of fizz in the fridge for stays of 5 days or more. Milk, tea, coffee and sugar are always left for your arrival.

The stylish living room is great for unwinding in with friends or family after a busy day sightseeing. Watch your favourite show on the large widescreen smart TV and DVD/Blu player. We also offer a brilliant variety of board games for some evening fun.

Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen. We have everything you need, including a spice rack, a range cooker with double oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster and a Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules. The open plan living space is ideal for entertaining, allowing the whole family to be together. French windows open into a delightful patio area with a bistro table for al fresco dining over a few glasses of wine on a sunny afternoon.

On the first floor, there is a sumptuous master king room with a lavish en suite bathroom with a larger shower cubicle and bathtub. A bunk bedroom is also on this floor and is great for children. The second floor has a double bedroom and an adjoining bathroom. A travel cot and highchair can be provided on request. On the ground floor, there is a further WC and shower. Towels, bathrobes and beach towels are provided.

We can help arrange a light grocery shop and unpack for you if you are arriving late in the evening, please give us prior notice of at least 2 – 3 days. We can also help with restaurant bookings and can offer a trusted local babysitter.

Goodwood also offers horse racing, golf and a range of motor and aviation experiences. Picturesque Chichester Marina is only a short drive away, as well as the scenic fishing villages of Itchenor, Emsworth and Bosham.
