Newholme House offer glorious self catering accommodation in the charming village of Cambusbarron. This stunning Edwardian property in Stirling dates from 1905 and is a great place for hosting Ceilidhs, anniversaries, milestone birthdays, murder mysteries and even a wedding.

This wonderful property comes with an elegant drawing room and a formal dining room with seating for up to 12 people. A door opens onto the beautiful garden. The cosy morning room has a door which opens onto the sunny veranda, the rockery and the lawn (all three rooms have a coal and wood burning fireplaces). TV/Video Sat/Cable, DVD, Stereo, Broadband Internet Access (bring your own laptop) are available in the morning room. There is a shower room with WC/basin on the main floor. For your convenience there are three bathrooms.

The kitchen has been newly remodelled with an industrial size gas range, fridge and dishwasher, country style cabinets, central island and attached table and pine flooring. Even the keenest gourmet cook will find the kitchen extremely well equipped. A freezer is available in a separate larder, while the large, new utility room has washers and drier and a pulley for drying clothes.

Upstairs there are six bedrooms, three of which can be made up as either two single beds or one super king double per room. One further room is a dedicated twin room and two single rooms each have double beds which can be used as singles or doubles. In total the house sleeps 10 comfortably or 12 using the single rooms as doubles. The four main bedrooms have washbasins in the room. Each bedroom has been recently redecorated and refurbished. There are two upgraded bathrooms, one with separate shower and tub, the other with bath/shower, plus a separate WC. Bed linen is provided.

There are delightful gardens to stroll around, including a patio area with garden furniture and private car park. The garden is screened by mature trees and there is a pond, rockery, large lawn, vegetable/herb garden, herbaceous border, strawberry frames and patio area with garden furniture.

There is also a flat which is only let with the main house. There is no additional charge for renting the flat. The flat sleeps up to 4 people in two king size rooms. One is on the ground floor with a separate WC. Upstairs there is a further bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. The living room is perfect for relaxing in and comes with an L shaped sofa plus a TV.

Historic Stirling, with its magnificent castle and rich Scottish heritage, offers excellent restaurants, shopping and Scottish heritage/cultural activities. Ideally located in the centre of Scotland , Stirling is just forty minutes from both Edinburgh and Glasgow. It was home to the Stuart monarchs for many years. Today it has been partially restored to its former splendour and you may take a tour where you will see quite realistic models of people working in the kitchens which is fun for adults and children alike. 

Among other attractions is Argyll's Lodgings - a 17th Century townhouse - and the ruin known as Mar's Wark. Not far from this you will find the Church of the Holyrood. A little further down the hill you will find the Old Town Jail which has been changed into a live show tourist attraction. Here you can see how people would have suffered in the harsh conditions of a Victorian reform prison. Right across the road you will find Tolbooth - the jail which preceded Old Town Jail and in which up to 25 prisoners were sometimes kept in a single cell. Today Tolbooth is a music and arts centre. You may also wish to visit the Smith Art Gallery and Museum which is entertaining for visitors of all ages.
