Plas Glansevin, Llangadog, Carmarthenshire, Brecon Beacons National Park

Plas Glansevin is an impressive mansion located in the Towy Valley at the western foothills of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Set within over 5 acres of private grounds, the mansion was built during the Napoleonic war and has served as a family home for over three centuries. Historically, from the 16th century until after World War II, it was the seat of one of the oldest surviving families in Wales, with noble Celtic roots and connections to Edward I and Tendwr Mawr (Tudor the Great).

Accommodation at Plas Glansevin is rich in history and luxury. The oldest part of the house, known as the Tudor House, includes bedroom 11 and the sitting room directly below it. Guests are welcomed by an expansive hallway leading to a large games room and a spacious, elegant drawing room on the opposite side, featuring an open coal fire and a bar. Three additional smaller reception rooms equipped with TV facilities and projector screens offer further space for relaxation and entertainment. The dining room, capable of seating 70-80 people, includes a warm inglenook fireplace, contributing to the mansion’s cozy atmosphere. The property also boasts a fully equipped kitchen with an outlook to the dining room, complemented by an additional preparation kitchen nearby.

The mansion offers 20 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 42 guests, ranging from large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms to more modest accommodations. For larger groups requiring extra space, additional accommodation can be rented in the form of Carriage Rooms from the neighbours.

The expansive grounds of Plas Glansevin provide a perfect backdrop for relaxation or playful activities, featuring an open-air unheated swimming pool and a sauna. The gardens connect directly to the countryside, ideal for guests wishing to explore the natural beauty of the area, including nearby castles, waterfalls, rivers, and lakes. The location also offers access to delightful eateries, art galleries, a deer park, and botanical gardens, all within a short drive.

This Grade II* listed Georgian mansion is not only an elegant and unique place to stay but also an excellent venue for large groups, whether arranging a weekend getaway, a special celebration, a wedding, or a corporate event. Plas Glansevin has partnerships with local caterers, wedding planners, outdoor activity providers, and professional walk leaders to ensure every event is memorable.
