Sealladh Eabhal, Grimsay, Isle of North Uist, Western Isles, Outer Hebrides


Sealladh Eabhal (Eaval View) is a recently renovated, traditional self-catering cottage situated on the picturesque island of Grimsay in the Outer Hebrides. Ideally located between North Uist and Benbecula, it provides an excellent base for exploring the neighbouring islands and the Hebridean Way.

This cosy cottage overlooks a pretty waterlily loch and is set on the north circular road around Grimsay, offering delightful views across the loch, surrounding moorland and out to sea.

Accommodation
The ground floor comprises a comfortable living room with a multi-fuel stove, a double bedroom, a bathroom with electric shower and a well-equipped, brand-new kitchen. The kitchen opens onto a secluded patio with uninterrupted moorland views, a tranquil outdoor space that is a particular favourite with guests.

Upstairs, there is a further double bedroom with a toilet and a twin bedroom. The landing provides a quiet workspace with a computer desk, overlooking Loch nan Lach (Loch of the Wild Ducks), with Eaval Mountain and Ronay in the distance and Cnoc Mòr (Big Hill) in the foreground.

Facilities and Equipment
The cottage is well equipped and includes:

Freesat TV with DVD player.

FM radio with CD player, with digital radio available via Satellite TV (DAB reception is poor locally).

Binoculars, maps, books and DVDs.

Sonos smart speaker.

Electric heating and utilities are included in the price. Towels, bed linen and a hairdryer are provided, along with cleaning materials, dishwashing liquid and tablets, washing powder and Highland Soap Co bathroom toiletries.

Visiting Sealladh Eabhal and Exploring the Uists
The cottage is located in the township of Kallin (Ceallan) on Grimsay Island and is centrally positioned for exploring the dazzling white sandy beaches, moorland and machair of the Uists. Machair is an environmentally important, flower-rich sandy soil created through traditional farming and crofting practices, supporting a wide variety of flora and fauna, including endangered species such as the corncrake and the great yellow bumblebee.

In addition to superb beach walks, there are numerous tracks to explore and hills to climb, offering fantastic panoramic views.
